Chung Seok knew what Choi Young was worried about what the Heavenly Doctor had said to the King with Jo II-shin, so he organised that for her to be moved to the inner room and sent Taiwan to the Woodalchi captain know trusting that he would only inform the captain.
Chung Seok was under the impression that the captain was currently having a meeting with the King and not knowing when it would end.
Being the second in charge, he stepped in and took over the leadership position of the Woodalchi when the captain was not there. Most of the Woodalchi unit members being used this knew that it would happen.
Unknown to him the captain is lying stretched out in front of the Sky Lady who is presently angry. Jang Bin however is not surprised at the turn of events thinking how it was something that could not be predicted.
The captain's stubbornness in having his wound treated and his condition monitored, has resulted in his body's energy no longer working the way it should.
Among them, someone came up with a rather plausible story, that the captain had asked the Heavenly Doctor for forgiveness.
The Heavenly Doctor had accepted and was in the process of instructing the captain in how to use a new technique.
The time for sad talks did not last long, just like milking the cow in the morning, when an announcement of a ceremony being held was decreed by the King.
The decree meant that the Officials were coming to the palace, even those the rebellious subjects who did not even show their faces on the Lord Sang's return home.
At the time the Lord Sang had entered Gaegyeong, flying the flag of to Deokseong Buwongun and went to Ki-Cheol's house and participated in his nephew's first birthday party.
The excuse was that he had not yet heard the news of Joo-sang's return, which was one in Gaegyeong who believed.
They knew the chief mourner from the palace and had informed them that they were coming to see the King and of course just as expected Deokseong Buwongun Ki-Cheol was coming.
Chung Seok, the manager of Woodalchi, became increasingly worried, with the realisation all at one time they would be confronted with all these influential people with hidden agendas would be at the palace.
Would your Majesty's subjects do something that would go against the Lord's safety? Maybe we can change the location to the Seoninjeon of where the Lord Sang visits instead of at the palace.
Ma may have been manipulated by to Deokseong Buwongun to show humiliation to the Lord. Chung Seok was anxious that something might happen and was thinking of ways to prevent that from happening.
In order to do this, the Woodalchi soldiers guarding the chief minister need to be even more visable then they normally are.
Chung Seok was not sure how he needs to show it and what should be done. He wanted to go and discuss the issue with the captain.
Unfortunately, Taiwan was being stubborn being unaware of what was going happen. Taiwan refused to tell me where the captain was.
In a hurry, the mobilization of all of the Woodalchi members and formed a camp, from Ganganjeon, where the sleeping quarters are located, to Seoninjeon, where Pyeonjeon is located, there is no possible gap for any assassins to infiltrate and the reinforced the Palace guard, and the squadron was also built like a wall surrounded by Woodalchi.
The leaders of the guards that were in charge of a unit were all busy, with the preparations for the ceremony when new news arrived about the Heavenly Doctor being summoned by the King.
Chung Seok furrows his brows concerned that after his efforts in hiding the Sky Lady that he was hearing rumours about the Haneul Clinic.
The Lady from Heaven and the door that she came from. The people that had been fishing for information challenged the story to try and trick Chung Seok.
The result had been that the Woodalchi insisted that it was a door and that they had never seen a woman like her before, which is something the entire Woodalchi could came together to exhibit a level of solidarity seen if situations that could be described as sensitive.
The King summoned the Heavenly Doctor to the introduce her in front to the Heads of the Palace. It was during this introduction that her title of Uiseon was made official by Royal Command.
After that there is no way that denying her existence was like denying the right of His Majesty the Lord. Chung Seok quickly called Dolbae to the corner to quietly instruct him to,"Go to Jeonui City, take the Heavenly Councilor, and run away to wherever."
Dolbae looks at him with his mouth open dumbfounded, "What?" Chung Seok looks at him like it makes logical sense which the next words out of his mouth confirm, "You know a lot of women. Just hide it her in a random house, with them until the captain returns."
Dolbae recovers his composure to come to terms with what he is said and then decides to comply and run out.
The King had no intention of going that far, he had been, of course, apprehensive about meeting his ministers. Even though they are group of people that are his subjects. It makes him aware that in comparison to them, he held such a position at the age of 20.
It would be scary, and everyone will gather to seize whatever power they could. It's a job. Probably to impress someone like to Deokseong Buwongun Ki-Cheol.
While some will say brave things to the King, which made the King embarrassed at how proud that Officials looked after having made their position clear with their absence in welcoming their King home.
The fact that he was the only one of the groups that stand in front of him that had abandoned it and went to Deokseong Buwongun's house means that he was already on the other side. It is a notice that it is stuck in his head that they saw their new King as weak.
The behaviour on display was ugly and lousy, making him not doubt the King's decision to introduce the Heavenly Doctor to them.
It is only when you met those, we must meet those who come with the intention of hating us from the beginning. Only then will that decision be correct, to make it happen, no matter what.
The King had been so anxious about what he should do that he wanted to ask Choi Young who was always next to him of what he should do, how he should please them.
He could just see that arrogant attitude of not saying anything out loud under any circumstance that made him wonder what would make him look less ugly.
Jo Il-shin, no matter what it is, clearly points out what the King needs to think about taking advantage of Choi Young's absence.
It must have been until the sun peaked through the darkness of the palace that he had noticed that the morning had dawned, and it started to become noisy that it became apparent that Choi Young was not going to appear.
The King was informed that according to his sub-ordinates, he was not feeling well. The captain who does not lose, has come to the point where he was not feeling well.
The King thinks that the real reason is that the captain does not want to come, and he did not want to draw attention to the fact he was not there, so he could not call him using the King's command.
The reason the King choses to not command him is because of the story he heard last night, that made a deep impact on him.
Also, the constant refusals of the Queen Mother to allow him through her door to fulfil his morning greetings at breakfast, while the Queen his wife waits for him in the garden, is another refusal of acknowledgement that is added to the humiliation.
Jo Il-sin had made a strong argument to the despondent King, for him to "Show your kindness."
The King looks at him and asks him, "Will they believe it? That there is a Heaven, and a person from Heaven? Do you not think that it is a ridiculous story? Whether I believe it or not, you must earn it and then make it. I will think about it first. I will take my time."
The political adviser advises firmly, "God has all the plans. Just make them believe it." The King did not ask what kind of plan this was that Jo Il-shin has mentioned.
The strategy that the man has proposed is not something that is fair and something to be proud of. The King feels like he is such coward, that he cannot stop.
His heart speaks to the distant Queen who is beyond the wall, 'I do not want to show the one from Heaven to that person.'
