Body Guard

(Levar Point of View)

After our game, we eat dinner, clean up, and then head to bed. I couldn't help but think she was hiding something from me the entire time. In the morning, she is already gone. I get out of bed and make myself breakfast. I get toast and coffee. I start cleaning up around the house while I play with Lev. He seems to have a lot of energy today. When I am done cleaning, I get Lev some food as his bowl is empty. He doesn't eat right away so he must have just finished it off, however, when I fill up his water he goes straight to it so he is thirsty. I'm unsurprised that he was since he has been playing a lot today. I head back into the living room. It is still a bit weird not having Asaka around all of the time but I'm sure I will get used to it with time. If not, this is going to feel really lonely. I did get used to just staying in my room so it shouldn't be that hard to do.

While I am making myself lunch, I hear a knock at the door. I look down at Lev confused. Asaka normally comes in. Did she invite someone over without telling me? I walk over to the door and I open it. I see a man at the door. He looks buff and ready to kill.

"Hello. Are you Levar Kos?"

How does he know my name? "I am. Who are you?"

"I am Abaddon Hel. I was sent here as your bodyguard." What? Why? Who? When? I wasn't told anything about this and the only person I could think of that would be Asaka but he said he is for me, not her. Also, do police officers have bodyguards? Is that normal? "Sir? Are you alright? Miss. Asaka told me to keep you safe and not let anything happen to you after what had just happened." Okay. That makes sense.

I nod my head slightly before opening up the door more. "You should come in then. I was making myself lunch."

He comes in before following me to the kitchen. He just stands behind me as I make myself a sandwich. Weirdly, he is just watching me. Is that what he is going to do, watch me? I think I would rather be alone than this. It's like he knows something. It's really weird. I hate this. Hopefully, Asaka will get home soon and I can ask her about this. I look back at him.

"Do you want one?"

"No sir, I am good. I had food before I came here and I have snacks just in case."

I nod my head slightly. Why does he add sir to it? I'm glad that I pass for him but still, he is like the definition of a man, and calling me sir makes it seem like I am above him somehow. I guess he is supposed to be keeping me safe, but sir isn't needed. I'm not above him in anything. Just looking at him that is clear. "You know, you can just call me Levar. You don't need to call me sir."

"That would be disrespectful sir and goes against what I was told to do."

"What do you mean, goes against what you were told?"

"Just like how I have to call Miss. Asaka ma'am, I have to call you sir."

"Then what will you call me when you are t walking about me like you do with Asaka?"

"Mr Levar."

"Then call me that when you talk to me."

"Sir, I don't think you realize that that would be seen as disrespectful and Miss Asaka has always been clear that she won't take any form of disrespect and if you are close enough with her that you get a bodyguard and not her, then I can imagine she will be more strict about you."

She must have a lot of power as a police officer with how is talking. I guess that he won't change his mind about this. "Alright, then what do you want me to call you?"

"Abaddon, sir."

"Will do, Abaddon." I head to the living room and I start eating my sandwich. "So what do you know about me?"

"Your name is Levar Kos, you are dating Miss Asaka, causing her to care for you deeply, you worked at a bar in a strip club, you don't have any close family, and you know of Miss Asaka now missing leg."

I nod my head. "That is all correct. Is that all you know?"

"Yes, I was just given a brief description of you so I would know what to expect and so I can protect you a bit better."

"Makes sense."

I go back to eating. As I eat and he watches me, I start feeling weird that he is just staring at me. I don't like it. All that I can think of is that he knows something that I don't know. Like I am hiding something from him and he is waiting for me to tell him.

"So is Asaka in a high position with her job?" Hopefully, this gets him to stop staring or at least it's something to talk about so it isn't as bad.

"What do you mean? She is the boss. She inherited it after her dad's death. Maybe say she killed him but I don't believe that. She was like 16 when it happened and no one was able to get close to him. It took a while for everyone to get used to it. I wasn't employed until a bit after she was in charge but I could tell everyone was getting used to it."

"What do you mean? Police officers don't inherit jobs, right?"

I hear him let out a low cold chuckle. "She is a mafia boss. Sure she does police work on the side to keep the police off of her but she isn't a real one to say. If anything, it's a part-time job for extra cash."

I look down into my lap when I hear his words.
