I can't explain why or how this cycle repeats for me. Yet, what I do understand is each time I die, I return to the starting point, a zombie apocalypse, and continue my journey anew.

In my first apocalypse, I overlooked the creeping signs of doom until overrun by zombies in my flat, where I perished in sheer terror.

The second attempt to alert others of the impending chaos fell on deaf ears; labelled a lunatic, I fled the city, only to succumb to starvation and exposure alone in the wild.

By the third go, I sought safety in wealth, collecting vast supplies, yet fell victim to a brutal gang.

Now, understanding the key—precise foresight, survival skills, strict secrecy, and solitude—I see the purpose in reliving this collapse. This time, failure is not an option. This time, I will survive and outlive the apocalypse.

My Last Apocalypse

Yui's detailed narrative about her previous existence imbues the atmosphere with a grave solemnity as she recounts the dire events that unfolded after the outbreak began.

"After the onset of the pandemic, the researchers simply deserted us," she recounts with a trace of anguish. "We were ensnared in a distant research facility, utterly isolated and devoid of any means to flee. They withheld the crucial code that would unlock the gate and allow our escape."

Her gaze becomes shadowed with memories as she elaborates. "We endeavoured to make do with the scant provisions left behind at the facility."

An oppressive silence envelops the room, magnifying the impact of her tale, which vividly depicts intense desperation and abandonment. "I was utterly bewildered as to why the authorities would abandon us in such a dire situation, but as events unfolded, the harsh reality became painfully clear," she adds, her voice imbued with a bitter undertone.
