A Grave Mistake

"I sent you a message, didn't I?" Amelia pushed past Nick, who was blocking her way into the room. She didn't like being treated like this. "You didn't even reply to my message, so why are you suddenly acting overprotective? It's not cool."

"Listen! No matter what you do out there, which probably involves typical teenage stuff and whoever you hang out with, I'm not gonna control it. But remember my position in your family. They left you in my care. So don't be reckless."

"I was just studying with my friend! With Aiden. Ask my mom if you don't believe me. She sees Aiden more often than you do!" Amelia raised her voice. She looked at Nick with exhaustion. "Fine. You don't wanna help me study, right? I can't concentrate studying alone. So don't complain when I study elsewhere."

Nick was just worried Amelia might get involved in something embarrassing. Her family could blame him since she was under his watch now.
