Giyugi was patiently waiting around on a floating platform next to her cannon, literally counting the seconds until she would be allowed to fire. It had already been about ten minutes and she wasn't getting a response from either Shaki or Grimm.
If that wasn't irritating enough, the moonlight was making the ocean look ever so tempting. It had been awhile since the alien had gone swimming in an ocean and what better opportunity than right now?
Then again, if the island in the distance was destroyed, she could do what she wanted. A warning shot wouldn't kill anyone, right? It would. But it was unlikely to hit her teammates? It was very likely.
She wrestled with herself for a few more minutes, but came to a conclusion. Blowing up half the island now would save her effort later. The guppy almost seemed proud of herself for coming up with that one and she began making the right calculations as to not kill everyone instantly.
With some small changes to the trajectory, accounting for the ever growing wind that had started to pick up, Giyugi pressed her light blue webbed hand against a small red button.
The machine whirred to life, crackling and pulsating with a glowing purple energy that lit up the sky like a beacon as it slowly turned to face a mere corner of the island before firing a terrifying gigantic beam of superheated death.
The citizens of Daydream watched in terror as the beam struck the island. There was a brief delay before the ground shook violently. It was like a volcano had erupted as everyone watched half of the island disappear in a blinding explosion.
Giyugi felt bliss at the destruction. It was her purpose after all. Her true calling in life.
Though Avis and Ami hadn't even realised what had happened since they were trapped in a bizarre circus tent that stretched on for what seemed like forever. The sisters where starting to get tired of all the walking, and it didn't help they had lost track of time and both were blind in a way. One more literal than the other.
"W-What if I-I die h-here!? I-I'm too y-y-young!" Ami cried, her hope dwindling despite the fact it had been about ten minutes of wandering. Avis was more preoccupied with trying to find a way out, not really having the time to comfort the insecure former lord.
Neither of the two had a good ability to cut the hardened fabric of the tent, so they were stuck inside with out many options. As the harpy continued ahead, almost walking into a popcorn stand, Ami was a bit confused about something.
"A-Are y-you playing that c-creepy c-clown music?"
"No..." The Harpy began hearing the music too and despite the fact they had dealt with an eldritch being who could literally turn people into cards, it still unsettled them. Ami was all but ready to run off and try her luck in a different direction, but she let out a sigh upon realising the future was set in stone.
"Y-You s-should duck in t-twenty s-seconds..."
Avis awkwardly bent down, avoiding a heavy juggling ball that whiz passed where her head just was. "Thanks." The harpy smiled, giving a thumbs up as she grabbed her sister for support. "A-Are y-you really t-that fragile in y-your old a-age?" Ami teased before getting a light tap around the head from her sister.
"I'm still young. Just older."
"T-That doesn't make any- H-Hang on... Yep. L-Let's j-just move a little bit." Ami slowly shuffled back with Avis, avoiding a few more multi coloured juggling balls that flew past after a minute. Ami already knew she what direction to go since she already saw it.
Leading the Harpy like a child, Ami did feel a bit smug about being able to see better than her sister now. Avis had always teased the oracle about having to wear contacts in her youth, so seeing the harpy have to rely on her a bit, was pretty great.
The duo eventually stumbled around into a circus stage with an audience made of shadows. Avis could already feel something was off, reaffirmed by Ami telling her to move five steps forward. A few seconds later, a stage light fell with a crash. The glass exploded like shrapnel, not exactly normal, even if it did fall from a great height.
"Y-Yeah... T-The thing t-that'll try a-and kill us is about to arrive..."
As if on cue, Ami guided her sister to the exact spot to stand and the two were suddenly thrown backwards, landing surprisingly softly onto two open seats in the audience. The two were meant to be watching the most dazzling, fantastical, and down right magical circus performance in the known stars...
But Ami had already seen it and Avis... If I have to remind you she's blind then you should be paying more attention to weird ramblings.
Scrap finished her performance by jumping to the ground and giving a grateful bow. Her clockwork gears were in a buzz, as that was just a warmup for the real show tonight. But even if she had to take out her opponents, she had to get a good review on her show.
"What did you two think? Dazzling, right?" She smiled, appearing behind the two in a puff of confetti. "I-I... I-It was a-alright... N-Not really impressive w-when you c-can s-see it all b-before it happens..." The young oracle shrugged. It wasn't like she was trying to be rude, but speaking was never her strong suit.
