Two Paths, Two Goals

His knuckles became chafed. He left them alone, not putting bandages on. The pain wasn't worth the headache.

The sun had already set. He sat outside. The warriors were packing up. Tomorrow, before the sun came up, they would move to the Seraphim area.

Dev suggested, "Change. Four legs that run faster than two."

"Your fur is striking."

"Isn't your hair?"

Gideon leaned back. His hands were on his thighs. He was just a few steps away from achieving that status. He couldn't keep getting frustrated.

His gaze was fixed on the horizon.

The paths to Seraphim were many. He would probably meet Seraphim's army if he took another route. Attacking Emberfall's group would be easier.

However, it seemed unfair to attack fifty people with a large army.

"What if she's there?"

"What you mean?"

"Isn't it... not so."

Gideon frowned. "Continue your words."

"No."

"Weird."
