Underneath the flame-colored clouds, Cyrus and Barnas' daughter could be seen walking side by side in this hellish domain. Buildings were on fire, and the surrounding area was some sort of ruined.
"Are you an S-rank skill user?" asked the elf demon.
Cyrus gave her a two-second stare and nodded his head, implying he wasn't. "E-rank."
"E-rank...!!!" yelled the girl.
Cy was shocked seeing and hearing how loud she shouted when she heard his rank. It was as if she was trembling all of a sudden.
"Why didn't smarty-pants call an S-rank skill user instead...!!" she yelled again?
Cy blamed himself for stopping in the first place. Hence, she turned and continued walking the treacherous path. All of a sudden, she was scared.
"I thought you were one of the summon who defeated my brother."
"Uh? You mean, Baras?"
She wore a sad face looking at the floor and muttering. "Yea, him," she said weakly, it was easy to decipher that she was sad.
But doesn't that mean this whole thing could be a trap, knowing the one who killed your brother, wouldn't she try some trick or something?
"Don't worry, I know we were in the wrong, and you were left with no other options," she muttered, and walked past Cyrus.
However, Boom', she was insanely lucky. Cyrus was quick enough to grab her armor and lift her from the way, a red demon Orc with large fangs leaped out of nowhere and smashed his battle-ax down at her.
Splattering rocks and in a split second, Cy connected his footwear against the chest of the demon, sending it a few meters away.
Just as he had done with the black eater, before the demon Orc could stand up, Cy was by its side with his dagger placed at the orc's throat.
Grrhhaaa....!!
But the demon didn't give a little sign of surrender. "They're not talkers," said Cyrus, disappearing his dagger. He stared back at the elf, giving him a look of awe.
"You saved me," she said, looking all shy.
"Do you guys ever know the meaning of surrender? Like Baras, he didn't surrender even when he knew he was outnumbered."
She was quickly dazed out of her love dream when she realized Cyrus had reached her and placed his hands on her shoulder. "Are you okay?" asked Cyrus, looking all perplexed. "I asked you a question."
She stared at the dead demon whose head was far from its dead bleeding structure. Then back at Cyrus.
"Surrender? Just as you're given a mission, even monsters are given one too, either we kill or be killed and surrendering is like self-destruct."
Either way, they were going to die fighting and have a chance to survive rather than surrender and die by self-destruction.
In a flash, they both reached the final destination they'd been looking for the entire time... A humongous and scary-looking demon Orc Castle.
Two Orcs adorned in barbarian-like clothing could be seen wielding weapons and guarding the entrance.
Cyrus and Barnas' daughter both hid behind a rock. It was dark, the flaming clouds had taken the form of a dark sky.
"We'll attack tomorrow, right now, we rest," said Cyrus.
He gathered nearby wood and two stones, hit them together, creating friction and then a spark before the wood lit in flames.
Since the night was cold, Barnas' daughter was beside the flames, while Cyrus was keeping watch.
"Aren't you going to rest?" she asked.
Cy just smiled and shrugged it off, implying she could go ahead, and he'd keep a lookout for a while before napping.
However, Barna's daughter wasn't acting at all caring for anything, she simply stood up with a dagger, quietly using her toes to gain Cy's distance.
When she raised the dagger and all that was left was to stab Cyrus, her heart skipped a beat when our Protagonist spoke.
"I would only wake up stronger and kill you," said Cyrus with a dead and cold voice. As it seems, a surprise attack couldn't work on him because her shadow gave her up.
Cyrus turned around to face her, his face resembling that which could kill this girl by just looking alone.
"Is all this a trap?" asked Cyrus, this time in a demanding voice.
The girl quickly bowed her head and began apologizing endlessly. "Please, I'm sorry, I'll do anything you ask, but please don't kill me."
Cy looked at her, he understood she was trying to kill him because of Baras, but thinking of that thing himself made him upset.
"Get some sleep, you'll need your strength tomorrow."
She felt embarrassed and did as she was told. Cy, on the other hand, was all night, staring at the girl.
Barnas' daughter woke up in the morning. She danced her eyes around and couldn't find Cyrus. Causing her to stand up and turn around when she heard her name.
"Yo Princess, recognize these guys?"
Right behind her was Cyrus and a pile of dead demon Orcs. She was impressed, and Cyrus was smiling, not because of her but because...
-[You killed the Demon Orc beasts}
-{You have attained maximum experience of the beast]
-{Accumulated stat from the killed beasts in total= 100]
-{Previous strength, magic, speed, intelligence, and skill: 400]
-{Current: 500}
The two of them now faced the Demon Orc Castle, Cy looking all confident and ready to devour the stats of whatever strong beast they've got to offer.
"I can feel it, it's inside," she muttered with a soothing voice.
Cyrus smiled, looking at the castle. With a smirk, he replied, "Well then, let's advance our steps."

-{Alert: Hostility Has been Detected}

Cyrus smirked, grinned while staring at the girl beside him as if his eye was planning on reaching his ears. Inwardly, he thought.
'So she's planning to kill me, wrong move,' thought Cyrus with a calm facade.
