Stupid Kid

"That could kill a man," some whispered.

"Is he...okay?"

"Is he even breathing at this point? That was such a hard fall."

The crowd was in an uproar. Gasps and murmurs spread throughout the arena as Kai lay motionless on the ground. Meanwhile, Aiden was back in his wheelchair.

He checked his body all over and sighed in relief when he realized he was really back.

"No feeling on my legs," he muttered. "Just how I like it."

The referees had halted the game, expecting a substitution. The medic team was halfway through the court when Kai suddenly stood, shocking everyone.

His face was shown on the screen, showing no sign of pain.

The crowd looked at him in disbelief.

A faint streak of blood trickled from a small cut above Kai's left eyebrow. Coach Xu Wei immediately stood up, signaling for a substitution.

However, Kai shook his head, his expression set in stone.
