escape 4 chapter 5

Eventually I got there and what I saw made me gasp in shock and horror. there were dead bodies everywhere, our maids and our soldiers left were being slaughtered and killed

I saw Madame Celine who was our head kitchen assistant begging to be spared that she had a little one to take care of but the soldier holding her didn't even bat an eyelid and just slit her throat, blood ran down to her clothes as the soldier let go of her letting her fall down to the ground.

I covered my mouth with my shakily hand,why did they have to kill the innocent for what they did not know why?.....

what even happened to our armys left? why were they not armed? how did they even enter the city without my father knowing ?. I screamed inward

then again I saw Stephanie,a little girl working in the palace. she must be about 12 years old. she was running and one of the soldiers was chasing after her.

"yes Stephanie run faster, please be fast"

I pleaded and motivated silently even though she couldn't hear me. she ran but even while she ran so fast,she wasn't fast enough and then the soldier impaled her from the back.

I almost screamed and blew my cover but I couldn't even if I wanted to, cause I suddenly lost my voice.

a tear fell down my eyes and just seeing the pain and suffering on her face made more tears fall, the soldier withdrew the sword from her and then she fell on her knees. I could see crystal tears drop down her blushed paled face before she went to the ground.i so wished I could go to her and embrace her one last time before she died,she was just a little girl!!!

"fair well Stephanie,I am sure you will go to heaven now" I said whispering

just when I thought I had seen it all ,I heard loud screams and when I turned towards the person screaming,my stomach churned greatly. a guard was set on fire!!!

he screamed in agony and pain as the flame burned Deep into him grilling him like a grilled chicken.

no my eyes could not stand it anymore,I had to go back now ,I could not watch the suffering and pain they were going through anymore

"Tani was right,I shouldn't have come here, I need to go back" I said

I was about going back when I heard a familiar voice.I turned back again, ceecee!!!

"now tell me where are the princesses"

"I told you already .they were both in their chambers this evening so I don't know where they could have gone to, please do not kill me" she cried

oh no!! they were looking for us

" for the last time , tell me where they are or else I'm gonna behead you and give your head to the carcass to feast on"

" believe me I do not know where they are"she said whimpering

" well alright then,I think it's time for you to join the rest in heaven now" he said

I gasped in fear hearing that. ceecee was not just my handmaiden, she was the friend I never had.she would console me when I was sad and tell me jokes to make me laugh and also calm me down when I was angry,she would even tell me things about the world I never knew before and sometimes when I was bored she would teach me how to braid and also teach me how to knit,she also had one little special place in my heart

" no please don't harm her" I begged silently

As much as I wanted to just go back,I couldn't and something Deep inside me was urging me to come out and save her.

though my heart didn't wanted me to listen knowing it will be the end of me but that feeling of going forward was pushing me so deeply and just when the soldier placed the sword on her neck and the petrified look on her face. I lost it.i wish I had listened to my heart ,i looked down below my feet,there was a sword near me .

I took it quickly, when the soldier raised his sword back up again preparing to separate her head from her body.

"stop!!!!...." I screamed out loud

everyone went to a halt.ceecee who had closed her eyes waiting for what was about to befall her opened them back to look at me with great shock on her face that made it go pale. it seems from her look, she didn't wanted me to have showed myself

"my lady!!....." she exclaimed

"let her go!!" I said pointing my sword at the soldier

"speaks about the devil and he arrives,look what we have here everybody , it's the princess" he grinned menacingly

" let her go and I'll spare you" I threatened

"uhh I'm so scared"

he teased sarcastically acting as if he was shivering, then without warning he gripped ceecee's hair making her scream in pain,I also couldn't help but flinch as if it was my hair that was been pulled

"hey servant,looks like the princess tried to run but just because of you,she showed herself, how kind your princess must be" he chuckled

" here I was busy doubting you when you were actually telling the truth,how bad of me hmm you know what??, for your truthfulness I am going to let you go"

then he freed her

" run!!!!....." he said

I was so glad that they left her,then she got up on her knees running to me when she suddenly stopped I frowned what was wrong?? , and before I knew it blood dripped down from the side of her mouth and then she fell on the floor that was when I noticed she had a machete thrown at her and it got her on her back.

"no!!...."

I screamed as I ran to her, then the soldiers were all laughing

"ceecee!! ceecee!!" I said putting my arms on her neck and placing her head on my lap

"my pr- princess,you shouldn't have come here,I knew you escaped and I - I was so glad but why did you show up again.i am just a common servant you shouldn't have done that for me" she said weakly and gasping finding it difficult to speak

"ceecee...."

I called carefully with tears as I was unable to say anything, then she smiled weakly that tugged my heart with so much pain

"it was a pleasure serving you my princess. please do not waste ti - time, run my princess r-run" she whispered softly before she gave up the ghost with her eyes open

"ceecee.." I called her name again while still crying " rest now ceecee,I pray you go to heaven" I said while I closed her eyes.

then with pain and anger in my heart ,I looked at the soldier who had killed her fierce fully with hatred and vengeance. not minding what she had told me,I took her head off my lap, took back the sword and got up. the soldier noticing what I was about to do took out his own sword too .

"looks like this princess wants to play" he said still grinning disgustedly

I didn't even know where I got the sudden courage from and I charged at him,then we began fighting

while we clanked our swords together, he was busy laughing like it was a joke. I could even see that he was going easy on me almost like he was un-serious about the fight and just to show him how serious I was,I made sure to target His face and then i slashed him running from his jaw to his upper nose .

he grunted in pain as he dropped his sword and held his face,I stood there breathing waiting for what was to come next and when he looked back at me ,I could see rage in his eyes,they were completely red now out of anger.all the courage I had suddenly went down the drain,i was so scared now.

