Songbirds Aren't Free

Tid-Bit watched in stunned silence as the woman in front of her unlocked her magic, having a glowing silver aura to her as she sung. 

After she finished Tid-Bit couldn't help but take her hood down, revealing all the rotted parts of their body.

The audience around them seemed to freeze, some running, some screaming, some just straight up passed out. But not the woman, she looked stunned, but she burst into a laughter that almost sounded like a bird chirping.

"You're undead!? That is funny. No wonder you didn't see me as different."

"I didn't see you as different?" Bit said with a smile on her face, causing the woman to sigh and lean against the wall behind her. 

"Well, I just figured you liked music, I mean that or your making fun of me. I saw you laughing earlier."

"That wasn't me, that was Ven, we're different."

"So an undead with split personality. Great." She said with a small giggle, nudging her on the shoulder.

"You got a name then, Singsong?" 

"I'm Tid-Bit, but the guy's body is Ven. You are, Miss?"

"Avis. Avis Carmen." She said with a smile under her mask.

"Like a bird?"

Avis sighed at the comment. "Yes like the bird, under normal circumstances it would be a nice name. Now it's irony."

Tid-Bit seemed confused but before she could say anything, multiple squad cars came up. A voice over a speaker said in a rough, almost hound like voice: "Unauthorised Undead, Human. Turn yourselves in immediately. This is not a warning. We will aim to kill."

"Oh no. I can't get in trouble with the Decaynines! I'm to naïve for Detainment!" Avis said in a scared voice as she looked at the police forces.

Ven tagged in with his smirk written all over. "Well, do you trust me to get you out of this?"

"I-I guess...? W-Why did your voice go all masculine as well?"

"Will you let me stay at your place if we get out?"

"Fine! Yes!" She yelled in reluctant agreement. Ven laughed, tapping his temple. "Hey Tid, can you get me the quickest way to escape?"

Tid-Bit began racing off, before coming back in less then 5 seconds. "Follow."

Ven used a portal to quickly scale Avis's equipment down before grabbing her by the arm and jumping through a portal onto a roof top.

"WHATDIDYOUJUSTDO!?" She yelled in confusion and excitement as she ran after Ven who was laughing his ass off.

"We're about to have some fun, Birdie." He said as he pulled out Heartbreaker and jumped through portals to deal with the incoming aerial support that was chasing the two of them down.

He weaved through them with ease, not even slowing down for a brief rest. 'Perks of being undead' he thought as he sliced the wing off of one of the cruisers, and jumping off before it exploded in a fiery display.

"What the hell are you!?" Avis asked with a bubbly tone as she jumped from roof to roof.

"I'm just your average mercenary turned Undead by an AI after his girlfriend killed him." he said as he dove through portals like he was swimming mid air. 

Tid-Bit on the other hand was still calculating an escape, but saw a weird increase in power. "Ven, we got someone strong... What the hell is it." 

The sound of what sounded like idol music was blaring down the streets like it was a festival. "Is that idol music? This city has Idol music blaring at this time of da... Nigh... What time is it?"

Avis seemed to freeze, as having lived in the underbelly for so long, the sound of Idol music and a sense of dread meant one thing. "WE'VE GOT TO GO NOW!!" She yelled as she some how ran faster.

Ven didn't seem worried, but noticed that webs were forming around them, as the normal neon lights were lit up by something more... Menacing somehow. It was like rave lights were beginning to appear everywhere.

Avis looked more panicked while Ven stared at her with his usual casual look. "What's wrong? It's just a party, right?"

"NO, WE JUST PISSED OFF A DOMAIN LEADER!"

"Please, a leader of this city is probably as powerful as a regular leader right? So, only has political backing and br-" Tid-Bit cut him off, saying in a concerned voice for an AI.

"This isn't good. Whatever powerful force was approaching is already here."

"Hey, Avis which domain leader did we piss off?"

"Eido, The Spider Idol of Pandora."

Before Ven could respond, he was pulled back by webs. Avis got caught as well, and before the 2 new it, they were in the web of the Leader of the smallest Domain. Eido.
