"Rise and void, new boss!" Kiola yelled as she kicked open Lucy's rusty cabin door with an excited look in her eye as the sleeping demon laid motionless. She let out a confused huff of mist and began shaking her wildly. "Are you dead?" She mused poking Lucy in one of her eyes.
Everyone on the airship, asleep or awake, heard the sound of demonic screeching and draconic screaming. "Huh? Did we die?" Avis mumbled as she groggily got out from her bed, lightly tapping Vinea, who slept on the floor with a blanket due to losing a bet. "Get up, Dude..." She groaned, lifting her overgrown silver hair out of her face.
Vinea slowly rose to his vined feet and ruffled his hair in the mirror next to Avis while she began tying her hair up in her signature bizarre feathered mohawk style. After the two had finished up their daily routine of getting ready, they stepped out onto the main deck of the void sailing airship, taking in the crisp, somehow breathable, empty air.
"So, what's your plan today, bird brain?" Vinea said as he doused himself in water from a bottle. "I dunno? We've kinda done everything. Granted, I've been learning magic from Lucy, just to be that extra bit better then you." She said with a smirk on her beak, making him chuckle a bit.
"This has been the longest month of our lives... Has it been a month?"
"I think so? Mollia, does time even apply here?"
"N-Nope, N-Nope, Nope." A familiar glitchy voice called out from behind. They turned to see the ever knowledgeable of all things related to worlds and the stars that surround them, Ami, still possessed by Penumbra.
"Yo, Aminumbra. How's life?" VInea asked with a wave of his vines, seeming to make the ever timid girl feel special. "W-Well..." Before Ami could get a word in, her voice began to glitch lightly as Peni took over. "We are doing fine. The Stars are in order, the food is adequate and we have been watching people in my ever so petty niece's city."
"You know, it is really annoying when you just take over someone's body mid conversation, right?" Avis said with a light scowl, adjusting her jacket. Peni scoffed at the words, waving a dismissive hand as her galaxy covered eye glared at the harpy. "You w-w-w-would do well to watch your tone."
"Sorry? All I heard was "Avis, thank you for humbling me and letting me reside in your sister's body for free". So you're welcome, Peni."
"I can move the stars, t-t-tear souls asunder! You merely beat me in a weakened form!"
"Cough cough Trapped in a tape by Rat. Cough cough" Vinea said with a smirk as Peni prepared to take her ever so petty revenge, only to be stopped by Ami taking back her body. "W-We're doing alright... Though Peni wants t-t-to be strong again... We can barely summon ink now."
Avis and Vinea couldn't help but laugh at the words. They continued to chat with Ami and Peni, yet meanwhile on the other side of the ship, Arachne and Senshi had been complaining about each other to Parfait in the lower decks of the ship, who was more then happy to listen. Ever since getting spontaneously married, they had been at each others throats more then ever.
"A-A-And she d-d-doesn't even say I-I love y-you anymore before we sleep!" Senshi said with a saddened insect like chattering while she curled her centipedal body around, using it as a vantage to literally stare Arachne down as the two stood on a metal table covered in steampunk equipment.
"Well, Senshi doesn't ever say that she misses me when I go for a walk around the ship. She just nods on and continues reading her stupid books!" Arachne complained as she crossed all 6 of her arms, looking up to Parfait, who was idly playing with her hair. Even a god can get bored of listening to the same complaints after awhile.
"Why don't you two try... Spending some time apart?" The angelic, bubbly, ever so fun loving goddess said with a bored sigh. The two looked between each other, seeming offended. "Y-You think w-we'd spend t-time apart?" Senshi said as he antenna twitched in annoyance, with Arachne nodding in agreement.
"Yeah! We love each other! What kind of god are you? Suggesting we spend time apart. Senshi can't get enough of me." Arachne said with a tip of her hat, pointing one of her back arms at Senshi, who awkwardly looked away.
"I-I mean... Y-You do g-go on and on a-about performances a b-bit to much." She awkwardly looked away, seeming a bit too meek to look the former spider idol in the eyes. Arachne looked like she was about to loose her mind at the mere thought of Senshi being bored of her.
