As Zetsu strode into the center of the arena, the air was thick with anticipation. The spectators fell silent, their eyes locked on the clash between the demon and the angel. Ashira stood opposite him, her expression a mix of amusement and disdain.
"Hmm, why do you think you can win?" Ashira taunted, a smirk dancing on her lips.
Without hesitation, Zetsu lunged forward, aiming a punch straight at her face. But Ashira was quick. "Holy Push!" she exclaimed, unleashing a wave of radiant energy. Zetsu was sent crashing into the wall, the impact echoing throughout the arena.
"I—I knew you were an angel!" he gasped, struggling to his feet, blood trickling down his arm.
"A cute one at that," Ashira giggled, tilting her head. "Now tell me, is it true that demon blood is green?"
Before Zetsu could muster a retort, sharp pain erupted across his body as deep slashes carved into his skin, blood gushing forth. "AHHHHHHHHHHH!" he screamed, the world around him fading as he rushed toward her in a desperate bid for vengeance.
"How cute! HOLY PUSH!" Ashira laughed, sending Zetsu slamming against the hard concrete once more. The crowd gasped, but he pushed through the pain, determination igniting in his eyes.
"It's adorable how you keep trying to touch me, but I am untouchable," she continued, her laughter a sharp contrast to the chaos. "Did you know my dad is the great holy angel Azzel? It fascinates me that you didn't know."
Zetsu clenched his fists, activating the third stage of his Demon Eye. "You need to shut the hell up and fight!" he growled, summoning a massive fireball and launching it at her.
"How nice of you!" Ashira replied, absorbing the fireball effortlessly, her Angel Eye glowing with power. Zetsu's eyes widened in disbelief as she grinned.
"Now you see why I'm the descendant of Azzel. This is only stage one of the Angel Eye. My father has unlocked all stages of it! I can see every single one of your weak points," she taunted, her confidence radiating.
Fueled by rage, Zetsu conjured a mud wall, trying to shield himself. "Wow, hiding behind a wall is so pathetic," Ashira mocked, rolling her eyes. Zetsu charged again, but Ashira's response was swift. "Ugh, this again? HOLY PUSH!"
Zetsu felt the force slam into him, his body turning into dust upon impact. But he was prepared this time. As he reformed, he darted forward with renewed vigor. "You think you can keep me down?" he shouted, eyes blazing.
"Holy—" Ashira began, panic creeping into her tone as she realized she could only use her Holy Push every minute. Zetsu seized the moment, launching another fireball. She dodged it, but Zetsu was already behind her, grabbing her wrist.
"Hey! L-let me go!" Ashira protested, her surprise evident.
"Forty-five more seconds before you can use it again," Zetsu thought, his grip tightening. In a flash, his clone appeared, pummeling Ashira with a barrage of punches, each hit resonating with the force of his desperation.
"Enough! HOLY PUSH!" Ashira shouted, finally breaking free but not before feeling the impact of the blows. Zetsu staggered back, narrowly regaining his balance.
"I see you're finally taking this seriously. About time, because I was getting bored!" she taunted, pointing her sword at him. A tiny white beam shot from the tip, striking Zetsu's forearm, causing him to wince.
"Now I have to wrap things up, you dirty demon," she declared, raising her hand as a spinning white ball of energy formed above her. "I will show you the true power of an angel!"
The ball spun faster, releasing a flurry of white light beams that rained down toward Zetsu. "Fuck it... I'm not gonna lose to you!" he roared, activating the fourth stage of his Demon Eye.
Gordon's thoughts raced: This kid is different…
"Hell Fire Flames!" Zetsu unleashed a torrent of black and purple flames, catching Ashira off guard. The flames lashed out, igniting her shoulder.
"Ahh! Get it off!" she cried, struggling against the searing heat. "AHHHH!" Panic flashed in her eyes as she attempted to consume the flames with her Angel Eye, but it was futile.
Suddenly, Akuma's voice echoed through the arena, calm yet authoritative. "TIME DILATION!" The flames froze mid-air, a stark contrast to the chaos surrounding them. "Hey kid, that's not nice to do! You could have really hurt her."
Zetsu, visibly fatigued, fell to one knee, panting heavily. The weight of exhaustion pressed on him, but he refused to yield.
"T-thank you, King Akuma," Ashira stammered, her thoughts swirling with conflict. How dare he try to save me after he killed my father!
"No need," Akuma replied, his gaze stern. "I am the king of my duties… but you," he pointed at Zetsu, "are disqualified."
Zetsu shrugged, a mix of weariness and resignation washing over him as he turned to walk back to his team, the thrill of battle fading.
"OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!" Kira squealed, her eyes wide as she beheld Akuma. "Is that really King Akuma?"
"Calm down, Kira. We need to get Zetsu to the hospital," Gordon said, his tone steady despite the adrenaline still coursing through him.
As they stepped outside, Kai turned to Gordon, his expression serious. "Uh, is there something you want to tell me?"
"Yes," Gordon sighed, taking a seat on a nearby bench, the weight of the conversation heavy. "You know that move you pulled in the fight against Lee?"
"Oh yeah, Sapient Mode! It's cool, right? My grandpa taught it to me!" Kai grinned.
"No, it's not. You're using it the wrong way. You're good at drawing nature ki, but you're dumping out your normal ki and consuming nature ki. That's why you only lasted fifty seconds against Lee," Gordon explained, his voice serious.
Kai's smile faded, concern etching his features. "Oh man, so how do I use it then?"
"I really don't know," Gordon admitted. "But I can give you an educated guess. Just try to balance your ki and your nature ki together. And remember, you had a lackluster performance. If you continue down this path, you could get the whole team killed. From now on, I will be training you in ki control. Is that understood?"
Kai nodded, determination shining in his eyes. "Yes, sir!"
