Tana had injured her leg; the rest of her wounds were minor. Upon hearing Lin Ziyin's words, she silently climbed onto the pine branches.
Lin Ziyin started to drag her exhaustingly upwards again.
"Why did you save me?" Tana, after a long silence, couldn't help but voice her question.
"Do you think I wanted to save you?" Lin Ziyin responded bluntly, "I'm just the kind of person who cherishes her life. I didn't really want to save you considering how you treated me along the way. Don't bring up how you saved me—that's your responsibility."
Hearing her panting while she rambled on, Tana, who hadn't received a direct answer, repeated, "Why did you save me?"
