escape 1 chapter 2

My sister was on the door breathing heavily with a scared look on her face , I frowned

"Tani what's wrong,why are you like thi.....". she covered my mouth with her hand before I could finish the word .

then she entered my room quickly shutting the door and closing it , before I could say another word I suddenly heard someone yelling

"check everywhere make sure not to leave anyone alive"

my sister quickly blowed into all the candles extinguishing them and it suddenly became very dark

' someone tell me what's happening' I screamed in my head

then I suddenly heard the door knob being twisted again and again

" I think this door is locked " I heard someone say

" I don't see any light emmiting from the room I think no lives in this chamber " I heard another say

"what about we break it open" I started feeling sweaty ,what was going on ??

"let's not waste our time on this ,we should check another chamber" one said

"alright then" then they were leaving ,I did not hear their footsteps anymore

I heard my sister breath out a sign of relief in the dark , I quickly began looking for the matchbox in the dark , I knew it was on my dressing table because I had kept it there.

so I started waving my hands in the hair trying to locate it, then I touched something like a headboard, I felt around it then I touched something like glass , I immediately knew this was my dressing mirror. I took my hands down a little to the table and searched with my hands until eventually I found it .

I took it and immediately lit a match to look at my surroundings

"if you were going to extinguish the flame you should have at least held the match book "

I said while litting a single candle now the room became a little bright , I looked around for my sister . I saw her still standing at the door

" now Tani can you tell me what's going on now " I said while walking to her

"shhhh sister bring down your voice they might hear you"

"who ? who will hear us ? " I said

"sister we are under attack!!" she said with trembling lips , I frowned even more deeply

"what!!?" I said

"yes Lilith we are under attack " she repeats again

' so that is the sound I've been hearing ' I thought

"wait by who exactly ?" I asked

she hesitated looking up at me like she was scared to mention the name

"answer me !!" I said while I held her shoulder shaking her

"ki - king Lenore of noraxx kingdom"

immediately she mentioned that name ,my world screeched to a halt ,I flew my eyes wide open

" did you just say king Lenore? " I asked , she nodded her head

I suddenly became weak , I needed to find a place to sit before I slumped to the ground

I quickly rushed to the chair in front of my dressing table and sat down ,my energy was completely drained

how ? how could he do this to us ? , this was someone that was so close to my father , they were good friends .

though their age difference was rather far from each other , my father looked like someone who would be old enough to give birth to him .

he even sometimes resides in our kingdom when he was coming from a long journey or were fighting in a battle close to our kingdom

he had even told my father he was interested in me though I couldn't deny he was quite good looking , I even forget to breath sometime when he gets close to me , but I told him I wasn't interested

wait!!! was that why he was doing this ? no it couldn't be , he couldn't cause a stupid war because of that reason then what was it ???.

"why would he attack us ? why I mean he was father's best friend , father always talked good about him ,so why would he do this ,why????" I said to myself more than to Tani

" I really don't know Lilith I am shocked too " she said

then suddenly I remembered something that struck me really hard .

he was here few weeks ago to ask my father if he could give him a troop of 300 soldiers to fight with him in a really big war and my father did agreed

" oh no no no no no " I said panicking , Tani rushed to me

" what's wrong Lilith?" she asked

"Tani don't you remember father giving half of his soldiers to king Lenore ?"

" yes why??" She said

" you still don't get it ,we have been betrayed Tani ,he betrayed father ,he was not going on any war rather he was planning on attacking us that is why he took most of our army away so he would have the upper hand do you get it now ??"

" oh my !!" Tani said as she placed her hand on her chest

" I didn't even think about that " she said

"there must also be a purpose on why he did this" I said , then we heard heavy footsteps coming and then they passed also

we were both really scared now

" sister we need to leave the palace right now mother had told me to tell you that " she said

"mother?? where is she ?" I said getting up from the chair

" we last saw each other at her chamber , she told me to tell you that we should leave the palace as soon as possible"

" us? she isn't coming along with us ? " I asked

" no I tried persuading her but she was so adamant about staying with father , she wouldn't listen" then she held both my hands in hers

" sister please let's leave it won't be long before they find out we are here please!" she pleaded with a teary eyes

' why!!! why was this happening now why!!!! ' I screamed out loud in my head

"hold on " I said

I went to my bed and squatted down then I dug my hand under and brought out a sword

Tani gasped on seeing that

" sister where did you get that from I thought father warned you about wielding a sword ,how did you get it ?" she exclaimed

"i stole it from our chief guard Samuel" I said getting up

" and I think now it's the best time to use it "

"al - alright but do you know how to use it ?" she asked

" yes Samuel taught me some moves in secret" I said

I went inside my dressing room and brought out two cloaks

"take it " I said giving one to her

"if we're going to escape we need to cover ourselves so they wouldn't notice us "

then we both put it on ,I looked at Tani , she was looking so frightened ,her lips trembling,her eyes so wet that any moment tears would come out of them

I couldn't blame her ,all our life we have been protected by guards , now it was time for us to fight for ourselves .

I was also scared but what could I possibly do ? . it was either I fight for us or we both get captured or killed maybe ?.

I placed my palm on her face

"everything will be just fine alright? " I said

she nodded then the tears that was threatening to fall finally slide down her cheeks

"oh sister don't cry " I said looking like I was about to cry myself

then I hugged her

"I'm just scared Lilith , what if something happens to us" she said

" no, nothing is going to happen to us I promise to make sure of that alright? do not be scared of anything " I said patting her back

"alright I won't be scared anymore" she said wiping the tears of her face

I pulled away from the hug

"now that's my good lil sister " I said

then I took both her hands in mine

" ready??" I asked

she nodded this time more determined and fierce,I smiled at her , that was more like my sister

then I pulled the hood of the cloak over her head covering her face ,only her lips could be seen.