Jo il-shin emphasizes again, "The Queen Mother must be with us and the the Princess of Won. If Your Majesty who has the Yuan Dynasty princess on one side and on the other hand, there is Uiseon who came from Heaven. You do not need to be afraid, Your Majesty, who will have women on both sides." The King laughs, feeling lonely and miserable.
Dolbae was a step late, when the stone boat arrived at Jeonui City, the court ladies were already waiting for Uiseon. Eun-soo was ironing and had noticed many Mugakshi carrying swords crossed on their backs. They had been soldiers that Head Court Lady Choi Sang, the head of Mugak City, personally selected and sent.
Dolbae is a friend of Mugak City who is close enough to talk to him during peacetime. Dolbae had called him forward to talk quietly, "You want to take me right away? If you do not take me right away, why? The name...…"
It was gold jade. Mugaksi Geumok quickly becomes suspicious that is reflected in his eyes, "There is a thing called procedure. In the first place, Woodalchi was our friend. He is a person who is serving people, so why do Mugakshis worship him?"
Dobae taunts him with, "What if you could find out what is only known above….? Mugakski says in suggestive way, "If you can find out, we can too."
Dobae goes on to propose his plan,"First of all, Uiseon cannot leave. We will entrust the protection of Uiseon to your Mugak soliders."
Mugakski then says, "You cannot go until you get confirmation from above that you can give it to me.
The Mugakshi will be able to take over the protection of such a famous name, rather than His Highness the Lord. Not until you get the confirmation or something, will you be able to come here."
Mugaksi and Woodalchi engage in martial arts sparring once a season, where resentments can be accumulated to involve the head of that side and the head of this side, to my aunt and nephew who looks to be the Leader there.
So, of course, the relationship between the two was not bad and the leader was perhaps Arthur, but it was no secret that all of his soliders had a dirty temper and there was a sense or understanding that we were allies, even if we were secretly competing.
The psychology of this was always there and was allowed free reign on the day of the martial arts sparring was held, when competitive spirits soared.
On the Woodalchi's side, there was a sense of desperation that they could not lose to the Mugakshi, their fighting spirit was great.
Whilst, personally, Dobae also did not want to lose to Mugakshi and he had a basic strength in contrast with Choi Young.
Woodalchi, who had been training to death, had the advantage, but, out of every five, there was one person who lost and that was Dobae because he was not good enough.
Of course there were other who lost, there was one who could not bear to give his all against a girl and another guy who lost to Buyeong.
In any case, they were Mugakshi who had outstanding martial arts skills and it was this which would make it impossible to take Uiseon away from their eyes.
Dolbae returned to see that Deok man and other people were carrying out preparations for the arrival of the Royal Officials and the Influential people of Goryeo.
Dolbae noticed that where there were normally two Woodalchis stationed there are now three and the way the leaders were giving the command to appear intimidating.
It is also becomes apparent when they change guard, they were commanded to do it as smoothly and seamlessly as possible, without drawing attention.
Why could they not draw attention? It was so that the attention of Geumok would not be drawn to take any notice of what is happening.
What on earth was the reason that the Mugaksi were so strict that they would go out in droves like this? It was hard to determine that, Geum-ok on of the maids chuckled asked, "How many of you came?"
Watching the play of expressions on his face, it was like she could see inside Dolbae as she asked that question. Dolbae answered as if saying, "What does it matter how many of us came? The Head Court Lady Choi also came herself.
This took her by surprise as she asks, "The Head Court Lady Choi sang-gung came herself? She is in there now?" He answered, "Yes." Damn she thinks, questions all done now.
Twelve hours have passed since the re-operation, and Choi Young had not regained consciousness. All night Eun-soo sat next to him and gave him a drink to replace his fluids. Eun-soo, who was checking the condition while pouring it into her mouth, felt exhausted both physically and mentally, but she kept doing what she had to, waiting for him to open his eyes.
It was when the women from the palace that arrived in the hallway to the inner room, called for her. The annoyance she felt was so great, that she was interrupted and was compounded with the need to stop them from entering the inner room that Choi Young is located, that she came out of the room closing the door.
She then met them in the long corridor that led to the inner room. Eun-soo firmly states, "I cannot move right now, there is a patient that I am needed to keep watch on in there. So, please inform the King I will come and visit him later."
Eun-soo then moved to go back inside, but somewhere along the way a middle-aged woman had moved behind her to block her way, without noticing.
Eun-soo looks at the woman who had moved behind her without her noticing. The sight of how her way is blocked increases her impatience at their quiet insistence.
The middle-aged woman firmly states, "It's the best. The place I am taking you to right now is close. Your Majesty, has decreed that you will meet the officials in a moment."
Eun-soo asks confused, "So?" The middle-aged woman simply explains, "His Majesty wants to introduce Uiseon to the officials on the spot."
Eun-soo is tired and frustrated, "No, it is okay. I just want to be quietly here. Who cares if I do that? I have no interest in being showed off like a dog or horse that he has newly acquired.
I have more important things to tend to. Like the patient I need to see right now." The woman called Choi Sang-gung came closer and asks in a low voice, "That patient? Is it Choi Young?".
Eun-soo looks at her in surprise, only Jang Bin knew that Choi Young was in a coma and had promised he would not tell anyone of it.
Lady Choi then goes on noticing her facial expression, "Your Majesty told me to say this again. Please attend the gathering today. Please let us spread the word about the existence of the One who came from Heaven in the sky."
Eun-soo feels torn as the only thing her mind is occupied with is that the person who has come to her side, when she has been in danger to help her.
Lady Choi sees she is contemplating, noticing how her eyes that go to the room behind her to the floor, to the room again, so she quietly but firmly presses, "Please testify. Then······ "
Court Lady Choi stops her words for a moment which makes Eun-soo anxious to ask, "Then what?" Lady Choi goes on to reminded her, "Uiseon must take Captain Choi Young as her escort. The King said he would command it."
Eun-soo takes another look at the woman named Choi Sang-gung, whose face does not betray any emotions, as it remains neutral.
Eun-soo remembers seeing this woman on arrival into the palace, she remembers how this middle aged lady had taken it upon herself to nag at Choi Young without hesitation. Eun-soo recalls how he had smiled at her without reservation.
She saw it clearly and remembered everything. A person who he would smile at, as she weighs the validity of what she has said. She must be someone she can trust, it must be true.
The thought makes her decide to go with the Head Lady, "Okay. Let us go." Eun-soo readily turns around, looking back briefly to mentally promise to herself and Choi Young who is in the room behind the door, that she will return.
She walks behind the Lady Choi as the other take up positions on either side of her, mentally she hopes his sugar levels will not drop. She bargains with him in her head, God knows how much he wanted to leave palace, right? I will help you leave, but in exchange you must stay alive.