"Is someone telling you to say this? Was it that blue kobold who's always at Kiola's side? Are you sleeping with her!? I'll kill you!" Without warning, Arachne had worked herself into a frenzy and leapt for Senshi. The two bugs began getting in a little fight that Parfait couldn't help but enjoy.
After letting the two fight for a few minutes, the goddess came up with an excellent (And more entertaining) Idea. "You two are clearly struggling to cope with your new lives. So why don't you two try being opposites?"
The bugs looked at each other, a bit confused as Parfait let out a playful giggle. "You said Senshi made you into a spider, so why don't you try getting along as opposites?"
Before the two even had time to properly react, Parfait tossed Senshi into the air and, with a twirl of the halo on her head, transformed the little, brown haired centipede woman into a rather nerdy, yet weirdly cute human woman... Who fell through the table when she landed.
Arachne was completely disorientated by both being flung from the table and at the sight of her wife being human. "She looks..."
"Weird? Not my finest miracle." Parfait sighed, getting ready to change Senshi back when she realised this wasn't fun for herself, but Arachne motioned for her to hold off, seeming to be into the idea. Though Senshi herself was freaking out as she struggled to stand on her two legs. "H-How do people w-walk like t-this!?" She complained, tripping over and landing right in front of a smirking Spider.
"Heh... Let's see that kobold try and steal you now."
As Arachne and Parfait had to now teach Senshi how to walk on her own two feet, they could here the sounds of what sounded like a chase happening above them. Kiola was running for her life across the ship as a furious, barely awake Lucy chased after her with chains at the ready.
"H-hey, come on Boss. It w-was a joke!" The dragoness yelled back as she barely blocked one of the warden's chains. "I'll flay you alive!" She yelled back. All of Kiola's crew were rather amazed at the sight of the normally fearless and ruthless captain being chased by a woman who was about half her size.
"C-Come on, I didn't even know you could feel pain!" Kiola yelled as she quickly turned a corner, only to be met with chains blocking her escape. "####..." She mumbled before being thrown through the floor by a hard whip of Lucy's chains.
The dramatic demon let out a sigh, dusting her hands. "Carry on with your day." She said with a flick of her wrist to nearby crew members, who were all looking down the hole she had just made.
Once Kiola had recovered from her little fall through the floor, she gathered everyone together onto the front deck, Ami next to her, as she pointed out the the ever expanding star on the horizon.
"Today. Today our month long journey through this void comes to an end! With this new world, we will pillage, kill and eat whatever we want! Who's with me?" She said with a roar of laughter as her crew began to cheer.
But her cheering was cut short as Lucy dragged her backwards with a few chains, taking her spot. "Correction. You all now fall under my control. No killing, no pillaging and you will eat when ordered." She said in her usual flat, monotone voice.
Everyone looked confused, muttering and mumbling between themselves. "But Kiola let's us do what we please. Why would we listen to you?" The short blue scaled kobold, Cyel, yelled out, with most of the crew muttering and nodding in agreement.
But as they did, Kiola motioned for them to settle down as she let out a misty sigh of submission. "Lucy is our new boss. We listen to her... Or she'll skin us alive. You all remember what happened to Ra'ski, right?"
Everyone began quieting down, except Cyel, who let out an annoyed huff and went off to her cabin. Avis and Vinea watched on with mild amusement, before their attention was taken by Arachne kissing some random woman.
"Do we stay and watch this or check out Arachne?" Vinea asked with a smirk. Avis tapped her chin with her robotic hand, looking between her options. "We shoooould be preparing for the new world, but I do love love triangles. Let's call her out on it!"
As Lucy finished up her speech and went to prepare for the start of their next journey, Avis and Vinea quickly ran over to Arachne and her mystery partner, who were awkwardly trying to figure out how to kiss with the vast size difference between them.
Vinea pointed at the two while Avis played a dramatic violin sound effect through the speakers on her wings. "Arachne, Why are you cheating on Senshi!" He yelled dramatically. The two seemed confused, but the woman let out a nervous giggle as she waved to them.
"G-Guys... It's me."
