"Avis!" A middle aged looking woman wearing small rounded sunglasses over her chipped beak yelled as she kicked down the door, playing a black electric guitar with a robotic heart attached to it. Everyone stood in silence as the woman played. Her overflowing mess of silver hair swaying side to side as it draped down to her waist, only held up together by old string.
She began performing a guitar solo, not even bothering to look her guests in the eye, only focusing on playing. The air felt electric, as it felt like the woman was in her own world. Once she finished up her song, she did a dramatic bow. "Thank you, thank you. You guys are awesome." She said with a smile, looking at a wall.
"Avis... We're over here." Vinea called out before the harpy turned around, leaning her guitar against the counter. With a casual smirk, she laid her arms down on the counter top of her little store. "Well, if it isn't the Queen's pet. Back again, I see... Kinda. Hey, Mix, is he with anyone?" She asked the doppel-Avis, Mix.
"Yeah. He's with a stitched up woman, a scarf that turned into a fox, a starved looking man, a man with dog ears and... Some creepy looking woman with slits on her mouth."
"Wait... Does she have blonde hair that covers her eyes?"
"Yeah."
As soon as Mix said that, Avis grabbed her guitar and played a few notes before Lucy was suddenly thrown through a wall by a powerful gust of wind. Vinea facepalmed, staring at her blankly. "Why did you do that?"
"Hey, it's her fault for getting us stranded here." She said with an accusatory point of her patched up robotic hand. "Did I just leave a hole in my wall?" She asked with aa nervous laugh, turning to the gigantic hole where Lucy was thrown from. "Yeah." Mix grumbled in a more neutral tone, shifting into a pale white figure with lighter silver hair.
Arlo and Min, who had been waiting outside, watched as Lucy was tossed through a wall, rolling along the ground like a ragdoll. "Hey, buddy." Min said in a teasing tone, walking around the side to look inside. "Woah. Who's the bird MILF?" He mumbled, looking her over. She still wore the same leather jacket, but had swapped out ripped jean shorts for regular jeans. A surprising change I know.
"The... Hell is a Bird MILF..?" Lucy groaned while getting off the floor in a slight daze, dusting herself off. "It's a MILF who happens to be of an avian variety."
"Then what's a MILF?" She asked, summoning a spiked jade chain as she began stepping towards the hole. Min was going to explain what he meant, but was more interested by Lucy as she was sent flying through the hole again.
"Yeah, I can already sense you're pretty weak right now. Weaker then me." Avis chuckled, walking out with a slight trip over the rubble. Nvr and Grey wanted to intervene, but they now wanted to watch Lucy get her ass beat by Avis.
"Hey, Viney,, you gonna stop this?" Mix asked Vinea with a slight scowl on their face. "I could... But I wanna see how strong our chicken strip is." He smirked, watching on as Lucy barely dodged a tangible blade of air that shot towards her.
"Come on. I've wanted a rematch for so long. I always used to think I'd lose... But I was just a street performer back then... I'm a Rockstar now, baby." She said before playing a guitar riff, shooting off bullets made of air. Lucy quickly created a dome with her ego, before retaliating with a ball of fire.
"I thought we moved past the whole arm thing, birdbrain?" She yelled while she threw the fireball. Avis took a second before playing a single chord, creating an air wave that put out the flames in an instant. "I mean... You RIPPED OFF MY FUCKING ARM. In what world do you think I wouldn't take that personally?" She said as she took off her arm, waving it about.
With an awkward silence filling the air, she put her arm back on and sighed. "You're not a complete bitch. But I still want to-" Avis was soon whipped around the face by a jade chain, knocking her glasses off when she fell to the ground.
Mix let out a gasp, looking pissed at Vinea. "Gods, are you really letting her fight in this state?"
"Yeah. She's stronger then you think... Even without her sight."
"Wait, what?" Lucy turned to him with a blank stare then looking down to Avis, seeing that the harpy had actually gone blind in the time she spent in the Fey realm. "Oh... Shit. I just hit a blind woman..."
"Nah. Ya just hit a Rockstar who's been training in Fey magic for the last fifteen years and Rockin' for all 44 of 'em." Avis laughed, putting her sunglasses back on before beginning to play again. Lucy leapt back, expecting more wind blasts, only to be knocked up into the air by a giant vine.
"Woah, copying my moves, chicken strip?" Vinea yelled out. Avis gave a light laugh, watching while Lucy flailed in the air. "You can't even beat me... This ain't even a fair fight." She sighed, playing a few notes that caused the air to harden around the former demon, taking her breath away as she fell to the earth below.
When Lucy hit the ground hard, Avis gave a bored look, nudging her with her guitar to check if she was still alive. She leaned in closer, just to make sure she was breathing. But that was Lucy's time to strike, using a desperate gambit move she learned from Kiola, she grabbed Avis by the hair and tried to pull her in for a kiss... Only to poke herself in the eye with the harpy's beak.
"MOTHERF-" Lucy screamed in pain before getting hit over the head with Avis's guitar, knocking her out. "This... Wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would be." She sighed, using the air around her to detect any movement. Nvr didn't really rush to Lucy's side, but still carried her inside to rest as Min casually leant against Avis.
"Ya know, one of my favourite food is drumsticks. And you look pretty tasty." He gave a flirtatious smirk that was quickly met with a punch to the nose from Avis, who went inside herself. Arlo sat next to his brother, watching as he writhed in pain. "Was that you flirting or trying to eat her?" Arlo joked.
"A... Mix of both." He responded, holding his now broken nose. Mix gave a sigh and helped the dog eared man carry his starved brother inside the cabin. Everyone soon gathered around a fireplace, watching silently as Avis began tuning her guitar.
"Why are you blind?" Nvr asked flatly, breaking the silence of the crackling fire. Avis rocked back and fourth in her chair before just kind of shrugging. "I met this fairy, he asked me if I give something a look, he took my sight, I ate him, didn't get my sight back. Not a long story."
"And then she met her most wonderful assistant?" Mix said, seeming to want Avis to at least acknowledge them. "Oh, and the changeling was more then helpful. I even get 'em to help run my little store."
Vinea let out a slight chuckle, staring at his best friend with a smirk. "She's also one of the best bards and magic users this side of the realm."
"Correction, Best bard." She smirked, starring in his direction. Despite her amazing control of air, she couldn't make out exactly who was who when it came to humanoids, only their rough size. Even then, it never really helped, since she didn't care enough to remember people anymore.
"So... Wanna help Lucy take down Titania with us?" He asked with an awkward smile. "Sure. I haven't got anything else to do." She replied flatly, still tuning her guitar. "Plus, if these guys could get in, that means we can get out."
"And me?" Mix chimed in. "And Mix." Avis added. Vinea gave an awkward laugh at the idea of leaving, but played it off by asking Avis to play a song, something he knew she couldn't refuse.
She stood up with a prideful look on her beak as she played a few opening notes. "This song is called; The wailing warden. 1, 2, 3, GO!"