Inside the room, Jang Bin was listening to the conversation on the other side of the door. It is when he heard that she was being called to Pyeonjeon, he felt anxious.
He knows there is no way to stop it and starts to feel anxiety set in. He glances at Choi Young who is still unconscious, and the outcome of the surgery has not resulted in the favourable outcome the Heavenly Doctor has declared.
He goes to feel his pulse which is so hard to feel through the vein that is on the wrist that he has to concentrate to just barely sense it.
Jang Bin frowns at how thin and weak it feels beneath his fingers, making him realise that "This person has no intention of coming back?"
Taiwan reacts sensitively to the statement that Jang Bin had said out loud without realizing it. Jang Bin looks at him in an apologetic way and says seriously, "Please guard the captain for a while."
Taiwan looks at Jang Bin with an expression that looks like it wants to challenge words that had been uttered and asks directly, "Where are you going… leaving the captain behind…?"
Jang Bin looks at him and says seriously, "I have to follow Uiseon, as long as you are here your captain will be is safe. Are you not going to take care of it?" Taiwan finally nods accepting what he has said.
The Queen making her way and is currently crossing the courtyard located between Ganganjeon and Gonseongjeon, while the Heavenly Doctor's group is also coming.
The King was waiting at the entrance to the river where flowers planted around for the Queen. As the Queen approached from the side, the King takes a step forward, to meet her and they walk side by side, facing forward to the Throne room.
The eunuchs and court ladies followed them, while Eun-soo walked behind the moving wall and the Mugak soliders stood lined the way on either side of the corridor.
Chung Seok followed at the closest distance from the King and is impressed at how the King and Queen converse, without even looking at each other, staring in front of them as they exchange what seems to be a discussion of what is waiting for them in the Throne room. It makes him wonder if they are always like that.
The conversation starts with the King say quietly, "I have not made up my mind yet. I wonder if it matters to the Queen which one I will choose. I think it does not matter which one I choose, the Queen will not see me in a favourable light."
The Queen responds, "You will not be able to lose it." The King asks, "Which side are you referring to?"
The Queen says simply, "One. You can try to be brave. But that's why you are in trouble. You can bow your head to please them and live with the ridicule of losing your power. Alternatively, you can confront them and risk losing your throne, which will put your life in danger."
The King nods, "Each decision has its own set of challenges which will be difficult, it will enable me to stay in this position for a little longer, which may end up being a long time. Which one would be more tolerable for the Queen?"
Like the King, Chung-Seok waits for the Queen's answer, anxiously waiting for her response. Eventually the Queen answered, "I do not want to put up with either."
The Queen stops walking suddenly the, which makes the group to the left suddenly stop walking as well.
The King noticing that she no longer walks beside him, stops, this makes the group that follows him also stop.
He looks at her slightly behind him noticing that she is looking around in an agitated way. He raises his eyebrows asking her what the problem was.
The Queen convinced that her eyes do not deceive her asks, "Where is Captain Woodalchi?" Chung Seok was about to respond, when the King answered first, "He is sick and cannot be here."
The Queen's surprised eyes look at the King making contact with his as she asks, "Is it a sickness…?" The sight of them as they gaze at each other seemingly communicating through their eyes makes Chung Seok quietly avert his gaze.
The moment takes an intimate turn as they both gaze at each other in a gentle way, that makes the Queen's eyes take a gleam of excitement. I
t makes her remember that the King leaves every morning to fulfil his morning greetings to his mother, while she waits in the garden for him.
They then walked down the road to Deokgyeongbu side by side, waited together, and then again to come back side by side.
In that company, the Queen never once froze. She never showed any sign of herself. She had a rather pleasant walk. Resulting in the Queen's face thawing to show peaceful look that had soothed the King's heart as he walked by her side, as he was upset.
His mother had refused his presence, day after day his attempts to see her are refused. Even while waiting, the King did not feel as miserable as at first, because the Queen is by his side.
So, when he answers there is gratitude in his voice, "Yes, there is no Woodalchi leader, so the first is impossible, and the second is my heart just cannot understand it, the third method is I think I should get drunk."
The Queen asks, "Are you willing to endure the third time?" Instead of answering, the King just smiled.
That smile makes a Queen ask with courage. "I was surprised. All these stories. What you said to me." T
he King is silent for a moment and all those that wait heads still bowed focusing on the floor in front of them waits in silence.
Finally, the King opened his mouth, "You... are with me even when I am laughed at and even when I am killed." The Queen says, "Because you are the one who deserves it."
On the day the King returned home, the empty pavilion was filled with Chinese characters. Li had been full of no empty spaces.
Andochi, the Kings personal eunuch, is one of those high-ranking officials who had witnessed all those who had taken a swing at his King.
Chung Seok had witnessed it all how they acted on the boat as it sailed long, as they sang sonorously to the King, calling out. "Your Majesty, please enjoy it."
The ministers stand up from their seats, and their appearance shows that they have no sense of awe, respect and exhibit just a whiff of condescending frivolity, soaked in alcohol.
The combination of smell from the wet alcohol was strong. It comprised of a mixture of freshly spilled alcohol on top of old stale alcohol.
It was evidence of how long they had been drinking. It's like they were competing against each other in who could smell the worst. As if, the one that produces a stronger smell is something to be prouder of.
The King entered, seemingly oblivious to the current appearance of the Officials and physical stench that emits to fill the air in theroom. To walk the path to the Throne without any hesitation
Watching the King walk to the throne, for some reason makes Andochi feel overwhelmed and choked up looking at the King whom he had served for over ten years.
Andochi recalls the emptiness of the Throne room on the Kings arrival which seemed to reflect the loneliness and pain of the path the King walks.
Andochi feels his vision blur with tears, making him blink to swallow them at the realisation that his Lord is finally returning to his proper place and he is by his side to see it.
The Woodalchi members passed by on both sides of the King as he took the Throne, which sits centre of the surrounding Pyeonjeon.
The ministers all bow to the King who has reached the Throne. Among them are those who secretly open their eyes to check the King's appearance.
However, those who did that could not help but flinch and lower their heads, because they had met the young King's honest gaze.
Andochi took note of the ones that did this, while the King looks at his ministers one by one as if to engrave their image in his brain.
At the same time the King was suppressing the tremors that were trying to spread from deep in his abdomen, as the sight of them reminds him that they had rejected him, their King and left him with the memory of the indelible humiliation they had dealt.
He tries not to blame anyone, and it is normal for resentment to shake anyone's emotions and is common.
