The Slums (Part 1)

In a gloomy estate within the lord's office, an elderly man named Edun sat tensely, grappling with the pressing situation before him. He furrowed his brows, directing his gaze toward his attendant, who stood in front of him. "Have they arrived?" he inquired, his anticipation evident. He awaited the reinforcements dispatched by the Western Continent, a precaution against the possibility of the King reneging on their cooperation.

"Yes, Lord Edun. They have just reached the entrance to the Slums and are awaiting your authorization to enter," the attendant replied, his voice tinged with both relief and excitement.

Edun, sighing with relief at the King's apparent adherence to their agreement, muttered to himself, "Let's go welcome them to the Slums." He hastily rose from his seat, making his way to the exit, his attendant following closely.

Upon opening the door of the office, they stepped out into the empty, dreary hallways.
