Agenda

The day had been hectic for Kelvin and almost running into someone was definitely, far-fetched. He was sure he didn't see her coming when he made the curve. But that doesn't justify anything. He almost killed someone.

But what was weird about it all was the fact that he couldn't seem to get her off his mind. Though he had sincerely apologized and had wanted to show his remorse, he received a cold shoulder. The look she gave him seemed to taunt his mind. This alone made him restless.

Pulling into the forecourt of the huge mansion, he veered into the parking space. The path lights were the only source of vision when he stepped out of the car. His brows creased, seeing the indoor lights off.

"He should be here by now?" he said, scooping the bulk of documents sitting in the backseat into his arms. "I don't know why I'm the one doing all this." he added, slamming the door shut with his foot. And headed inside.

Managing his way into the living room, he switched on the lights. "Why are you coming in now?" A femine voice rasped his ears- jumpscaring him as his gaze driftly went to it.

"Jesus! Meline..." he cried on noticing who it was. "Why the hell were you sitting in the darkness?" he stressed, seeing the documents he had spent almost the whole day putting together scattered on the floor.

Meline, his twin sister, giggled as she shrugged to her feet- heading towards her brother. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." she said, picking up some of the documents just a few steps away from him. "But seriously, you should have seen yourself." she laughed.

Kelvin picked the last documents in his reach. Jolted to his full length, not in anyway bothered by his sister's jokes. "By the way, what are you doing here?" he inquired, walking past her who was still crouch on the floor picking the last few documents in her reach. "Wasn't the business trip with Dad suppose to end somewhere next week?"

He was by now in the living room. He sets the documents on the glass table- turning to face his twin who was now approaching with the rest of the papers.

"Well..." she starts and pauses. Kelvin stares with ears etch- watching as she made her way from the entrance to the living room and set the papers in her hand beside his. Then, settled in the same spot she was sitting earlier when he walked in.

"... The meetings ended earlier than anticipated." she finally answered. "What's all these documents?" she added, jerking her head towards the papers on the table.

"Clinton asked for them. I don't know what for, don't ask me." He informed, wandering off to his room.

Merline smiles, throwing her legs on the sofa as she rested his back. "What are we having for dinner?" she shouted.

"Check the freezer or better still, order yourself something." Kelvin's voice radiated from the hallway leading to his room.

The phone rings successively for three consecutive times but there was no answer. "Could it be that she is sleeping?" she muttered as she glanced at the screen of the phone.

"It's almost midnight." She uttered on , putting the phone away. "I have to be at work early to finalize every necessary items and equipments needed for the upcoming shot."

She sighs, looking in her mother's direction for the last time before pulling the covers over herself.

Following the blinking red dot on the satellite navigation on his car, Nolan finally got to Paige's new residence. Asking for his ID, the security gate was lifted- allowing him through.

A few drive in, Clinton's car drove past his without knowledge of each other. The continueous ringing from his phone had him reaching for it from the phone holder sitting over the dashboard. Checking at the time, he knew whom the caller would be.

Nolan on the other hand, pulled up in the distance as he found Paige's new apartment. He was going to get out of the car to approach the building but a call came in. He had wanted to ignore but seeing whom the caller was meant emergency.

"Where are you?" a feminine voice rasped his ears the moment he answered. But before he could voice out his location, the voice snapped, "Wherever you are, get back here, now." she sounded with some degree of finality and the line went dead.

Nolan glanced the screen of the phone. Hesitated a bit as his gaze went to the building then clicked his tongue- throwing the phone in the front passengers seat. Reversed and veered back the same way he drove in.
