[ 6 ] Hotpot

The next day, Louise tried his best to ignore Lucas's suspicious eyes, seeing his haggered face.

He wore formal clothes, before walking to the school.

Although exams were over, some senior teachers still came to school to prepare for the graduation ceremony for the other students.

And the principal, of course, was there in school too.

Louise went straight towards the principal's office. In his way, he found multiple teachers, but he just calmly walked away, so the teachers ignored him.

'Knock' 'knock'

Hearing that sound, the principal said, "Come in." Louise calmly went inside, like he was going to meet his neighbor Aunt.

10 minutes later, Louise could be found opening the principal's office door with a satisfying grin.

He went towards his home slowly. Not forgetting to buy groceries, he seems to be in the mood of making a good feast.

Bell's voice sounded as Louise entered the bakery's door. Lucas looked up from his phone; seeing his brother, he smiled and took the groceries from Louise's hand.

Checking the groceries Lucas was a little excited. His brother paid great attention to health and money. Louise always used to pick lots of green vegetables in the name of protein.

It's not that his brother does not buy meat; it's just that it was in pitiful portions compared to vegetables. He had to eat a lot of side dishes in order to swallow vegetables.

Good thing his brother didn't ban side dishes because they were considered healthy too.

The groceries Louise brought had a good amount of meat, pork, and other things in them. There was even a hot pot base there.

"Brother, is today something joyous? You brought quite a thing." Lucas said, looking inside the bag again, checking whether the things he just saw were illusions or not.

After looking again, Lucas confirmed that it wasn't an illusion. He turned to look at Louise with courage, while Louise just grabbed his bag and patted his head.

Lucas didn't like his brother patting his head but didn't refute it. He didn't want to upset his brother for any reason, plus he was genuinely curious about today's special event.

But to his disappointment, he heard Louise say, "You will naturally know when the food is ready." Lucas pouted in dissatisfaction, but Louise paid no mind to him and looked around the shop and said, "Hum. Today things got sold way faster than before."

"They all heard that our bakery was closing soon; a lot of regular customers came to ask whether it was true or not and brought more than before." Hearing that, Louise nodded.

It was no lie that their bakery was quite famous in the area. They also have quite loyal customers; it's a pity that they will have to close the shop.

It is entirely due to the fact that Louise thinks that Lucas might not be able to manage the bakery while living alone. He has gone to the higher classes, and he knows the workload is not a joke. Plus, although Lucas tries to act brave, he has an extremely innocent and childish mind.

And the thing is, with too many instincts, Lucas is unable to make Buisnessman-type decisions. He is not suitable for doing business.

If Louise wasn't sure before, he is quite sure that they will have to stop their bakery for quite some time. But it doesn't matter because Louise was already quite prepared when it came to saving money. He tries to squeeze everything so that they have served enough of their worth.

Louise closed the shop and went to the kitchen. They cook in a bakery's kitchen. It's just that half of the kitchen is filled with pastry-making essentials, while the other half has more practical cooking essentials and dishes.

Cooking hotpot was not a hard job, but preparing the ingredients was, so Lucas volunteered to help. It's no joke that both his and his brother's cooking is way too good.

While Lucas was busy preparing ingredients, Louise started to make other things. In just 40 minutes, an extremely aromatic and beautiful-looking dish was prepared and placed on the table. Louise couldn't help but smile in satisfaction, while Lucas was openly drooling over them.

Just as he was about to eat, he heard Louise say, "Let's remember our good memories in this city. It's finally time to leave this place. Together."

Hearing this, the piece of meat Lucas was picking, fell from the chopsticks.
