Chapter 8
"Aren't you attending the gods banquet?"
"No."
"Well Azaniel will."
I remain silent..me and him has nothing to do with each other.
The town in the holy realm has a festival. The gods are celebrating so are the holies.
I wear a cloak and teleport on the town, while I was walking I could see the smiles on their faces. I will protect those smiles even if it costs my life..
"Why are you walking alone?" I was surprised.
"Gabriel."
"Long time no see?"
"Yea."
"How are you?"
"I'm fine."
"Do you have something to say to me?"
I remain silent..
"I have something to do. Goodbye." I walk fast and then I can't sense him, I walk slower.
I'm sorry Gabriel. I can't still face you..
"Is that you Serena?" A familiar voice rings in my ears.
I cover my half face not to be discovered..I walk fast but he appears in front of me.
"Why are you running away?" he walks towards me and looked in my eyes.
I lowered my head. I was shocked when he lifted my face.
"What do you think you're doing?"
"I knew it. It's you."
"What are you doing here? You should be at the banquet of gods."
"I'll go later. I want to have fun with you." before I could react he already held my hand and ran away.
I kept looking at his hand, holding my hand...
"Let's go there. We should check some foods." I nodded.
"Is this a fruit candy?"
"Yes holies, are you a couple?" the vendor asked.
"No/Yes." we both said in unison. I glared at him.
"No." I answered but the vendor is doubting me. Oh god.
"Yes." he answered. What is wrong with him!
"Here's a fruit candy for the lovers." After Azaniel paid, we left.
"Where should we go next?" he asked but I remain silent. He holds my hand.
"Stop pulling me your holiness." I remove his hand. "Mind your manners. You are a holy god, and I am just a holies. Thank you for the candies, you should go back to your banquet. Good bye."
I teleported back to the mountain. I hold my chest. That was dangerous! I closed my eyes and breathe.

Azaniel's POV
What was that? She left...I'm walking back to where the banquet is.
"Oh his holiness is here!" the god of stars exclaimed.
They lowered their heads as a sign of respect. The god of holy realm is the highest gods among gods. They're what they call phoenixis.
"Cheers to the holy god Azaniel!" I raised my cup and toast. I don't really have the energy to interact with them.
"What's with the long face Azaniel?" Gabriel asked and pour a glass of wine on his cup.
"Nothing."
"Nothing? Did you saw her?" I shook my head.
"Is your problem woman?" I gave him a serious look.
"God of nymphs shut up." he laughed.
"Stop teasing his holiness." Faith showed up.
I poured a wine on my cup and drink.
How can I explain to her that Abigail was not in relationship with me in the first place.
And how can I give back her lost memories?
The reason why I have her memories is because to prevent her from falling inlove with me. Her mom, the past holy deity, talked to me. That I should not get involved with Serena cause she's the heir to the throne. So in order for her to forget about me and our memories together, I manipulate her memories and removed the memories together with me.
I regret not giving her memories in her past life. I will protect her even if its costs my life. I should protect her this time..
Serena's POV
Where am I? Why is the place dark.
"Hello?"
"Serena." someone called my name.
"Who are you?"
"Three days before the war." the voice is slowly fading away...
I woke up sweating. My whole body is shaking and my heart is beating loud.
"What was that?"
"That's a part of prophecy." I look at her.
"When did you came?"
"Just now."
"What do you mean by part of prophecy?" she gave me a cup of water.
"It means that's is only a small part of what's going to happen. The war is in three days right?"
I nodded. "Take good care of the holies Faith. And please guard the holy bell."
She bend on her knees and lowered her head. "Yes your holiness."
"And please stop coming from now on. Don't disturb me. I'll put a barrier in the mountain so no one can visit me. I need more time.."
"Yes." she said and left.
I close my eyes and hold my temples. I am nervous...
Everytime I'm cultivating there's a dark energy that is escaping my body. The true nature of this power it has dark energy and the blue flame, the dark energy will makes the blue flame stronger. So If I use it without controling it. The dark energy that is surging will control my body. Having these strong powers cost too much energy..it will also cost me my life.
I close my eyes and concentrating the energy flows. I puked blood and held my chest. It feels like my heart is pierced..Even tho I controlled it, this power is hard to tame.
After 3 years...
My minds is in a mess. The dark power is eating me, I thought I was able to control it but not. This is what I saw from mom in past, she was surrounding by black energy, she said that it's just the effect.
I have been cultivating for many years, but yet...I need to pass these powers to someone who has a dark power.
Azaniel came to my mind. I know his past, when he was little, he has a dark power. My mom discovered it and changed his power into light, mom said that even if he can control his power he is still dangerous. Dangerous that might break down the whole realm.
I need to find a way to get closer to him and transfer this power, the dark energy is already surging through my whole body. If I cultivate any further, I'll turn into a demon.

