As the sky began to brighten, Sakura slowly woke from her sleep.
"Ino, what are you doing?"
Yoichi feigned a groggy state, acting as though he had just woken up. Then, upon 'opening his eyes in shock,' he quickly asked, "Sakura? Why is it you? Where's Ino?"
"I should be the one asking! Why are you here? How did you end up in this room?"
Sakura suppressed the anger in her heart. She was past the age of acting on impulse, but this situation was something she found hard to accept. If there wasn't a reasonable explanation, even if this was Ino's man, she would not let this slide.
Yoichi quickly responded, explaining the situation truthfully.
"This is Ino's and my room. Last night, Ino said she wanted to talk to you, so she went to your place. Then she came back alone in the middle of the night. I thought she had finished talking to you and returned to sleep. How come it's you?"
Yoichi displayed an innocent expression on his face, but in reality, he had orchestrated the entire scene last night, even using a specially designed nano night-vision camera to record everything in high definition.
"This isn't my room?"
Although she posed it as a question, Sakura quickly realized that the surroundings were indeed unfamiliar. The scenery outside and the furnishings in the room were entirely different.
Did she enter the wrong room by mistake?
Her initial anger deflated instantly. Now, she didn't know how to react. If she had been the victim, she would have undoubtedly sought revenge, venting her frustration.
But this time, she was the one who had made the mistake. She had likely stayed too long in the hot spring, got drowsy, and stumbled into the wrong room in a daze.
"How could this happen…"
Sakura's heart was filled with discomfort. Everything had happened because she mistakenly entered the wrong room, even willingly slipping under Yoichi's blanket.
She was unwilling to accept this, but she had no one to blame. It was her own carelessness that led to this situation.
"Sakura, what do you plan to do now?"
Yoichi put on a face of concern and slight distress, grabbing his clothes to get dressed.
Hearing this, Sakura couldn't help but glance at Yoichi in irritation. But as she did, something caught her eye, making her breath hitch and forcing her to look away.
After Yoichi finished dressing, he turned to Sakura and said, "Get dressed first. We need to deal with this properly. You can't even have a proper conversation like this."
With that, he left the room.
Sakura took a deep breath, slowly suppressing the inexplicable anger in her heart. Once Yoichi was gone, she cautiously lifted the blanket and saw the undeniable proof left behind from the previous night.
"Sasuke-kun…"
Tears welled up in her eyes as she called his name.
She hurriedly put on her yukata, which had been tossed aside the night before. Fortunately, it wasn't too damaged.
After getting dressed and tidying up the bedding, Yoichi returned from the next room.
He sat two meters away from her and sighed. "Sakura, what do you plan to do about last night?"
"I… I don't know."
Sakura knelt in seiza, her head lowered, eyes closed. Her hands clenched into fists, pressing tightly against her thighs, revealing the tension and helplessness within her.
"You were probably drunk and entered the wrong room. Why don't we just pretend nothing happened?"
Yoichi continued with a pained expression, "Honestly, I don't want Ino to know about this. She's your best friend, and if she finds out… she might break up with me. I truly want to marry her."
Sakura hesitated. She thought of Sasuke.
She didn't want to deceive him, but this mistake was entirely due to her unconscious actions. And now…
She felt as if Sasuke and Sarada were standing right in front of her, condemning her as an unfaithful wife and mother.
"Let's keep it a secret… I don't want this getting out either."
She lifted her tear-streaked face, her reddened eyes meeting Yoichi's. This was the only choice she had. She would bury this secret deep in her heart, never speaking of it again.
"This is the best we can do… I'm really sorry for last night. If I had been more aware, I would've realized you weren't Ino… I'm sorry, Sakura."
Having taken full advantage of the situation, Yoichi still put on a regretful face, making Sakura feel slightly less resentment towards him.
After all, it was her mistake that caused all of this.
"No… it's not your fault. Let's just pretend it never happened. You must never tell anyone."
Sakura felt physically and emotionally drained, yet she forced herself to stand. Her heart was in turmoil. What exactly had happened last night to leave her feeling so weak?
"I'm going back now. Ino is—"
"She's probably still asleep. She's been sleeping deeply lately. If she hasn't come looking for you yet, then everything should be fine. But you'll need to come up with an excuse, Sakura," Yoichi reminded her.
