Ami was sat on one of the many seats of the cathedral, seemingly praying to Mollia as a gigantic flat screened monitor loomed before her. Ami's Decaynine guard had seemingly left her to her own devices. Avis, Fox and Vinea were hidden behind a podium as Ami began muttering a prayer.
"O A-A-Angel before me, guide my way a-a-and allow me to b-b-be remembered a-a-as a hero l-like Mollia b-b-before me."
Avis rolled her eyes at the prayer before noticing something was off, the monitor was flickering on and off, glitching wildly before an angelic figure appeared on screen. "O Little one, you need not worry about... Her. You will be a shining star, one of your own merit." The angel said in a calm, soothing voice.
Everyone looked a bit stunned, even Fox let out a hitched breath in surprise. Ami began conversing with it, failing to notice the trio slowly shift up to a more advantageous position. Fox put Red and Blue together, the mimics shifting into a sniper rifle he nicknamed "Violet". Avis gave him a light punch on the arm, yelling in a whispery voice; "You're not shooting her!"
The angel seemed to notice them, taking a step out of the screen, appearing more holographic in nature as she raised Ami's head up with a comforting smile. "It appears you have intruders, My Little Hero. Why don't you show them the door."
Vinea quickly shoved Avis out Fox's way, yelling at him; "Shoot! Shoot! JUST BLOODY SHOOT!"
Fox didn't hesitate, taking a deep breath before quickly aiming his sights on Ami's heart and firing. Ami let out a panicked squeal as a sword made of a golden divine light blocked the bullet.
"Oh."
"My."
"..." Fox quickly leaped for the back room, knowing the Decaynine would be there at any moment. He flicked the scope, having Violet speak for him as the rushing stomps of the Decaynine grew louder. "Get Ami!"
The two quickly scrambled over the edge of a railing, jumping down with a thud. "Vin, I got a plan. Just follow along." Avis said as she shook her slightly injured leg. She pulled out her speaker as Ami pulled out Mollia's sword. "W-W-Who are y-you! D-Don't t-t-try anything, y-y-you're messing w-with a Domain L-Leader!"
"We don't care, even though you are a truly mighty warrior, and stand no real chance of beating thee, we shall try our hardest to defeat you!" Avis yelled in a valorous tone, lightly stomping her foot for Vinea to do the same.
"Oh, uh... Yeah. We won't win..." He said with a confused glance to Avis, who nudged her head to Ami, who looked a bit more confident now.
"Y-Yeah, y-you know exactly h-how this'll go!" She gave a half hearted smirk, charging at the two with blade in hand. Ami was rather sloppy in her swordsmanship, so the duo were able to dodge without much problem, but still made it look like she was close to hitting them.
"Y-Y-You two a-are s-strong for assassins! Y-Y-You must be w-worthy to b-be able to dodge m-my strikes." Ami said with a grin, swing for Avis's head, which she barely dodged, getting a few feathers cut.
Vinea noticed an opening and punched at her face, only to be met by the angel holding the sword of light. "Uh, uh, uh. That's not very nice, now is it?" It smirked, shoving him away with the sword, knocking off one of his robotic fists. The angel faded away, letting Ami continue battling Avis.
She had managed to dodge only so many blows, only to get a slash on her thigh, letting out a pained screech. Ami couldn't help but laugh triumphantly as Avis backed away. "Ha ha, y-y-you are no match for A-Ami Newstarr, t-t-the true hero o-of the underbelly! T-The one who s-shall liberate all humans f-from y-you filthy monsters!"
Avis clutched her leg in pain and pulled out her speaker, humming a few notes to a song into her mic and summoning some string she aimed at her leg to stitch it up. She took a few breaths and turned to look at Vinea who was wearily standing up, also in a bit of pain. "Yeah... Real hero you are." She grumbled.
Vinea motioned for Avis to keep talking as he began creeping one of his Vines over to Ami. "W-What d-do you m-mean, monster? I-I am a-a hero!"
"Really? You're nothing but a child playing dress up." She smirked, raising her hands in surrender. Ami pointed her sword at her with a frustrated glare. "S-Shut it, I-I-I'm more of a-a hero t-then y-you'll ever be! W-What are y-you s-s-some ugly f-f-feathered idiot? I-I-I bet that's w-why y-you came h-here, b-because no one w-wanted an u-ugly, f-feathered monster!"
"Oh you're one to talk. I know your family left you to die in some dump! You're nothing but a burden!" Avis yelled back, seeming to be more angered by the comments then she let on. Ami let out a slight yelp, shutting up, her hands trembling. She was the type of girl who could say all she wanted, but the second confronted, would crumble like a tower of cards.
"W-What d-do y-you k-know, f-freak! I-I bet your family never loved you!" She tried to argue back, only for Avis to clutch her mic, putting it to her face mask. "And yet you're the adopted one!" She screeched into the mic with pure anger.
The speaker set off, sending soundwaves across the church, each string set right at Ami. She tried her best to dodge, only to get hit by a relentless barrage of piercing string. The angel reappeared, summoning a dome of light around her. Ami looked like she was about to cry, clutching her head as the angel tried to soothe her with kind words.
"Woah... Shit, you made her cry." Vinea snickered, withdrawing his vine back as he stood next to Avis. "Oh come on, it's not like she was actually a threat. Even I can beat her. And I'm me." Avis sighed, letting out a light snicker to herself as she realised she went a bit overboard.
The angel continued trying to soothe Ami, only to be met with her banging against the dome in unfiltered hatred. "SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP! EVERYONE SHUT UP!" She yelled, causing everyone to freeze. Ami quickly grabbed Mollia's sword and split the barrier open, rushing at Avis with a fury ridden glare. "I'LL RIP YOU APART!"
Vinea quickly used a vine to trip her up, causing her to fall forward and drop her sword right in front of the duo's feet. "Did... Did we really win already?" Avis asked, only to see Vinea laughing like a mad man.
The angel sighed, stroking Ami's back with a thoughtful smile. "You'll get them next time. Don't worry." But Ami wasn't going to take this lying down, instead pulling out the sub-mind she kept in her pocket. "I'll show you monsters, I'll show you all!" She yelled, the angel disappearing again as Ami stood up, four swords of light floating behind her menacingly.
"Grab, grab, Grab!" Vinea yelled as Avis quickly grabbed Mollia's sword and tossed it to Vinea. "You go and meet up with Fox, I'll catch up." Avis yelled at him, and with a bit of hesitation, Vinea ran off to find Fox.
"Y-You and me, bird brain!"