The King is fully aware that showing any sign of emotion will make him appear weak, resolving to take a neutral stance he sits slowly on the throne.
In an instant, the King was engulfed in the thick golden patterned cushion of the large throne, which triggered a hallucination that he was going to fall.
Finally, the sight of Andochi coming back brings the King to his senses, to see that the Queen's chair has been prepared so that it sits on the side and on a step below his Throne.
The Queen then approaches, to bow in front of him and then sit down in the chair prepared. The King can see the side of her face that is visible in profile, but to her subjects, it is hidden by a veil and only the rim of what it hangs of is visible.
At that time, one of the subjects stand to bow heads down, arms raised to shoulder height, hands raised to be held horizontal, fingertips meeting like they are holding a big ball to say in unison.
"Your Majesty the King. Your Highness the Queen. Seeing your Royal bodies in good health....I am very thankful to the Heaven's protection." The King nods in acceptance of their greeting and commands, "Please, have a seat."
The King thinks, 'This is abominable.' The thought gave him strength to then straightened his back, lifted his head. He looks down penetratingly at his subjects, before smiling and responding;
"It is so. I am aslo thankful for Heaven's protection. I am sure you heard the news, but the path from Yuan to here, this royal palace...was quite perilous."
The Royal officials looked on in confusion at the King's unexpected words as he points to the Queen to continue, "The Queen, for a moment even lost her life."
The last statement results in the ministers whispering to one another. One can be heard asking in a confounded voice, "What on earth do he mean by that?" another says, "Hey…. that is exaggerating."
The King smiled, raised his hand to indicate that they should be silent and then said, "Why are you so surprised, as if this is your first-time hearing this? Hawata's gate to the Heavens open and a doctor was sent, to bring the Queen back to life, again."
The King now stands up to walk down the steps to make his way closer to where his subjects are." He continues in a challenging way, "Did you all not know, that someone sent an assassin and that the Queen's throat was cut off by a assassin's knife..."
The King accompanies the last part with his hands that mimic the motion of cutting his neck. The ministers that who held positions high in the rank and those who held middle ranked position all pretend to be surprised. While the King is fully aware of the instigators.
It is a sight that the Queen and the King find amusing as they watch the exaggerated ways that they show shock. Of course, the King and Queen do not show their amusement and continue to look at them with a solemn face.
The King pauses for a moment as he looks at all the ministers who are now looking at his face continues;
"I have thought and thought about it again. "What does this mean?" The Heavens....not Yuan nor Seonyeok. How must it be Goryeo? Why have the Heavens sent a Doctor to a feeble King like me? What do you think? Moreover, the healer has told me. What I have to do. What I can do for this nation's tomorrow and the after, where I am written in the Heavens. You ministers...want to hear it too?"
The Pyeonjeon is so quiet that you could hear a needle if it were to fall and hit the ground. Without realising it he had used it.
The King sensed when the silence of astonishment at what he had said started to change to that of strong distrust.
The King had already made sure to spread rumours about Uiseon in Gaegyeong, to garner interest and to filter through the gossip so they must have heard stories about her, otherwise they would not be compelled to come to this ceremony.
Would they have believed it then. Probably not. Of course, the King would not have believed it either, if he had not been there to see it.
Noticing how the distrust becomes more evident as it spreads through those that sit in front of him, makes him lose confidence in what he is trying to do.
The King thinks 'Why did I think this story would work?' But the King knows he cannot stop now and raises his hand and points to his right to introduce, "The person sent from Heaven for this country, Goryeo and its people. I brought her with me."
A sudden sound came from the door as a figure comes through it to go crashing to the ground. It was Eun-soo who was led to the back door of the hall, where the King normally uses to come and go.
Lady Choi Sang-gung opened the door and Eun-soo looks through the open door to see that it is the wide hall that she had visited before.
Now in that same wide hall are men in flashy clothes which filled the room...…the sight makes her panic and before she realises it she closes the door taking the Lady Choi by surprise.
Eun-soo notices this and stutters to explain, "No... hey... wait a minute. Why are there people in there like that? Are there a lot of them?"
Lady Choi answers, "All the officials in Gaegyeong have gathered. Of course, there are many." Eun-soo eyes get even bigger at the answer and asks astounded;"
You're asking me to say something in front of those people. How can you just throw someone in like that? What kind of speech is this? Is there anything similar? Anything worth reference..."
Lady Choi Sang-gung cuts Eun-soo off in a tone that makes her feel intimidated, yet difference asks, "You said you came from Heaven, right?"
Which makes her answer, "No. After all it was not me that said I was from Heaven to start with but the world I live in is different from this one."
Lady Choi the asks, "Then what are you afraid of? Of telling lies? No, you just have to tell it like you know it…"
Eun-soo looks at a loss for words thinking that what she said was a bit obvious, but it still made her nervous. It was at this time she caught the sight of Jang Bin who was passing by the door that she had been trying to escape out of. Eun-soo calls out "Teacher Jang."
Jang Bin welcomes Eun-soo as if he had happened upon her by chance. He comes into the room and sees the door to the Throne room that she is standing nearby.
Raising his eyes he opens the door a little and looks inside, then open the door again, to look at Eun-soo and says, "Uiseon?", who answers, "Please do something for me. I am bad at giving speeches. Is that some kind of hearing room?"
Jang Bin suggests, "How would you feel about it, if I stand behind you." Eun-soo thinks exasperatedly, 'You're going to stay behind? Is that all you can do?'
At the same time, she has bent her head and rubs her head with her hands, messing up her hair while she does this, it is a habit that she has when she is extremely frustrated.
It ends in her hair which falls in front of her eyes and looking extremely tussled and puffed up. Eun-soo sighs and then she sweeps her hair back into place, combing her fingers, through her hair to get to sit the way she wants it to fall, which calms her mind.
Other things came to her attention like the feel of her hair that has been washed without rinse or conditioner becomes brittle.
How she, really did not like it all both the feel of her unconditioned hair and having to get in front of those men to speak.
Determination sets in as she thinks 'If you cannot avoid it, you should choose to enjoy it. Okay. Let us get it done." It was at that moment, there was a strange tension that has taken over the atmosphere in the room.
The reason becomes clear when word is sent to inform the King that Deokseong Buwongun Ki-Cheol has arrived and is walking down the long corridor heading towards the Throne room.
Ki-Cheol enters, flanked on both sides, Yang Sa and Ao, who are his advisers in how best to exert his influence and acquire the power he craves.
After all he was able to hold government position thanks to his older brother. Regardless of his support, he personally would not dare discuss national affairs with the King.
It is truly true that he brings his personal advisor to the side. It was a reckless thing to do, but no one pointed it out.