"seems like this princess is actually serious" he said furiously

" soldiers seize her!!!!" he ordered pointing towards me.

oh no!! I tried to run now but it was too late, the two soldiers got me and held me down

"no let me go !!"I said trying to fight to free myself but they held me down so tightly and then forcefully brought me to the soldier that I had slashed his face. they brought me to my knees and then he pulled my hair so hard just like he did to ceecee's

I whimpered in pain.he leaned in "look at what you did to my face you wench!!" he said while pointing towards his face

" you deserve more and more of it" I said bravely to him then without warning a tight slap landed on my left cheeks making my head spin then he grabbed my hair again. "oh I am going to enjoy killing you so this mouth of yours will be shut forever" he said while tracing my lips with his finger.i felt disgusted by it and then bit his finger really hard,he screamed in pain while his finger was still in between my teeth,I made sure not to let go of it, but when he forcefully took it out,I could taste blood in my mouth

then again he slapped me really hard on that same left cheek,I whimpered in pain but while still recovering from it another was Landed this time on my right cheek.it felt like I was going to go unconscious,I felt blood flowing from inside my mouth then he pulled my hair again. this jerk!! what was his problem with hair

"I've had enough of you stubborn princess,I think it's time you die now ,hey you hand me your matchete" he said to one of the soldiers behind him,the soldier gave the matchete to him.

then he brought it so close to my face,I traced the matchete with my eyesight In fear

"now before you die, I am going to ruin this beautiful face of yours just like you did to mine" he said tracing the matchete from my forehead to my ear

" say goodbye to your beautiful face princess" he smirked. just when he pressed the matchete tightly on my face I heard a voice, a voice that sent shivers down my spine,that made my world screech to an halt

"sister!!!!....." I heard "no no no no" I panicked even before looking at the person who I already i knew who it was,I turned to her

"well well well if it isn't the other princess,you know?? you both have a way of showing up" he chuckled

" Tani what are you doing ,go away run!!!" I ordered but she stood crying and shaking her head

" Tani please run please go away!!"

"no sister" she said crying

"Tani listen to me , run I'll be fine alright please run!!!" I screamed and this time she listened and then she ran

"what are you doing standing, go on get her!!!" he said ordering and then both soldiers went after Tani

I prayed silently for Tani's safety

"well since I saw your sister, why don't I just wait till they catch her so I do the things I want to do to you in front of her, won't that be perfect?? " then he laughed

I gritted my teeth in anger " now let me promise you one thing, they will never be able to catch her you know why?? because we are the trozans and the trozans never give up" I said courageously even though I was scared of getting another slap, my face was already aching so badly. he didn't slap me rather he just rolled his eyes.

moments later they were back and I couldn't see any trace of Tani with them , I breathed out a sign of relief

"we couldn't find her" one of the soldiers said

"see....I told you"

I said smirking at him

that made him even more furious that he suddenly grabbed my jaw harshly

"that's no problem, I'm just gonna kill you now"

then pointing the matchete at my belly, I gaped in fear and shock. is this how I die?? and just when he plunged it in . someone shouted

"stop!!!"

luckily it was only the tip that pierced into me but it still hurts ,I looked at the person who had made me still alive ,my eyes immediately flew to his uniform .it seemed different from the others like he was in a higher ranking above them, the soldier immediately got up.

"general...." he said , seems I was right

" what happened to your face??" he asked

" this little wench did it" he said while looking at me with rage

" tsk tsk impressive!! well you don't get to look good forever as a soldier"he said chuckling that made the soldier frowned with a little bit of anger that he couldn't also dare to show except he wants to stay alive. then the so claimed general turned towards me,he looked so calmed and un-tensed

"do not harm her , throw her inside the carriage she might be useful for the king"

I frowned, what did he mean by that??

"alright general,I will do as you have said"

then the general looked at me again once with an expression I could not quite fathom. was it pity or what?? , then he was leaving

while still looking at the general, the soldier grabbed my jaw again pulling my attention back to him.

"you are extremely lucky that our general came on time or else you would have been a lifeless corpse by now" he said

then he pulled me off the ground and started dragging me to nowhere I could think off,I couldn't help but ask

"where are you taking me??". he paused. "didn't you hear what the general said,in the carriage of course.he thinks you might be useful for the king tonight"

I creased my eyebrows deeply, what did they mean by useful to the king tonight?? did they perhaps wanted king lenore to kill me by himself or what?? until when I remembered something. wait a minute!! tonight?? ceecee used to tell me what a man and a woman does at night,I could remember how embarrassed I was and the way I blushed so hard while she told me those things.is that really what they meant!!??.

" what!! no!! leave me!!" I started dragging with him realizing what they were saying now

"let me go please!" I tried fighting with him but when he became tired of it ,he raised me up from my knees and threw me on his shoulder,I hit his back countlessly but he didn't even flinch,was that how weak my punch was??

"let me go I'm warning you!!" I threatened,then suddenly he took me down holding my both wrists with one hand and opening the carriage we were now in front of with the other

" enough with your empty threats princess"

he opened the carriage and tried to push me inside but I suddenly kicked him making him groan

"uh damn you princess I'm so sick of you" he said frustrated,he tried pushing me in again but I fought with him to free myself but he was just too strong and then he forcefully pushed me in and because I was not stable ,I fell down on the carriage floor and hit my head with a loud bang and then , everything went blank.
