CHAPTER 2
Aby's POV
"You look like hell Aby."
"Do I?" these past few days, I haven't been able to sleep well because of the nightmares I've been having.
"Nightmares?"
"Yes," I replied. She nudged the seat next to me.
"So?"
"What?"
"You said in your dream you have wings," Lyn said curiously.
"Yes, my wings are big and white. I'm wearing a white dress with a gold lining. I'm even wearing a crown made of leaves."
"Let me see your back." She turned me around and felt my back.
I faced her. "Why? It's just a dream."
"No, maybe that dream of yours is a sign that you're gifted with powers like the hero of this country."
"I won't buy that nonsense." I know that there's an upcoming war between humans and angels versus demons. That's the reason why they're staying here.
A long time ago, this country was full of demons, and then four of them were gifted by heaven to end the holy war. One of them sacrificed herself to end the longest war in history. This is what I've read in the documents. But the thing is, there were four, and now there are only three.
"Hey, snap out of it. Still, maybe that dream of yours is true. Anyway, now that I'm looking at it up close, is your eye color sky blue?"
"What? My eye color is brown, not sky blue."
"But... wait." She grabbed her bag and handed me a mirror. "Look in the mirror, I'm not lying or anything because your eye color is really sky blue."
I looked in the mirror and saw my eyes. What is happening? I blinked several times, but it wasn't a trick of the eye!
"Team! Let's go to the set, and Abigail, you will interview the big shot Azaniel." I paused and looked.
"Can I please not?"
"Why? You're the most skilled journalist here."
"It's because I'm not feeling well."
"She's telling the truth, Captain," Lyn chimed in.
"Thanks, Lyn," I whispered. She just smiled.
"Then?"
"Can I just watch and write?" I suggested. It nodded, and everyone left.
"Let's go," Lyn said, so I got up too.
When we arrived on set, my fellow journalists immediately dispersed. All the actors were here, so we were too.
I leaned against the wall to steady myself. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, then opened them again. I was surprised to see him in front of me, leaning against the wall with crossed arms and closed eyes.
I slowly walked away. I didn't want to be involved, why do I keep seeing you, Azaniel!
"Where are you going?" I stopped walking.
"Going back to my business?"
"You're not feeling well, right? You shouldn't force yourself."
"I'm fine. I can handle this. This is just a cold, and I didn't know that you are an actor." A hero of society and an actor too.
"Because you didn't ask." How shameless.
I sighed. "Goodbye, Mr. Azaniel. I hope to not meet you again." I turned and continued walking.
"But I'm hoping for our next meeting," he smiled. My heart beat faster. He left me dumbfounded.
"What the hell was that?" I touched my head. It was hurting again. Should I see a doctor?
My headache was so severe that I fainted.
. . .
I woke up in an unfamiliar place. I was surprised to see someone with wings in front of me. I hid behind the wall and looked around.
"Serena!" shouted with a familiar voice. Familiar?
"I've already made my choice," why does she sound like me? I peeked at them.
Two beautiful women, glowing golden, one with a leaf symbol on her forehead and a crown of leaves on the side of her head. She has three pairs of wings. And the other one is wearing a white dress, with a pair of white wings.
"You're the supreme deity! You will leave your position because of that man? He's just an archangel! You can't change the fact that you two are not meant for each other!"
"Layra. I know. That is why I'm leaving my position to you. You've made a great leader. I have to go," she replied. When she faced me, I was surprised to see our eyes meet.
"Why does she look like me?" I muttered.
I woke up again in a chaotic scene. I felt like I was in a novel, shifting from one scene to another. This time, the sky was chaotic and red, with explosions and fire all around.
"Abigail! Stop!" a voice shouted. I immediately turned.
Tears fell from my eyes as I saw Abigail being hugged and crying. Seeing this man cry made my heart ache.
"What the hell is going on?" I held my head. It was hurting again.
"This is my duty as a leader of the archangels," she said as she broke away from Azaniel's embrace and casted a spell, trapping Azaniel in a magic circle, preventing him from leaving.
"Please, no!" Azaniel cried out.
It seemed like Abigail didn't hear him and flew upwards, revealing her identity as the highest supreme deity.
"Holy land of Serene, I, Serena Trinity, offer my soul to end the holy war and bring peace to all three realm and the people living in it. Abruskaorpotepika, holy power release!" we both cried.
A bright light engulfed the land, and I couldn't see her anymore. Is this my past memories? I fell to my knees and cried.
Izzy's POV
Abigail is crying... she's crying in her sleep.
"Is she okay?" Luis asked.
"I think she's starting to remember her past memories, just look at this golden light surrounding her."
I looked at Azaniel. He was just staring down, we were surprised to see Abi being lifted by him, unconscious.
I touched Abi's forehead, and her fever has gone down. She was burning up earlier.