The role personal advisor is visiable in separate official uniform prescribed by D. The uniform is white. Joe Roha was wearing fancy-looking civilian clothes. He has nothing to say.
Gwon and Yangsa had stayed to stand in preparation at the entrance of Pyeonjeon, when Ki-Cheol had walked in.
Ki-Cheol walks with determination and speed, with an aura of intimidation that he uses on battlefields, to enter the Throne room to say with avoice full of authority, "This is really very hopeless."
He then walks on the walkway that runs up the middle, as the ministers seated on either side bow their heads as he makes his way towards the King saying, "Your Majesty, I am Ki-Cheol, Prince of the Deokseong, to be in the King's audience, I came running here. However, what is this outrageous talk? Gate to Heaven. Divine Healer. High Doctor?"
Ki-Cheol stops walking even when he reaches the foot of the platform where the Throne sits. Finds the distance inadequate proceeds to go up the stairs straight to the top where the King sits on the Throne that is placed on the platform to then size up the guard stationed behind. Chung-Seok reacts to step forward, but the King raised his hand and stopped him.
Ki-Cheol raises his eyes at the action and then continues to say in a more measured way as if to advise the King, "Though Your Majesty is young age..... Though you left the palace and live a long time in a foreign nation.... Thought what you see and hearr is dizzying... You are the King of Goryeo."
The King just watches Ki-Cheol's performance, with no change in his expression. When suddenly Ki-Cheol turns his head to look towards the minister to demand, "Just which B####D!" which makes everyone in the room flinch, and he continues to say, "Told the King such nonsence?!
Ki-Cheol then asks, "What kind of person would dare whisper the nonsense of a person from Heaven? Is the Dragon saying you have been deceived?"
Ki-Cheol looks to one side, to see the exposed side of the Queen's profile is the same there. The Queen is sitting upright looking in front of her, feeling the anger rise within her and start to heat her face, which becomes evident as what can be seen turns red.
The sight makes Ki-Cheol smile and now he looks back to the other side, where Eun-soo sits on a chair, after trip while entering the room.
It makes him, move toward her saying in way that is demanding, "Is that a monster over there?" pointing with a raised hand that is raised by his outstretched arm.
Everyone's attention is directed to the person he points to, following the pointed finger with their eyes.
It was the woman who had walked into the room before she trips and goes falling to the floor. She had quickly gets up dusts herself off and continues to stand to move to the chair that Lady Choi indicates that she should sit. It has placed on the side but positioned so that she almost sits opposite the Queen.
The Woodalchis, also entered in a large number taking positions to surround the room and take Chung Seok's lead, to take the stance of swordsmanship. The sudden crowding of the guards around the King happened simultaneously.
They are all aware of what can be thrown from Ki-Cheol's hands was a weapon, that is summoned using the inner energy like their captain.
It is a possibility that cannot be dismissed. The unpredictability of an undetectable weapon being used in front of the King, was a threat they could not take lightly.
However, Ki-Cheol looked at the King walking him toward him with a relaxed smile."Your Majesty, please leave it to God. God will reveal the true nature of the monster. I will."
Ki-Cheol had watched how the King had been surrounded by the Woodalchis and went towards Eun-soo. Chung-Seok takes a step in the direction of where Eun-soo is and is torn as it his sole responsibility as the leader is to protect the King.
Ki-Cheol stands a few steps away from Eun-soo with his back to King. He looks her up and down before he stands intimidatingly, look down at her to say in a challenging way, "You, the wiley one. You with the appearance of a woman. Answer me."
Eun-soo not understanding this situation at all, looks around and thinks, 'Who? Me?' Ki-Cheol demands, "I am talking to you the wiley one. Answer me." Eun-soo looks at the unpleasant-looking man and asks, 'What are you saying? Who asked you to stand there?"
Eun-soo then tried to turn around thinks twice about what she was going to say, thinking that, 'maybe it was best to avoid him, like you should do with drunks and crazy people and not talk back.' It is something she had learned while working in an office for a short time.
It was then she had heard a voice which she recognised from behind. Looking in the direction of where it had come from, she sees it is Jang Bin.
She had forgotten that he had followed her. He appears to be standing to be hidden behind a pillar not far away. She is quickly brought back to the present when he says low enough for her to hear, "Do not run away. If you run from here, you will die."
Eun-soo looks at him with wide eyes as she thinks, 'Dying... Why?' She the looks in the direction of the unpleasant looking guy that has been hounding her. The phrase do not run away is contrary to the feeling that she has to escape.
She asks him urgently, "He would not seriously kill me for real, right? She is interrupted as Ki-Cheol demands, "Wiley one! Did I not say to answer me?!" When suddenly the tension that has built is broken by the King;s laughter.
Eun-soo suddenly is surprised when she hears the Kings laughter, which breaks into her thoughts. She quickly glances at the unpleasant guy and notices that his attention is on the King.
The sound of the young King's laughter rings throughout the room showing no fear in front of the Ministerss and Ki-Cheol's to say in clear amusement, who is looking a bit confused, "Indeed. Indeed."
The King then stands to look at Ki-Cheol in an amicable way to continue with, "As expected, from the minister who is the Prince of Deokseong. When I was in Yuan, Empress Ki always spoke of you.
Ki-Cheol looks at him with suspision but does not interrupt him, as the King continues, "The fact that I am seated here today is thanks to you and your sister. I am well aware of that as well."
Ki-Cheol looks at him with doubt and confirms questioningly, "You are aware of it?" The King answers, "Empress Ki said this when I left Yuan. That when I return to my homeland, the Prince of Deokseong would watch my every move. Hence this is nothing to worry about. Therefore, even if he does not extend courtesy to the King, or if he walks straight up to the Throne, do not be startled."
The King steps down from the platform, to leave Ki Cheol standing there, as he proceed to walk the path that runs in the middle of the ministers, to make eye contact with them while he says, with clear amusement, "That if the impertinent behaviour should frighten the Goyreo ministers, I should calm down."
The royal ministers who made eye contact with the King averted their gaze one by one. The King then looks at Ki-Cheol to say in a jovial way,"Ki-Cheol, the Prince from Deokseong. Older brother of Empress Ki of Yuan. Does not lack loyalty to the King, which is why he acts so. In fact, he is so overflowing with loyalty that he cannot control his passion."
The King the looks at his ministers to say, "Look here. Look at how he ran so worried that I may be decieved by someone treacherous." He then turns back to Ki-Cheol to praises, "That loyalty
Ki-Cheol is looking at the King with a mixture of confusion, suspicion and specultation, he then moves to walk down the steps to stand in front of the King.