"Who? Some hot chick ruining our friends marriage?" Avis said as she eyed the woman up and down. "Yeah! ...Wait, what?" Vinea raised his eyebrow in confusion as he turned to the harpy.
"What? Senshi is cute and all, but the centipedeness does creep me out."
"Dude, it shouldn't matter if she's hot. This woman is ruining Senshi's life. So what's the thing you do when something like this happens?"
"Jump 'em?"
"Jump 'em."
Before the two could even try to jump Senshi, Arachne waved one of her back arms, pinning the harpy and plant kid to the wall with silk. "You idiots. This is Senshi." After a few minutes of recounting what happened, Avis and Vinea began looking Senshi's human form out.
"Huh. I guess it really is her." He mumbled while Avis awkwardly gave Arachne a thumbs up. "Sorry for uh... Thinking you were with cheating. And sorry for calling you hot, Senshipede."
"N-None t-taken?" The former centipede said with a confused smile. "Well, that's that sorted. I guess we should just wait The new world, right?" Arachne said with a bored look, swinging away from the three.
"Oh M-Mollia, is she upset already?" She complained, walking with Avis and Vinea to the front deck to see their voyage finally end as the ship began speeding into a bright white star. A mesmerising pattern began to form around them as everyone looked awestruck at the dancing lights of the ever infinite universe.
But before they could even properly see their new world, the ship was unable to take the stress of crossing the void any longer. Ami used her heart to have a brief glimpse into the future, yelling for everyone to grab something.
The ship was thrown out of the ever infinite space and began descending violently towards the earth below. Kiola was the first to react, jumping from the ship as her form became enshrouded in mist before emerging as a full, icy blue scaled dragon. She used her strength to at least slow the descent.
Lucy watched on with minor enjoyment, calmly covering herself and everyone on the front deck in a dome of chains. "Relax. No one gets to die on my watch." She smirked, rifling through her ruined suit pockets.
She then noticed the keychain sized cell that contained all of Pandora's Tears and its many inhabitants sliding off the side of the ship. Lucy let out a horrid scream, ordering Avis to try and grab her city as she opened a whole in the dome.
The harpy just barely managed to grab the keychain, letting out a triumphant chirp as she hovered over the deck. "I got it-" But was interrupted by a piece of debris hitting her, knocking her unconscious as she fell to the ground below.
Vinea, along with Lucy and Senshi quickly jumped off the ship, leaving Parfait to protect everyone, which she was less then excited about.
With the three of them freefalling together, they managed to grab Avis and the keychain, but Vinea pointed out the obvious. "How do we stop falling?"
"Simple. We... We uhm. I suppose we really did rush to do this." Lucy mumbled. Senshi and Vinea began screaming, while Lucy turned back to see the airship Kiola had been ever so proud of, explode into pieces.
"Hmm... I suppose Parfait will live, along with Peni. The rest? Who knows." She lightly giggled.
"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT THAT!?" Vinea screamed as they were about to hit the ground, before being quickly saved by a blue blur. "Relax... I'd never let my new boss die so easily." Kiola said with what seemed to be a smirk on her monstrous face.
Lucy let out a sigh as her and everyone else were carried in Kiola's claw.
Once the dragon had landed and changed back into her more casual look, Lucy let out a warm sigh as she felt pure sunlight on her skin, feeling the grass beneath her feet for what was a first time in literal years.
Senshi looked overloaded by the sensations, having never actually touched grass in her life. Vinea was more indifferent, but his vision was soon taken up by something in the distance. He motioned for everyone to look, and as they turned, they saw a gigantic medieval kingdom out of a fantasy book.
Lucy let out a sigh as she held the keychain, looking over to the burnt wreckage that used to be Kiola's ship. Something that the usually prideful and boastful Kiola seemed genuinely hurt by loosing.
"Oh well. I'm sure I could have another one made for you, dear. Now, Parfait should be close, no?" Lucy sighed, beginning to trek towards the kingdom. Without any other options, and wanting to rest. The 3 began to follow behind their warden, with Kiola carrying Avis over her shoulder.
"Everyday, we get to have an opportunity for our second chance."
