As I took a steadying breath and composed myself in the restroom, I realized the fatigue wasn't fading. Instead, a slight dizziness seemed to linger, a reminder that the night was quickly catching up with me. Deciding it was best not to push myself, I returned to Chris, who was chatting with a small group by the entrance, his gaze flickering to me the moment I approached.
He immediately noticed my paler complexion and put a gentle hand on my arm. "You ready to head out?" he asked softly, his concern evident.