Chung Seok feels like he cannot even breathe properly because he is watching them both, the King and Ki-Cheol, closely trying to anticipate what is going to happen.
Ki-Cheol then asks in a more calm and measured way, "So, then Your Majesty is saying that thing is indeed from Heaven? You believe in such frothy talk?"
"I believe it." The sudden interruption came from the Queen as she came to her feet. She walks to move further away from her chair, taking off her veil. Ki-Cheol looks in her direction to see her standing there with something white stuck on her neck, that peaks out of her collar
The Queen commences with an announcement as she declares with a firm voice;
"I am your Queen, the daughter of Beir Temur, King of Yuan. On the way out Yuan, while on the journey to Goryeo. An assassin was sent by someone that my neck cut off by an assassin by his sword."
The Queen then proceeded to do something that no one expected. She roughly grabbed the collar that was wrapped around her neck and pulled it down.
The action exposed her thin white neck and showed the entire white adhesive bandage which was attached to it.
She grabbed the bandage with her hand and pulled it off. The sound of breath being taken in here and there can be heard as they see the long surgical wound that is being held together with stitches. The red blood that covers the area of the wound shows that it is not healed.
The Queen stands tall showing off her noble inner self, as she continues, "This is the wound on my neck that Uiseon over there was able to put back together. There is no such thing on this earth. Are there any other lawmakers with such talent?" While the people on the either side were preoccupied with the Queen.
Eun-soo is standing watching with Palace Chief Choi, who was standing close behind, spoke lowly. "You must look like someone from Heaven." Eun-soo asks, "So what should I do?" the answer is, "Do not cry…" Eun-soo asks, "Do not be nervous...." Eun-soo feel like screaming for someone to explain this situation, she looked behind her and saw Jang Bin in the same spot as before, who makes eye contact with her. The sight of his gaze calms her because she feels that he is trustworthy. Jang Bin advises her in a low voice, "Do as you do in Heaven." Just like have done before. Just like when ・・・・・・ The truth is that the patient is making nonsense. Just like you did when you caught it...?
Eun-soo thinks 'No way. It will get me kill me. Should I do it? Good. Let us do it.' She is weighing her options as she still has a little understanding of the situation, gathers courage and then she hears laughter.
Looking in the direction of the laughter to see Ki-Cheol who is bending back with laughing like it is all fun and games.
He is enjoying the fact that the young King and Queen may have been caught with the officials witnessing how they are caught like a fish.
He regains his composure to say with humour in his voice, "Ah. Your young and pitiful majesty. Queen Mother. Who would believe that? Who did it? Was it the Woodalchi Captain Choi Young? Was it him?"
Both the King and Queen's face changed at the sound of Choi Young's name that came out of Ki-Cheol's mouth. Noticing their nervousness made Ki-Cheol more concerned about the situation after the reactions of those two.
It became apparent that they were not the only ones as another person had become nervous at the name being uttered, it was Eun-soo, who thinks 'Choi Young? Who is this person?'
Ki-Cheol continues as he angrily challenges the King, "Choi Young. That guy brought that amazing thing and said he was a person from Heaven. Did he deceive the two of you? That's what I heard. Did you really believe she is from God?"
The change of subject was not something that the King had not expected. The King is unable to answer, which encourages Ki-Cheol to call out, "Woodalchi Choi Young! Where are you?!"
Ki-Cheol's gaze passes over the guards of the Woodalchi, including Chung Seok, looking for a telltale sign of where the captain is.
The Woodalchi's hold their breath, hands on their swords in preparation of taking them out, waiting for the King to give the order, as Ki-Cheol continues, "If I cannot take that wicked, vicious bastard away right away. Is it?"
Ki-Cheol let out a sound with a hint of energy, and the audience was shocked. The room if full of everyone murmering amongst themselves. When suddenly a loud sound was suddenly heard.
It was the chair that Eun-soo was sitting on that scrapped on the floor as she stumbled to her feet to say loudly, "That will not work."
Ki-Cheol was dumbfounded and turned around to see the woman named Uiseon who was staring at him in a confrontational way, "Do monsters speak human language?"
Ki- Cheol splutters as he yells, "You are WICKED!!!"
Eun-soo let out a laugh thinking, 'What kind of animation am I in?' as she watches the person standing in front her, finding it a little funny because he spits as he talks.
The behaviour of the unpleasant man continues and Eun-soo steps forward and lifted the skirt that lifts the hem of my long dress, which she had tripped on earlier.
She does this as she straightens her back, to make herself taller and holds her head up with authority.
It is the stance taken to project the confident posture of a competent doctor as she says with authority in her voice, "That Woodalchi Choi Young, he is my patient now. I am the doctor in charge of his condition, and no one can take him without my permission. Yes?"
Ki-Cheol is speechless and then shouts indignantly. "Yes? YOU WITCH!!!"
But rather than being frightened, the woman standing in front of him raises her eyebrows and then proceeds to lift her chin for her eyes to glare at him to ask, "What?"
He glares back starts to threaten, "How dare you act carelessly in front of me…!"
Eun-soo then warns, "You should be careful what you say…. Are you talking casually and using double-sounding sounds?"
This time, Ki-Cheol was truly speechless as she continues with her barrage "I think someone is shaking because they do not know how to say Ssangsori. Screw it, at this age I'm even being called a witch. "Everyone in the room was speechless as she challenges, "Hey, how old are you?"
Ki-Cheol opened his mouth, but could only say one word, "What?" Eun-soo then moves to walk around him looking him up and down saying;
"Looking at it, that is the mannerism of someone who is old. What is it? You think I am holding back because I am in front of the King, who knows exactly where I came from. I come from Heaven. I treated the Queen's wound, and I am staying for a while because of medical expenses and as soon as treatment is finished. I will be going back, so just be quiet∙∙∙∙∙∙ Yes? Be quiet and go. I wish you would. Even in Heaven, I tend to have a bad temper and if you rub me the wrong way, I can turn history upside down just because."
Eun-soo takes advantage of the unpleasant man's astonishment and moves to bow in front of the King with a brave attitude to state, "I can tell you this much, right? Then I'm busy, so I will stop…"
Eun-soo was about to sneak towards the door, but in the blink of an eye, Ki-Cheol blocks her way. The move was seen by Chung Seok who moves to confront him, resulting in one of Ki-Cheol's hands that is now covered with white frost, being blocked with the hilt of Chung Seok's sword that is currently in preparation of being unsheathed where one inch of the blade can be seen, anticipating the King's permission. It makes a cracking sound as the frost meets the steel.
No matter how little Eun-soo understands the situation, the person who had moved to block her path radiates so much energy that she can feel it despite the guard who stands in between them.
