Who am I? What is my place in this world?
In the quiet city of Fukuoka, Japan, Kurashi Ito, a nihilistic 17-year-old high school boy, leads a solitary life in his bland apartment, finding solace in the depths of his solitude. Alone, he finds himself disconnected from those around him, struggling to grasp the idea of life and his place within it. One ordinary day, as he returns home from school, riding his worn-out bike through a stormy afternoon, his life takes an unexpected turn.
Stumbling upon a forgotten cardboard box in his apartment, Kurashi discovers a book inscribed with the writings of his late father. Intrigued, he begins to read about a mysterious and long-lost clan to which he belongs. The revelations within the pages unveil the untold secrets of his extinct family.
After unraveling this new-found knowledge, Kurashi sets out at midnight on a journey that transcends the boundaries of his comfort zone. Through his journey, Kurashi is faced not only with ruthless fights but also with the internal struggles of finding his true identity.
"The Inherited Darkness" is a captivating story of self-discovery, resilience, and philosophy. The unraveling of complexities in Kurashi's identity and the power that lies dormant within him.
Shameless Author Review: This is my first time writing a novel, so I apologize in advance if there are any mistakes throughout the story. Also, if you have any questions about the story itself, you can comment on this review, and I will do my best to answer them.
This story is a nice read, it comes with some ups and downs that make me feel like im with the characters in the story. the only thing i would have to say i don't like about this is the MC's lack of emotion so much so that it makes me not like that the plot will be put around him but I guess that is the main point of him. Besides this I really like the plot and development that has happened to this point.
I just realized I read this novel without making an account...ANYWAYS...I am enjoying this novel so far. My only real gripe is how the simple actions are extremely descriptive, which may be seen as a good or bad thing. I think it takes away from how amazing the fights are (I've read up to chapter 10). I hope there could be a spinoff series with one of the first side characters such as Lord Fujita or Hikari. Keep up the good work.
I’ve been reading this for about 2 months now, and I got to say that I am really enjoying it. I always liked the idea of the mysterious relentless mc, and Kurashi fits that mood perfectly. I look forward to the upcoming chapters.
Need more back grounded development also understanding why he’s that way