Avis on the other hand just nodded. "I guess it was alright. Not much to see." The harpy had grown to love her blind jokes, as awkwardly shoehorned in as they were.
Scrap's gears began to whir, the clockwork attraction's ego somewhat bruised. She had always dazzled and mystified her audience, but if these two didn't like it, then who really did? She disappeared in another puff of confetti and Ami calmly moved to the left.
A geyser of burning steel shot up just in front of her, yet it did nothing to really phase her. When you know every attack an opponent will throw, it doesn't mean your safe though. The burning steel solidified into a fountain that shot fourth bits of confetti like a cannon.
Ami seemed a bit stunned, already knowing the outcome of what the attack meant. But Avis was just a bit smarter than her sister, creating a dome of feathers around themselves. The confetti combusted into flames before exploding into a blinding flash that brought the audience stand in on itself.
Avis managed to hold her shield, protecting themselves from any serious damage. Though Ami let out a gasp and quickly snatched her sister's guitar. "Hey!"
The oracle swung the guitar behind, striking Scrap with a clumsy strike as the attraction was knocked back into the tent. "U-Uh... M-Music pun!!" Ami smirked. Avis was a bit impressed but more pissed about her guitar.
It was barely holding itself together, meaning she was barely able to use her ego. "So... What's the plan now?" She asked, glaring in the vague direction of her sister. Ami let out a nervous laugh before sighing.
She grabbed the Harpy by her robotic arm before glitching them to the stage as pile of bouncing balls appeared where they previously stood. Scrap appeared behind the two again, her cold copper face wearing mime makeup.
She began mouthing something, making the two jump. Ami had slight coulrophobia due to an incident involving Rat, Cheshire and her birthday.
Scrap began miming a gun with her copper coated fingers, firing a shot that physically singed Avis's hair. The harpy let out a squawk, playing a few notes on her broken guitar too fire some weak bullets back. Though Scrap mimed a wall, dropping the feathery shots to the ground.
Ami began to grow tired after only a few minutes of battling. She was constantly looking at every possible out come, and it was causing her body stress.
Avis had to rely on a move she hadn't used in a while. Ordering her sister to cover her ears, Avis took a deep breath before using her heart, unleashing a super sonic screech that would cause any human's ears to bleed.
But she was fighting a clockwork attraction.
Scrap cut off her hearing with a quick twitch before winding up her clockwork motor and sending herself into overdrive. At the pace her body was heating up, the mime makeup melted off her copper skin, leaving a creepy looking smile on her face.
As Avis tried to catch her breath once she touched the ground, Ami yelled for her to dodge, but it was too late. Scrap appeared in front of the harpy in the blink of an eye, and with a bit of confetti in her hand, she struck the harpy around the face with a dazzling attack.
Ami watched her sister's glasses smash against the ground, her one friend left defeated on the ground. Scrap looked at her opponents guitar, picking it up to examine the heart that wasn't that far off from her own.
"Curious. Such a pretty heart..." She mused before being tackled to the ground by a wildly glitching mass. Scrap looked at her assailant, only seeing a single glowing galaxy like eye surrounded by a hideous mass of glitching void energy.
"Don't touch HER!"
It screamed before violently banging her head against the floor with tentacles that sprouted from what would be its face. Scrap took the brunt of the damage, not exactly bothered by it since she didn't feel pain. Yet once she saw an opening, she threw a handful of exploding confetti, distracting the thing.
Ami let out a gargling sound that resembled annoyance. But she already knew the outcome. Scrap leapt up from high up on a trapeze stand, followed behind by her audience of shades, all ready to attack.
But the young oracle wasn't going to go down that easy. She unleashed a wave of glitching black ink towards the attackers. Scrap tried to disappear again, but there was no way for her to escape. As the liquid touched her skin, for the first time in her life, she felt cold.
It was cold. So cold.
Once the substance had cleared, Ami clumsily shifted back to her usual unusual self before getting hit on the head by what looked like a wind up toy robot. She turned to Avis, only to see that she had accidentally turned her sister into a playing card.
But laying next to the card was The Harpy's guitar, good as new.
Ami quickly grabbed the toy, card and guitar and ran underneath some wreckage, watching as the tent collapsed in on itself. She had predicted this outcome of course, but it wasn't like she could do anything more.
As the pale moonlight shined down, the oracle looked towards the Royal Fortune and with a sigh, began glitching her way towards it.