The feeling makes her even more scared than she was before as the last time she had felt anything like it was when she behind Choi Young when he had generated a similar energy when he kidnapped her to break through the police barricade to escape.
Ki-Cheol asks quietly, "Monster. Do you want to die?" At that moment, fear triggered adrenaline and Eun-soo's mind, which made the memory cell in her brain to function vigorously.
It reminded her of the time she was taking the CSAT, and her brain had done the same thing, which resulted in her receiving a top grade in all he subjects.
Even the contents of the historical drama that Jenga watched are played all at once as the names she has heard and memorised as part of the rhyme run through her mind trying to locate and compare any information that she may have learned during her schooling years.
Ki-Cheol? King Gongmin? Goryeo language? And then states out loud, "Anyway, this Yuan Dynasty and its prestige. It will not last long. Just trust me and do what I say."
The ice energy of Jin-ki, which was about to be activated, gathers in Ki-Cheol's hand and stops. Chung Seok blocks the sight of what sits in the palm of his hand was ice ball that had injured the joint on Chung Seok's foot earlier.
So, of course, Eun-soo has no idea what form the energy she has felt and continues with the theme of what she had said, as the instinct to overpower the one who is blocking her way makes her desperately speak, "Tang... Yo... Yuan... Ming... So, after the Yuan Dynasty. When did the Ming Dynasty begin? Want to know? Ah... You said your name was Ki Cheol, right? I know how you die, Joe. Do you want to know when and how it ends?"
Ki-Cheol looks surprised at the sudden statements that are being said in a way that leaves him no room to answer. Eun-soo continues hands on hips as she challenges him, "I know what the future holds.... If you want to know, be polite and come back and I will see if I feel benevolent enough to tell you."
Eun-soo then looks around at the other men in the room, one has his hand over his mouth and other are watching with rapt fascination. She feels disgusted and thinks, 'Ugh…. Politics...How come they all look so similar?
Eun-soo the directs what she says to the room, "Subjects gathered here. Listen carefully. The King over there, he would later become the most famous King in the history of Goryeo.
If you want to leave your name in the history books, take care of it yourself. I say so. Do not be swayed by someone who does not live long."
Ki-Cheol laughed lowly in a malevolent way and then smiles in a way that is filled with the inner strength that is ready to be unleashed on her.
Eun-soo's body reacts by starting to shake without realising it as some deep innate fear has taken hold and she barely restrains herself from escaping to hold her ground to show no fear as she challenges not breaking eye contact,"Why? Do you not believe it? If you do not believe it, there's nothing we can do."
It when she says the last thing that an idea occurred suddenly occurs to me, that these people do not know English.
The realisation makes the temptation to resort to a language that they are unfamiliar with irresistible as she adds one more word.
The words that unpleasant man had said echoes through her head, as she thinks, 'What? Wicked? Witch? Do you want to die?' The memory of these things adds fuel to her anger and results in force to her words as she yells at Ki-Cheol in English, "HEY YOU, PUNK!!!!!! GO TO HELL!!!!!
Eun-soo then turns towards the King as graceful as can be, presenting a dignified posture as possible, like nothing has happened and requests formally, "May I leave, Your Majesty?"
The King is embarrassed and confounded by the interaction that has happen, but allows it, by saying, "You may leave, Uiseon."
Eunsu did her best to maintain a leisurely pace to hide how shaky her legs and body feel as she leaves to walk towards the door.
She almost stumbles on the hem of her clothes again but manages to keep her balance and make it through the door that closes behind her as walks a few steps before her legs give way, shaking uncontrollably as strength leaves her body.
Jang Bin moves forward to catch her mid fall, before she collapses fully to the floor. Eun-soo feels that she is being supported in a hug from behind and looks to see who it is, to see that it is Jang Bin.
Relieved to see him she starts to tremble as he comforts her with words of support, "Well done. A little too well...."
During this time Choi Young has remained same, lying in the inner room which was faced east where he had been left lying, where he entered deep coma.
Sunlight began to leak through the windows as the afternoon wore on. The last time the sunlight shines is on the Bantu leaning against the door frame of the window.
It illuminates the police shields of 100,000 people and shows Choi Young-ui lying on top of them.
Shine the sword. It was with this sword that he stabbed his master, Wen Qi hu, to death. It had then stabbed Choi Young, who became the owner, to death.
I am doing it. The name people call him is Ghost Sword. (Author Note: called Demon Sword before in translation. But now called Ghost Sword in translation.)
It has red on the handle. A black cloth with visible Red Crescent Moon red embroidery, that is tightly twisted and tied to it.
Taiwan sat next to Choi Young beside him to keep an eye on him like the Doctors have asked him to.
He tries to feel the captain's wrist, to see if he can feel a pulse like the Doctors but finds it to feel anything.
Not only does he not know how to feel for a pulse but does not know that Jang Bin has had trouble with feeling the captain's pulse.
Out of fear, he pulled out a dagger and held it under the captain's nose, to see if he can see the evidence of breath form on its blade.
He watches for longer than normal. Making him worried that he thought the captain was gone, but then the blade suddenly blurs very slightly, as breath is expelled from the captain's body.
Taiwan is relieved that he is still alive, even though there seemed to be a change in the captain's expression, he guessed he saw it wrong. The captain was just the same.
Choi Young was still there, on the frozen lake, he did not know since when, but his father was right next to him. Come to think of it, the male figure had said he was his father.
So, he is sitting next to his father (Ji) and casting a fishing rod into a hole in the ice if front of him. His father, who sits next to him, also has a fishing rod that has a line that has been casted into a hole in the ice in front of him.
The hole reveals what is at first glance looks like ripples of water on the surface, but when you take a longer look the reality of what inside shows a dark hole that is like an abyss of unknown depths.
They both sit on the bank side by side in silence holding the fishing rods as the lines dangle from them into the water waiting for the fish to take the bait.
Suddenly the silence is broken when his father asks, "Are you still in your heart?" Choi Young knows who he is talking about answers as, sadness rumbles within his chest "It is still there. It has not been returned."
The feeling of sadness increases as it comes rushing up, it reminds him of how he felt that day on Songak Mountain, where had run like crazy.
It was on the mountain, the fallen leaves piled up to a depth beyond his ankles and kept covering his feet, delaying his progress.
The Red Moon Crescent Army's chiefs were the first to receive plum blossoms before being imprisoned. They had said Mae hee escaped on a ship.
Instead, Choi Young, had found her kneeling under a big tree that they used to frequent in their time off.
He approached her, while she remained kneeling down on her knees, making the words she said, clear enough for him to hear that they were straight from the heart.
