Coming to the future Konoha, Yoichi's initial plans were clear: find Ōtsutsuki Isshiki and gather some undiscovered treasures along the way.
Now, both goals were within reach. Uchiha Sasuke had located the dimension where Isshiki was hiding the Ten-Tails, and soon, Yoichi's Kamui clone would confirm the findings through exploration.
As for this timeline's treasures, Yoichi had already unearthed most of them. However, compared to material wealth, his greatest "treasures" were undoubtedly the women of this world.
Each conquest felt like opening a treasure chest—Ino's deep attachment, Temari's mature charm, and Hinata's steadfast loyalty to her family. Every one of them was worth savoring in their own way.
After instructing his Kamui clone to monitor the movements of Konoha's shinobi, Yoichi headed to the second floor to prepare some medicine.
Tomorrow was another filming day. Last time, he had almost succeeded with Hinata. Yoichi felt confident that this time he could win her over. Even though she would likely be even more guarded than before, as long as she came to the set, she would inevitably fall into his carefully laid trap.
"As a return gift, I'll solve the shinobi world's troubles before leaving," Yoichi mused, focusing on his medicinal preparations.
With the Five Great Shinobi Villages preparing to fight the Kara organization, casualties were inevitable. His secret medicines would undoubtedly come in handy.
In Konoha, for the civilians and shinobi unaware of Kara's existence, it was a peaceful day. The release of the new Orange Phone had even added a lively buzz to the village. Demand for the phones far exceeded supply, prompting the deployment of shinobi to maintain order among the long queues.
The phone's sleek design and powerful features made it irresistible, even for shinobi. Moreover, Yoichi had instructed the "manufacturing assistant" to enhance the phone's signal reception capabilities.
The Pioneer technology used for signal transmission allowed communication across spatial wormholes. Although the shinobi world's infrastructure was limited, the enhancements made the Orange Phone's signal transmission and reception dozens of times more efficient.
The phones' capabilities were so impressive that the Five Great Shinobi Villages had placed bulk orders from Yoichi's Rinnegan-powered company for use in emergency communications between their shinobi.
By sunset, the Orange Phone staff announced the next sale date, finally dispersing the crowd that had blocked an entire street.
Hinata's younger sister, Hanabi, emerged from the crowd clutching her new phone box and sighed in relief before breaking into a smile.
"I came straight here after finishing my mission. I almost didn't make it. I should visit my sister's house now and add her number," Hanabi thought, setting off toward the Uzumaki residence.
When she arrived and knocked, Hanabi was greeted by Himawari, whom she cheerfully picked up before heading inside.
"Hanabi? What brings you here today?" Hinata asked, emerging from the kitchen.
Smiling, Hanabi replied, "I finished my mission and bought a phone. I thought I'd drop by to see you all. I remember you have a phone too—let's exchange numbers."
"Why don't you stay for dinner? How's Father doing?" Hinata asked as she set the table.
"Don't worry about him. Someone's taking care of him at home. And lately, he's been in much better spirits—thanks to Himawari," Hanabi said with a smile.
Hinata chuckled softly. She knew how much her father adored Boruto and Himawari. Spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy. Without saying more, she returned to the kitchen to finish preparing dinner.
Before long, dinner was ready. Hinata called Himawari to fetch Boruto from upstairs, and the family sat down together.
"Hanabi-Aunt, you're here? Wait—is that an Orange Phone? You already got one?" Boruto's eyes widened in envy as he dashed over.
"You're so lucky. I want one too," he muttered, his voice filled with longing.
"If you save up after becoming a shinobi, you can buy one, Boruto!" Hanabi teased gently before glancing around. "By the way, where's Naruto-kun?"
"Don't bring up that lousy dad of mine! These days, we're lucky if he comes home once every four or five days!" Boruto grumbled as he slumped into his chair.
"Boruto! Don't speak about your father that way," Hinata chastised immediately.
"She's right, Boruto," Hanabi added. "Every ninja in the village is busy right now. Even I was notified to report to the Hokage building tomorrow. There's a chance I'll be sent on a mission soon."
Boruto clicked his tongue in frustration but didn't argue further, knowing deep down that he was wrong. Still, his long-standing resentment kept him from admitting it outright.
"Wait—Hanabi, you have a mission tomorrow?" Hinata asked, surprised.
"Yes, although I don't know the specifics yet. Why?"
Hinata hesitated before replying, "Tomorrow is the filming day for the drama. Remember, I mentioned wanting you to come with me…"
"Oh, right! I'm sorry, Sister. Maybe next time. I really can't make it this time," Hanabi apologized, clasping her hands together earnestly. She had been curious about the filming process herself, but her missions took priority.
"It's fine," Hinata said, forcing a smile. She didn't want to burden Hanabi, even though she had been hoping for her advice. The scenes scheduled for tomorrow worried her after what had happened last time.
The meal that followed felt tasteless to Hinata, though Hanabi, Himawari, and Boruto seemed to enjoy themselves.
...
The Next Day
"Mom, I'm heading to school. I'll drop Himawari off at Grandpa's on the way!"
Boruto called from the doorway before leaving with Himawari in tow.
Hinata stayed home for a while longer, her expression a mix of determination and unease. Taking a deep breath, she finally stepped out and began walking toward the drama set. Her face was tinged with both resolve and an involuntary blush.
