Chapter 17

Hank looked at the document on the table and asked, "Are you not signing it?"

For some reason, although Hank's voice was pleasant, Yen's skin crawled when he heard it. After a long while, he said hesitantly, "Master Bishop... Sara is still my daughter after all..."

Yen didn't dare to say much nor look at Hank's face. His nervousness was evident through his sweating forehead, "I have looked after her for so many years, how could I..."

Beside him, Lilly was scared to death as well. She had never expected Sara to bring Master Bishop. But if they signed the agreement, it would be too much of a loss that she didn't want to imagine it.

"Master Bishop..." Lilly said in a weeping tone, "We understand that Sara wants to attend Scrollania. Her father only needs to sign the transfer document, why do you need the guardianship to be transferred? She's our daughter.."

Yen quickly echoed, "Yes, Master Bishop..."

"Bang!" A metal object slammed against the glass table and made a loud, piercing noise. Hank had a vague smile on his face, and he seemed a little fatigued. But his eyes were filled with rage, "I'll ask one last time. Are you going to sign or not?"

What smashed on the glass table was a black pistol, its shade was so dark that there was not a single reflection of light!

As soon as Yen and Lilly laid their eyes on the pistol, their mind went blank. Yen's knees gave out and fell on to the sofa, while Lilly screamed in fright.

William, who had been quiet since Hank's appearance, her pupils shrunk and she desperately wished the ground would swallow her.

Yen couldn't stop shivering. "...I, I'll sign it! I'll sign it!" He quickly said.

Sara, his illegitimate daughter, was not as important compared to his life.

Sara watched as Yen's trembling hands signed the agreement. Even though she knew that Yen had never sincerely taken her as his daughter, she still felt a little hurtful.

If it was William's transfer agreement he was forced to sign, Yen would at least hesitate.

Attorney Collens didn't pay the pistol. After it was signed, he put away the document and said with a smile, "Well, the agreement will be effective from this moment on. Miss Martin will have nothing to do with your family anymore, and Mr. Bishop will be fully in charge of her well-being."

Yen and Lilly trembled but agreed. Hank turned to Sara and said in a gleeful tone, "Girl, let's go home."

There was still a sense of wickedness in his voice, and it filled the Martin family with fear. However, Sara smiled sweetly at him and responded, "Okay."

Hank then said, "I'm not feeling well. Come and give a hand to me."

Sara patiently held the Master Bishop who had just pulled out a gun as a threat previously, and the two walked out side by side.

Although it was Sara who was supporting Hank as he walked, Sara's five-foot-three frame was too short for him. His hand raised slightly and he held her slender waist, half carrying his young bride out and left the Martin family's door.

Bella put away the pistol. After thinking for a while, he told the Martin family, "Now, Miss Martin belongs to Master Bishop. You all better think twice if you will be able to handle Master Bishop's revengeful spirit before you want to do anything to her."

Bella left the villa, Yen finally began to breathe freely. Lilly and William hugged each other and cried bitterly.

Yen also wanted to cry with them, but as the head of the family, he had to swallow his tears. "...Didn't everyone say that he is dying of illness?" He muttered.

William couldn't stop sobbing, "Mom, he is so scary..."

After giving a few words of comfort to her daughter, Lilly said with a lingering fear, "We were lucky enough that he didn't shoot.... Sara, that b*tch! Did she want us to die in the hands of that devil?!"

Thinking of Sara, Yen was furious. He said with a livid face, "That b*stard girl! I knew it... I knew that I should have strangled her to death the moment she was born!"

Lilly answered, "You were on good terms with that b*tch from the family at that time. You wouldn't have killed the girl!"

Yen seemed to have thought of something and his expression worsened. "Don't you ever mention Caroline again!" He warned.

Lilly knew that the sl*t, Caroline, was Yen's soft spot. She didn't want to get into a fight with Yen, so Lilly changed the topic and said worriedly, "What should we do now? Now that Sara has Hank's support behind her, who knows if she might do something bad to our family in the future! Especially to William! She is going to the same school as William!"

Yen said, "How long can Hank live? Sara can't be arrogant for long!"

Speaking of William's problem, he looked at his beloved daughter with hesitation. "William, why don't we just not enroll at Scrollania College?"

"No!" William screamed. "All the students in my school already know that I'm going to Scrollania. If I don't enroll, how can I go back and face them?!"

Yen tried to speak calmly, "We can transfer to another school... Dad can help you arrange it tomorrow, okay?"

"No!" This time, it was Lilly who rejected the idea. She gritted her teeth and said, "Why should William be aggrieved because of Sara? This is a hard-earned opportunity, we can never give it up!"

"Then, what do you want us to do?" Frustration bubbled in Yen, and he asked angrily, "You won't let William transfer, and yet you're anxious that she would get bullied in Scrollania..."

William spoke up, "Dad, Mom, don't worry." She wiped the tears off her face and said,"Sara is no match for me. I'll make sure that she can't stay at Scrollania!"

Lilly and Yen stared at each other, but they didn't say anything.

Indeed. Judging by Sara's character, she could never win over William.

Sara turned to look at the villa one last time, the place where she had lived for eight years. There was not an ounce of reluctance when she left the place. Instead, she breathed a sigh of relief.

At last, her connection with that family was broken.

On the car ride home, Sara thought for some time and asked the question that was on her mind, "Master Bishop... if my father... if Yen didn't sign, would you... have shot him?"

Hank found her question quite interesting. He placed his hand behind her seat and asked slowly, "What do you think?"

Sara was a loving and innocent girl, so she frowned and replied, "You were just trying to scare them, weren't you?"

Bella, who was driving the car, let out a laugh.

Hank replied, "I would have really shot him."

Sara's fair and turned pale. rosy face immediately

She opened her eyes wide and gaped, staring at Hank in astonishment.

Hank's gaze was somewhat heavy. He grabbed her delicate chin and rubbed her lips with his thumb. Under his touch, he could feel that the little girl's body began to quiver.

Hank said in a low and hoarse voice, "Don't be afraid, I'm just teasing you. We live in a civilized society, how could I simply kill someone?"

Bella had the urge to ask him whether he felt any remorse for lying so blatantly.

Sara sighed in relief at his assurance. For a moment, she had forgotten about the finger on her lips and said, "You scared me..."
