Chapter 379

"Sorry, Sister. I'd love to stand in for you on set, but I have a mission to complete today. My apologies!"

Hanabi clasped her hands together apologetically and left the house after explaining herself. She, too, wanted to watch her sister on set, but Konoha had grown increasingly busy lately. Many ninja had been reassigned to missions, and she was no exception.

"Hanabi... Alright, take care on your mission," Hinata replied gently, unable to bring herself to push her sister further.

Today was another filming day, and Hinata had reviewed the script in advance. The scenes to be filmed were even more daring than before, leaving her feeling uneasy.

The kiss from the last scene had already kept her up at night, weighed down by guilt toward Naruto. If the new scenes went beyond that, how could she face herself?

Hinata clenched her pale fingers, conflicted and uncertain about what to do.

She didn't dare to withdraw, though. The crew's enthusiasm and dedication to making this drama a success weighed heavily on her. She couldn't bear to disappoint so many people.

Her kindhearted nature made the thought of letting others down unbearable.

Before she realized it, Hinata arrived at the filming location. The crew greeted her warmly as she entered.

"Lady Hinata, you've arrived!"

"Lady Hinata, thank you for your hard work today. Please do your best!"

"Thank you, everyone. You're working hard too," she replied politely, bowing her head slightly as she made her way inside.

As soon as she entered, the makeup artist whisked her away, making small touch-ups that further accentuated her mature, elegant charm.

The makeup artist couldn't help but praise her. Hinata exuded a unique aura, a mix of gentle fragility and inner strength that made her stand out.

Once everything was prepared, Director Wada called Hinata over, signaling that filming was about to begin.

The first two scenes were straightforward, designed around Hinata's personality and experiences. She delivered her lines with ease, achieving a near-perfect performance.

After wrapping up the initial scenes, Wada called for a break and began clearing the set for the next sequence.

As the crew dispersed, Hinata approached Yoichi hesitantly, gently tugging on his sleeve. When he turned to her, she whispered,

"Yoichi-san, about the next scene... Can we not go as far as last time?"

"Last time?" Yoichi asked, feigning ignorance.

"I mean, please don't... you know, extend the kiss too much," Hinata stammered, her face flushing deeply. Even though she was married with children, discussing such matters with another man felt unbearably embarrassing.

"I'm married, Yoichi-san. This isn't appropriate."

"Lady Hinata, I think there's been a misunderstanding," Yoichi replied with a sigh, shrugging. "This is acting, not real life. Besides, I already have someone I like."

Hinata was taken aback. Before she could respond, Yoichi continued,

"If it's truly too much for you, I can speak to the director. But whether he agrees is another matter. If Director Wada doesn't approve, you might have to consider withdrawing from the show."

"What?"

Hinata froze, watching as Yoichi walked away to speak with Wada. After a brief exchange, Wada approached her directly.

"Lady Hinata, I heard from Yoichi-san that you're finding some parts of the script difficult. I understand; for someone new to acting, these scenes can feel overwhelming. But in the film industry, this is fairly common," Wada explained earnestly.

After bowing respectfully, he continued,

"Lady Hinata, my dream is to make this drama the most successful in the ninja world. Please persevere a little longer. If it's truly too much, I can leave the room during filming, along with the cameraman. We can pre-set the angles and let the camera roll while you and Yoichi-san finish the scene. What do you think?"

Hinata was stunned. "Director Wada, you mean... you and the cameraman would leave? How would the scene be shot?"

"We'll set the camera to run on its own," Wada explained. "If you're uncomfortable, we can even teach Yoichi-san how to operate it. My goal is simply to ensure the scene is captured, whatever it takes."

Wada's unwavering determination moved Hinata. She hesitated, fidgeting with her pale fingers before finally agreeing.

"Alright, Director Wada. I'll do my best."

The next scene was set in a bedroom. It depicted Yoichi and Hinata's characters giving in to their emotions, torn between guilt and forbidden longing.

Yoichi pretended to learn how to operate the camera before the crew left, leaving only him and Hinata in the room.

"Lady Hinata, filming begins in ten seconds. Get ready," Yoichi reminded her, counting down softly.

Hinata's nerves peaked as the countdown continued. When the moment came, she froze, forgetting her lines entirely.

"Lady, I'm sorry. I just can't help loving you," Yoichi said, stepping forward and embracing her.

Hinata froze as Yoichi's lips met hers. The unfamiliar sensation of his presence left her flustered, her breathing quickening.

"Lady Hinata, you should be resisting me now," Yoichi whispered in her ear before placing a soft kiss on her earlobe.

Hinata's body tensed, and she instinctively pushed against him with trembling hands.

"No, don't... This isn't right," she murmured, her voice matching her scripted lines perfectly.

Taking her resistance as part of the scene, Yoichi gently guided her to the bed, lowering her onto it as he leaned closer.

"You're being too forceful, Lady Hinata. Follow the script," Yoichi murmured in her ear, his tone gentle but firm.

Feeling guilty for her repeated mistakes, Hinata resolved to focus on the scene. Closing her eyes, she leaned up to meet his kiss.

Her robe had slipped slightly, and her pale skin glowed under the soft lighting. Yoichi took in her sweet scent, his hands brushing against her with calculated intent.

"Stop! Not there!"

Hinata suddenly snapped out of her daze, channeling chakra to push Yoichi away forcefully. She sat up, her face red with embarrassment and anger.

"Yoichi-san, how could you touch me like that? That's too much!"

As she hurriedly adjusted her disheveled clothing, she avoided looking at him directly, her voice shaky.

"Fix your clothes too, Yoichi-san. This is unacceptable."

Hinata's mind raced. If not for Naruto's image flashing in her thoughts, she might have gone too far. The realization filled her with guilt.

Yoichi adjusted his clothes and offered an apology, though his tone carried no real remorse.

"I'm sorry, Lady Hinata. I got carried away. But I thought it would enhance the scene. This was my mistake."

Internally, Yoichi smirked. "So close... Next time, I'll make sure to neutralize her chakra in advance," he thought, already planning his next move.

Out loud, he said, "The scene is mostly done. Should we call in the director to review it?"

Still flustered, Hinata agreed hesitantly. They reviewed the footage, finding only tame parts of the scene had been captured. Relieved, Hinata decided to let it go, though her frustration lingered.

"Lady Hinata, you did wonderfully," Wada praised after reviewing the footage. "I knew you could do it!"
