chapter 1 mysterious sound

It was very stormy and windy that certain evening .there were lightnings and the sky was threatening to rain cat and dog .

The candles in my chamber unsteady like it was about to go off and the loud thunderous thunder startled me Everytime it strikes .

"It is going to rain really heavy" I said

The wind got too much and I ran to close the window .

then I laid on my bed and beside me was my favorite book , I took it and opened it , and then i started reading it . I was almost done with it .

The book was about a princess who fell in love with a commoner ,so so in love and then she also made the commoner fall in love with her ,then she decided that she was going to get married to him at all cost but she was scared , because she knew her parents would not allow that to ever happen. it was never known that a royalty got married to a commoner. she kept on rejecting all the suitors that came for her and then one day ,her father got angry with her and asked her why she kept on rejecting the suitors that came her way ,she made up her mind and told her parents that she was in love with a commoner and that she will never marry anyone else except him, Her father got even more furious and was asked for her to be locked in her room and never to leave until she got married to the suitor he gets for her she got locked in her room and she kept on crying ,she refuse to eat or drink anything and it was making her health detouriating her father got scared and was asked for the commoner to be brought to the palace immediately. He was then brought to the palace and the king asked him if he really loved his daughter, he confessed and told the king he really loved his daughter and would do anything for her. Then the king arranged a marriage for the both of them. the princess was so happy .they got married and they lived happily forever.

"Aww I never wanted for you to end " I said

I closed the book and then sighed

"Oh how I wish to have a lovely husband like the one in the book " i said

"We're going to do so many things together,we will eat together,play with each and even share our feelings for each other " I giggled at my silly words while caressing my bed

I also wished I could marry the man I love But I knew that will never happen, I was just like the princess in the book .

This days my father has been telling me about getting married and all that , some suitors also came but I didn't want any , I also wanted to have the man of my heart . I didn't wanted to get married to a king and then get stuck in the palace forever , I wanted to be free and see how the world looks like .

Yes I'm a princess and i was already stuck in my father's kingdom .they never allow me get past the walls of the palace unless on special occasions and I couldn't even think of how suffocating it would be in my husband's kingdom . the thought sent shivers down my spine.

I looked at the closed book and said. "Should I do what my heart follows just like you did princess ?" I sighed deeply

I rose from my bed to go drop the book in my shelf when I heard a really Loud noise that startled me ,I dropped the book on the floor due to shock, then I touched my chest

"What loud noise is that ?" I asked myself I picked the book on the floor and ignored it

"It might be nothing" I thought

I kept the book back in my shelf then I went to my dressing table , I sat down

It was time to go to bed so I had to take off all of the jewelries on me

I could have had my maid do it for me but I felt it wasn't right since I have hands to do them myself

"Even if none of the royals familys were born without hands ,I am sure they wouldn't mind cause their servants help them do everything" I said while taking off the golden pins holding my hair in place and my blonde hair fell down smoothly down to my waist .

"I mean they might help with the cooking , preparing the bath, making the palace clean , always making the garden look beautiful but not helping with taking off your clothes or putting them back on or even taking off your adorments . it doesn't make sense ,why should we make them take off our clothes like we are unable to do it ourselves, they also have their clothes to take off right? "

Wait!! What am I saying , I chuckled by my last words

"What will you not say princess Lilith"

I was done taking all of the adorments on me and I think i was ready to go to bed , I looked at myself closely In the mirror

there was something still not right ,I then looked at myself and sighed realizing I still had a very big tiring gown on and a very hard one to take off .

I stood up and and took my hands across my back trying to loosen the straps

It took me some time but eventually I got it and then I let the huge gown slide off my body,i was left in my chemise , I also took that off and then I was completely naked

I went to my closet and hurriedly put on my night gown ,then I took the gown and chemise and kept it in a space in my closet

I looked at myself satisfied, now I was ready to go to bed

I went straight to the bed and I tucked myself under the bedsheets , I closed my eyes and then just a few minutes

I shot them open with a gasp, that is because I heard the sound again and this time it was so close , I quickly sat on my bed

"What loud noise is that ,why am I having a feeling that there is more to it than I think it is ?" I said ,then the sound came again twice

I suddenly shivered as goosebumps crawled up on my skin ,I was suddenly so cold .

"I think I need a hot bath" I said to myself

"Ceecee" I started calling on ceecee my personal maid. "Ceecee" I called again but no one was coming , I even called the guard who always stands at my door but nobody came

"Why is no one answering? ceecee always comes quickly when I call for her so what could be wrong now?"

" even the guard who always stands close to my door didn't come also" I said

I decided to go find out what was going on outside, I stood up from my bed and went to the door

I was just about to open it when someone else did before me ,i thought it was ceecee but I was surprised to see my sister on the door breathing heavily with a scared look on her face.
