In the far of distance of Daydream, The aquatic alien, Giyugi, was adjusting her calculations just ever so slightly more. It wasn't long before she would get to fire her cannon, and she was filled with a childlike joy as she counted down the final seconds remaining.
"In like five, four, three, two," As her webbed finger dangled over the button, the floating platform she stood on violently jerked side to side. With a startled yell, the guppy looked over the railing to see a circling shark fin beneath her.
She thought nothing of it, since she was used to aquatic annoyances all the time. With a calming breath through her mask, she slammed her hand on the button. The cannon began to pulse with a purple energy, charging up.
"Like, FIRE!"
Giyugi's translator made a slurry of noises that resembled a mad laughter as the cannon fired a gigantic shot... That was instantly reduced to nothing but a droplet in an approaching tsunami. The alien's excitement faded as she stared at the approaching wave.
"Like... F###."
The wave engulfed the cannon as Giyugi could only watch as her favourite toy was dragged below into the now misty sea. It was disheartening, angering and down right maddening. With a brief water filled breath from her mask, she peered over the side of her platform, screaming for what ever broke her weapon to come out.
"YOU BETTER LIKE, GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE!"
It was as if the ocean itself responded. At the guppy's words, a tentacle shot out towards her. Giyugi froze for a moment, yet with a giddy noise, her mind began flooding with strategies on how to handle this new threat.
Lucifer emerged from the sea, looming down to the aquatic alien with a cold, menacing stare. "Surrender now or face the wrath of the deep."
"Hmm... How 'bout you just like, die." Giyugi responded before hundreds of aquatic drones began appearing like a school of fish. With a the order to open fire, the drones unleashed a hailstorm of blue plasma bullets at the leviathan.
Yet the gigantic demon was barely even scratched, something she had accounted for. Lucifer raised two monolithic tentacles before bringing them down onto her floating platform, smashing a few drones in the process.
Giyugi braised herself for impact, commanding the drones to create a forcefield with a quick flick of her fingers.
"Try better then that, cutie." Giyugi yelled, undamaged from the attack.
Lucifer's eyes narrowed as she observed the forcefield shimmering around Giyugi and her drones. The leviathan's mind ran through countless strategies, but her mind was surprisingly only coming up in threes. Her massive form twisted and coiled, the ocean roiling around him as she prepared his next move.
Giyugi's heart pounded with exhilaration. The adrenaline rush from facing such a colossal opponent was intoxicating. Her webbed fingers danced across the controls of her platform, sending commands to her drones with lightning speed. The aquatic drones responded in perfect unison, adjusting their formation and readying their weapons for another barrage.
Lucifer raised one of her enormous tentacles again, but this time, instead of bringing it down with brute force, she waved it in a complex, hypnotic pattern. The water around her began to glow with an eerie blue light, and a low hum filled the air.
Giyugi let out a watery cackle as the drones unleashed high powered shots of electrical arc energy. One after another, they slowly pushed the demonic beast back below the sea. "This mask can't really translate expressions... But it would involve like, a big creature falling harder than a smaller one!"
As Giyugi gloated to herself, she began walking around her platform to think up a new way to destroy an island with her current repertoire. Even so, she made sure her drones continued to fire into the sea. Each shot crackled against the waves, even a few dead fish rose from the electrified currents.
Though Giyugi's resolve was soon tested as a gigantic glowing orange eye flew into the air, splatting against her platform. She didn't hesitate to order another drone strike, and as they gathered into frantic formation, a raging fire engulfed the eye.
"Can't I get a break?" Giyugi sighed as her few remaining drones shielded her from the flames.
The fire raged across the platform, consuming the drones like a starved animal. The guppy wasn't exactly worried about the flames, but more the fact that the eye itself was beginning to glow.
Suddenly the eye began to wiggle.
Then it began to crack like an egg.
"Shit." The alien's mask translated. In an instant, she was sent flying over the railing of the platform with a fiery punch. As she fell, out of the corner of her eye she saw the vague visage of a fox eared demon looking over the platform with a grin.
As she prepared herself to embrace the cold comfort of the sea, she was knocked up into the air by a tentacle. Confusion began to fill her mind. With the distance that was needed to get to her location, the leviathan was the only one who could make it to her.
Yet there were two opponents now. At first she thought the leviathan had shifted forms, but that wasn't right.
And as she looked continued being battered by the tentacles, she finally clocked onto what was happening once she got a good look at her now burning platform.
With a cane made of chains in hand and a cocky smirk on his face, a demon forged from a contract and eye was born. Giyugi couldn't help but laugh as she realised who it was. With a final strike from the tentacles, her mask broke in half.
Staring into the moonlight, Giyugi knew what was going to happen next and it was pretty funny to be her. To be killed by the demonic reincarnation of her boss. It was way to funny to her.
"☹︎✋︎😐︎☜︎📪︎ ❄︎☟︎✋︎💧︎ ☞︎🕆︎👍︎😐︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ 💧︎🕆︎👍︎😐︎💧︎ ☹︎⚐︎☹︎✏︎"
The newly born demon tapped his cane against the ground and, in an instant, a fiery pillar shot down from the sky. Giygui's laughter could be heard echoing between the waves of the sea as she was burnt to a crisp.
Her broken body hit the sea, barely making a splash. As Lucy watched Giygui's body slowly drift by her titanic form, she couldn't help but admire the tenacity of the creature and maybe it was her constant crying or perhaps the swimming, but she did feel quite hungry.
Giyugi did smell rather great, so that helped the demonic leviathan come to a decision. The barely alive guppy could only watch as the leviathan opened its maw and in a single bite, she was gone.
"She could have used some salt..."
The demon mused to herself as she swam above, looming over the burning platform with her now six eyes trained on the second spawn of her eyes.
The well dressed demon gave a dramatic bow, twirling his cane with a smile. "Well howdy, good day and a how do you do to you. Mind telling me why I'm alive?" He asked with a dramatic flip of his top hat, the flames on the platform vanishing in an instant.
"You're so... Sentient for just being born. Could you try being more simple minded for awhile?" She joked, leaning down slightly to get a better look at her new form. "Yes... Great... Whatever. Look, I have places to be, employees to find and an ex to stop. So, good day, evening and night."
With a wave of his hand and tap of his cane, the demon seemed prepared to suddenly disappear... Yet still he remained on the floating platform in the sea. "Well... That's disappointing." He snickered, though a clear bit of disappointment in his tone.
"Oh... I appear to have screwed the hellhound on this one." Lucy slapped her head with a tentacle in slight disbelief in her own mistake. She had accidentally created a new demon.
"Oh, and do tell how so?"
With only one way to truly check if she had truly screwed up, Lucifer asked the first question her mother had ever asked;
"What's your name?"
"It's ##### ########... Well that is bizarre, weird and downright unreal. Why can't I say my name?"
The leviathan let out a monotone groan before pulling out a golden eye and tapping it, showing it was made of glass. "You are a demon. In short, I was only supposed to create a barely sapient copy of myself... But it seems your contract got tangled up and now your soul inhabits... Hmm, I was going to call him Belz. So that shall be your name."
"That still explains veeeery little." Belz groaned, lifting his long black hair to reveal a single glowing orange eye.
"Look, all will be explained in due time... Until then, can you remain silent for but a moment?"
"For wha-" Before Belz even realised what was happening, Lucy threw him across the sea with a bit of renewed sense of pride. It seemed Verum created a new truth again, allowing Lucy to at least use her power again.
Yet it would only be when she returned to the shores of Daydream that Lucy would see two familiar figure staring out to the sea on the boardwalk.