Azaniel's POV
It's my birthday today, and I don't feel like celebrating it without her.
"Stop pulling a long face. Faith said that Serena will attend your birthday but she will changed her appearance. You already know right?" I know what he mean.
"Yes man. Thanks!"
I'm so happy seeing her but I won't let her see how happy I am.
"So you came." in a serious tone.
"I'm bored that's why I came." she said and sat on her designated chair.
I can feel that there's something wrong. I look at her, she's drinking..
"Eat before you drink." she might get an upset stomach.
"Don't tell me what to do your holiness." I'm worried about you.
"Stop drinking sis, what's with the hurry?"
"Don't try to stop me Gabriel or I'll leave here."
"Gabriel let her." he hissed.
He walks towards me. "Why would you let her? she's a light weight. Do you see that? She's already tipsy."
I laugh. She's swaying..
"Careful miss." I clenched my fist. You dare touch what's mine.
"Oh your holiness." he lowered his head. I look at him with a cold gaze.
"Don't touch her." I coldly said.
"Y-yes." Gabriel immediately get her drunken sister.
"Hahahaha what a show. He's a prince you know."
"I don't give a damn."
"Well that prince is playboy, you did the right thing."
"Alright. Let her rest" I stood up.."Let me." he handed me Serena. I carried her back to her own room here in the holy palace.
I tucked her in and stood up..
"Don't leave Azaniel.." she muttered in her sleep. She grabbed my cloth.
I sat beside her and muttered.. "I'll be right here." I was surprise when she woke up and kiss me. "You drunkard"
We kissed passionately. What is this energy flowing into me..I pushed her back and she disappeared..
What the she transfer her power to me?
Serena's POV
I did it. I touch my lips. It is still swollen from that amazing kiss..
I put a barrier in the mountain..I can't hold the dark energy anymore! I unleashed the power, I look at the mirror. I'm now a demon surrounding by dark energy...how did mom manage to control the dark energy. How?
The war is near. They will win I'm sure of it. I smiled.

Azaniel's POV
I told Gabriel what Serena did. We even visits Serena in the mountain but the mountain has a strong and thick barrier. We suspected it was Serena who put it.
I layered another barrier on the mountain for extra protection.
"Serena. I'll be back." I touched the barrier and left.
"I can't find the demon king." Gabriel said in telepathy.
"I just sense a strong aura from afar. I think it's him." Faith nodded and instructed the holies to their positions.
"Everyone the demon king is already near. Aim your arrow at his army who's flying in the mid air!"
I won't let you see Serena again..
"Well well well. Is this the leader of an archangel? I never thought you'd be the holiness. Cause you are a bloodline of the past demon king. You never thought of your father? he was the past demon king and I killed him. Come to my side and I will spare you."
I grith my teeth. That's my long forgotten past and yet he dares to reveal that to the public.
"You will spare me? Hah! You are being ridiculous!" I attacked him with a sword and use a holy spell to the sword.
"Not bad for a youngster."
"Not bad? you're excessively bleeding." I smirk. I use the light power to eradicate him.
Before my power could reach him, he disappeared and saw him not far from me smirking..
"You are not the demon king." this is one of his generals.
"Ah. You can see through my disguise. This is a warning. This realm will meet its end." he said and disappeared..
"Your holiness their army has started to retreat." the soldier said.
My head hurts..
"For now treat the wounded soldier and make sure to guard the entrance properly. Anytime they're going to barge in here."
"Yes your holiness!"

"He said its his warning? How ridiculous of him. He's just scared of what will the outcome of this war." he stop and look forward. "Now that I saw it nearer, the symbol is wavering. Your true symbol is showing demon prince."
"My power and the blue fire phoenix inside my body is resisting and that cause the dark energy to awake. What about her?"
"Serena? I still can't get a hold of her. When I visit earlier, I saw the mountain has become a dark place. It seems like her body purified the dark energy on the blue fire phoenix that cause her to release such dark enormous power."
"Didn't you say your mom also possess this kind of power?" I hold my temples. This headache..
"Yes but the thing is I don't know how she managed to purge the darkness on the blue fire phoenix."
"We need to visit her now! I think something is happening to her."
"But you already knew that we can't. She even put barrier to prevent someone from visiting her."
"I'll crack that barrier."

Azaniel and Gabriel arrived at the peak of the mountain.
"The mountain is already dying… If the Holies see this, they will freak out for sure. To think one of the holy mountains would end up like this," Gabriel said.
"Let's not waste time. I'll crack her barrier this time."
Azaniel began casting a spell on the barrier, placing his hand on it. The barrier ignited with flames. As the fire blazed, cracks formed across its surface, and Azaniel smirked.
Once the barrier shattered, they hurried to where Serena was.
"It looks like a haunted house from the human realm," Gabriel paused. "Sister!" he called out.
"Let's split up."
"What do you think you're doing in a demon's house?" A cold voice echoed, startling both of them.
Azaniel couldn't speak—not from fear, but from the shock of seeing his lover transformed into a wicked demon.
"Sister. What the hell happened to you?!" Gabriel exclaimed.
"Sister? I don't remember having a brother like you. You're one of the Holies. And him," Serena pointed at Azaniel. "He's the highest Holy, right? Why are you two barging in here? Leave at once while I'm still in my right mind."
"No-" Azaniel began, but Serena interrupted him, pointing a sword at his face.
"Don't make me repeat myself."
Gabriel's POV
Is that really my sister? She's fast.
"We need to lock her up in the mountain. So that holies won't see her." Azaniel suggest.
"She is strong. Do you think we can handle her?"
"We can." he confidently said.
Sigh.
Serena's POV
I dropped the sword and started to cry.
"I almost killed him." my hands are trembling because of what happened. I can't control my body anymore. This is dangerous..
I wiped my tears and stood up.
"What?!" who put barrier here. I remember putting barrier but this is not mine. No. It must be Azaniel, are they planning to locked me here? No.
I tried to break the barrier by force. Damn it!
