HER NEW HOME

'You should have called me immediately, I would have beaten him to pulp or better still, call the cops' uncle Ken said

'It wasn't that much of an offence, infact, I would have beaten him myself, if not for the fact that I would have been late. Don't worry too much uncle Ken, everything is fine' Nicole said

'Alright, if you say so. Here ( he gave her her favorite chocolate pastries) I know you will miss this alot'

'Oh wow uncle Ken, I really appreciate this (just then the voice of the purser was heard). Uhm, uncle Ken, I think I really need to get going (she hugged him) and please do not tell grandma Lily about what happened today, I really don't want her to get worried. And don't forget to give her her meds'

'Alright, I promise to do so. Goodbye Nicole'

The journey to New York City was just three hours but it felt like days as she was already missing her family. Soon she arrived and decided to wait for her father in the waiting area. She then realized that she had never seen her father before and it will be awkward between them as she didn't know what to say. She stood up pacing up and down practicing words until a middle aged man in his late fourties approached her. Based on the pictures she had seen about her dad, she knew it was him. And likewise the man.

'Hey, he said sounding unsure. I'm Phil Norman. And you must be Nicolette Anderson? She stood transfixed on the spot but quickly regained her composure. 'Yes I am da..d. I'll get my bag'

'No, don't worry, he (he pointed at his driver) will take care of it. Follow me'. He led her towards his car to which she quickly got in, as if wanting to run away from him. Phil noticed this and said 'Wait here, the driver will soon arrive. I will be going ahead to welcome you at the mansion'. She felt relief wash over her at the mere thought of her father not joining her in the car. Phil saw this and could only sigh in disappointment as he didn't really expect her to accept him immediately.

On reaching the mansion, she gasped in surprise as she couldn't she couldn't believe that this was the house she was going to live in. It was so huge and beautiful that she was lost in a daze, until the driver announced their arrival again. She got back to her senses and quickly stepped out of the car. She was led by a servant towards the entrance of the mansion with the driver carrying her bags. She saw her dad and he welcomed her with a hug. This time it felt less awkward as she was already prepared in the car. He led her inside and introduced her to his wife, daughter and son

'Nicole we are glad you are here safely. We welcome you into our humble abode. Said Lucy Norman when she was introduced. This is our daughter Paula and our son Billy. Kids say hi to Nicole'

'Hi Nicole, I'm Billy, and I'm really glad to have another sister'

'I look forward to also having you as a brother'. She looked at Paula, expecting her to also say something when she hissed and walked away.

'Paula, Paula (her mother called after her but there was no response). I'm so sorry for her rude behavior. She usually isn't like this'

It's alright, aunt Lucy. Here, my grandma said I should hand this over to you once I get here. Nicole said, handing a small cooler containing food her grandma prepared.

'Looking at the food with so much disgust as she too had not gotten used to the fact that cheated on her, but was only trying to act nice. 'You can put it in the fridge'. She said not wanting to take them away from her.

'Hand them over, I'll take care of it'. Phil said as he noticed the look of disgust in his wife's eyes. But he was also grateful to her for not throwing a tantrum or running off like Paula. He could understand the situation they were in but he didn't want to force them to immediately accept Nicole who just showed up out of the blue. But he was willing to make amends and make peace reign as long as he lives.