"Serena," I was shocked when Abi suddenly mentioned that upon waking up.
"H-how?" I nervously asked. Where did she know that sacred name?
"I'm Serena Trinity," she replied before disappearing. Before she vanished, I saw tears streaming down her face.
"What does she mean by she's Serena?" I asked, confused. All I know is Abigail is just a strong archangel.
"She's the supreme deity," Azaniel's revelation shocked me even more.
My knees weakened at what I heard.
Saran's POV
"My sister is now awake. This is our opportunity to get her soul kekeke. Her power is not manifesting yet. Men! Let the hunt begin!" they all shouted happily.
"Your soul is mine, old sis Serena."
Abigail's POV
I returned to my apartment, faced the mirror, and saw tears streaming down my eyes.
I don't understand! My eyes, my heart is aching! I remembered who I am. Why am I still alive? Why? My core turned into pieces, why?
I closed my eyes and screamed in pain from the headache. Something wants to escape from me. I teleported to the rooftop of a tall building. I screamed, and a golden light emanated from my body.
I was gasping for breath. I sat down and looked down, I was crying again... I miss him and them..
I felt a strong energy and quickly stood up, wiping away my tears.
"It's me, sister," I was surprised at what I saw.
"S-Saran?" I couldn't believe what I was saw.
"I know that you're still alive. You're the supreme deity, so it's impossible for you to have died just like that."
"What are you doing here!"
"To get your core again. Because I failed that day. Your core will keep Pyra alive."
"Stop this foolishness. Pyra is dead, she has been dead for a hundred years. Can't you just move on!"
"Do you think I can move on? Despite what happened to her! You killed her!"
"I didn't!"
"You did. If you didn't send her and that girl Abigail, they would still be alive by now."
"It's my fault for sending them, but they were my strongest soldiers!"
"Stop! Oh, right, you're disguising as Abigail because the man she loves, you also love. When she died, you impersonated Abigail because you didn't want Azaniel to be hurt!"
"What?" We both turned to the speaker. Azaniel, Izzy, and Luis were standing not far away.
"Izzy," I muttered.
"You heard me right? My sister is the one who killed the one I love and the one you love, Azaniel. She even disguised herself to be Abigail because she loves you! And let me tell you one thing. She's the cause of why the war started," this fool!
"Stop this nonsense, Saran!"
"If you won't give me your core, then I'll start a war just like what happened a hundred years ago. You can't stop me, sister!" she started to blow up the building next to us.
"Over my dead body!" I shouted.
I teleported Saran along with the three of them to a dimension with no one else but us.
"You really love those foolish humans!" he said angrily.
"Stop your shit and let's settle this once and for all!" I shouted.
"You know that you can't fight me in your situation. Your powers are not fully awake, and you don't have your holy sword," he said with a smirk.
"I don't need a holy sword. I can still defeat you without it." Two swords appeared in my hands, and I swiftly attacked him. He blocked my attacks from behind and even in front. I released my wings and swung them to release a massive energy.
"You are now revealing your true form, is that okay? They will recognize you now," he smirked.
"It's too late," I replied and charged at him.
I teleported behind him and brought out the holy light in my hands, aiming it at him. He also released a dark light to counter my attack.
Izzy's POV
No one wanted to speak. We just stared at the two siblings.
They fought fiercely, both strong, unwilling to be defeated. And this is the first time I saw the face of the supreme deity. Abigail's face disappeared, and her real face appeared. She was incredibly beautiful. What I couldn't understand was why she did that? Why did she need to deceive us into thinking Aby was alive?
I clenched my fists, feeling tears welling up in my eyes. Abigail, I'm sorry. We didn't know...
My eyes widened as Saran teleported behind the supreme deity and stabbed her.
"This is your end!" Saran exclaimed, laughing. We quickly approached and tried to break the barrier.
We still continued to break the barrier. It wasn't there earlier.
"Don't interfere. This is a family matter!" Serena shouted to snap us out of it and stay away.
"I know the truth," Azaniel mentioned. "Let's talk about this matter later," he added. I nodded.
I clenched my fists. So, only Luis and I didn't know? What the fuck!
I shivered as the surroundings suddenly felt heavy. Two powerful entities were fighting inside the barrier. White and black lights. They moved swiftly, almost impossible to see.
"This is not the end, sister. I'll be back!" Saran shouted before disappearing.
Angels arrived and bowed to Aby, I mean Serena.
"Your supreme deity!" they shouted and bowed.
"Stop this. Let's go back to the holy realm," she said to us with sadness in her eyes before vanishing.
"We need a proper explanation about this supreme deity!" I shouted. I sat down and cried.
"Azaniel said he's going to explain to us about what really happened," Luis said and hugged me.
"Aby," I whispered her name.
Sorry, Abigail...
