"Why?"
The simultaneous question burst out of both Chi Jingming and Wang Lin's mouths, their eyes glaring at Chi Zhenghong, faces full of incomprehension.
Chi Zhenghong let out a heavy sigh, intentionally softened his voice, and said to Chi Jingming, "If I were only speaking as a father, I wouldn't stop you. I'd bring you to the entrance of the civil affairs bureau right now to settle this matter. But you can't act impulsively."
Chi Zhenghong made his position clear, and Chi Jingming's expression slightly eased.
Chi Zhenghong continued, "But think about it: you just got married two days ago, and today you're divorcing. How do you think the upper management at Dijing will view you? And how will all those outsiders perceive you?"
"No one knows what truly happened, so all those people will only think that Chi Jingming is unreliable, someone who gets married on a whim and divorces just as recklessly. How can they still trust you after this?"