She spoke audibly, "You somehow survive. Wherever you are, know that wherever you are, I will come to you. You know that, right? Because I am going to go find it."
Choi Young remembers clearly every time, how her eyes had taken a far-off look like they were not looking at anything as she says it again and again, it made him feel impatient.
So, he tries to make her focus on him as he demands urgently, quietly, compellingly, "Look at me. I promise. I will protect you, so you just have to.... You just have to trust me. Are you listening to me?"
Mae hee responds despondently, "I killed the captain." Choi Young tries to desperately change her path of thought, "It was the King who killed the captain. Stop talking nonsense and remember it properly."
Mae hee responds faintly, "I will be a burden." Choi Young counters with, "Be a burden. If I have a burden, I can live too. Mae hee, if you become my burden, I can live with a smile. You know what I'm saying, right?"
If only he had caught Mae hee sooner and persuaded her more, but Choi Young was running out of time.
Time was limited and running out fast, as he also had to persuade the remaining Red Moon Crescent members after the captain's death.
It was up to him to soothe those who were vomiting blood and he had to save them. It was a command from his teacher and a covenant he gave to his teacher.
It was a covenant that was heavy on the twenty-two-year-old Choi Young, who felt both fear and hate because of it.
He had felt like he was going to die, so to convince Mae hee he pleaded with her, "You save me, Mae hee."
Mae hee was not able to meet Choi Young's eyes at his plea, before they separated for safety due to the Kings order being carried out.
The next day, a Kings guard had come to assassinate those in Leadership positions of the Red Moon Crescent Army.
It was also when Mae hee had not showed up at the appointed place, making him search like crazy. Holding out hope that she could not go anywhere he would not be able to find.
Choi Young looked for traces of her, searching all the places she was known to frequent and those that they shared on a more intimate level and asking people that where familiar with her if they had seen her.
It was not until the sun was setting that day that someone had informed him of the direction that she had been seen to be heading. It was toward Songak Mountain.
Eun-soo enters long hallway that leads to the inner room with Jang Bin, to see Taiwan who had been inside, running out. Clearly upset he says, "Something strange is happening."
Eun-soo and Jang Bin enter to see that the seizures have started again. Jang Bin quickly rushes over to lay Choi Young on his side and wrapped a cloth around his mouth to keep him from biting his tongue.
Dougie enters with clean bedding and Jang Bin instructs her to put it down to help him, control the captain's body to stop it from falling off the table.
Eun-soo meanwhile was just watching, staying out of the way wishing that she had a monitor that could show her at a glance heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation and blood pressure.
At the sound of the door closing roughly, with Dougie's exit, after Choi Young's condition finally calmed down.
Jang Bin turned around and saw Eun-soo, who appeared to be distracted or still recovering from her ordeal in the throne room.
Eun-soo was searching her brain to find a solution to how a person could end up like this after such a successful surgery.
The patient was barely breathing and alive due to his slow pulse which seemed to be pushed by some kind of force. Why did he have a seizure?
Jang Bin went to feel Choi Young's pulse, concentrating to feel what was going on inside vein.
It seems that the gallbladder biliary tract appears to be blocked. His meridians are not flowing towards his head. Joksoyang damgyeong flowing down the side of his body is emotionally related to anger.
The appearance of Choi Young's face is pale enough to turn blue and it looks like the patient has given up in both mind and heart.
The pile of complications makes Jang Bin resort to acupuncture. One needle is placed on the Im-eup acupuncture point located on Choi Young's foot.
This will ease the flow of Dam-gyeong for a moment, but will it enable Choi Young to take care of this person. The is a chance he will not be able to make it happen.
Eun-soo was standing quietly in a corner of the room, struggling to come to terms with the turn of events. Clearly, she had performed a surgery which was successful so why was her patient dying?
Jang Bin notices how she holds herself, arms wrapped around her middle as she tries to stay in control and asks her, "Are you okay?"
The question and everything she experienced in the throne room to what is happening in front of her results in her bursting into tears;
"I just don't understand. I took everything out and there was no blood in the surrounding tissue. The fluid started to run, and the fever went down, so why is he still not coming to his senses?"
At the sight of those big eyes that fill with tears, makes Jang Bin concerned that the medical arts in Heaven were very different compared to the ones found here.
It was like the medical tools that are only used in the sky, where it seemed that to have such tools, to practice Heavenly medicine, that sounded like lawmakers decided if they were allowed to practice it.
Jang Bin has become aware while during his time with her that the words and letters written in Heaven also look different from those on earth.
He had noticed that Uiseon could not read the letters that were written here very well, and the words he used were sometimes unfamiliar to her. It was just like when she said things, as well not understanding some things that Jang Bin could not understand.
So, he decides to say somethings to the one from Heaven that under normal circumstances he would never dare to speak, but does as a last resort, "I am a middle-class doctor. Some would even describe me as a lower-costume doctor."
Eun-soo taken by surprise at the change in topic and not fully understanding what he is saying, asks "I beg your pardon?"
Jang Bin explains, "Lower-level doctors cure diseases, middle-level doctors heal people, that is how it is all done. While you, Uiseon cured the captain's illness, but the man has not been cured yet."
Uiseon looks straight ahead, contemplating what he said. He watches her face changing to show that she has understood his explanation as she asks, "That guy, he does not want to live?"
Jang Bin then goes on to explain, "This is not the first time the captain has suffered a sword injury. Because it is deep, it heals on its own without using any medicine and regains new life. I used to listen to it."
Eun-soo asks, "Why is it not doing it this time?" Jang Bin answers, "I guess it is different this time. We need to get ready."
Eun-soo's big eyes get even bigger, "What?" Jang Bin explains, "The captain's soul has already passed away." She is confused by what he is saying demands, "What are you saying?"
Jang Bin says, "The body is just holding on by itself. It is not something that anyone can change." He watches her expression change from confusion to anger which she contains, as she directs her gaze to the man lying on the table. It seemed that a person's soul is something not even Heaven can do anything about.
Jang Bin slowly follows Uiseon gaze and prepares his heart. It is not like he does not knows his friend's past years well.
He remembers how relieved the other man had looked when he had told him that after his last mission, he could leave the palace once he was finished.
He remembers him wanting to raising cows and spend his days fishing. He had heard how the King was wanting to hold him by force.
Jang Bin wonders if it was because greed, like he had felt himself to keep him here according to his will.
Although Jang Bin thought that the King should just let him go. His anger rises in frustration wondering what it takes, for a person to decide to die.
The soul will be marked to hold such deep anger, it will remain as resentment, that will carry into the next life. Do you know that captian?
