Overtime Shift

"Again, try not to bring up the fact you killed me." Belz said with a small smirk as he escorted Verum up the winding staircase towards his room at the resort. "Yeah, yeah. I get it, I'm the back up everyone wishes they had."

"That isn't even close to what I'm saying to you." He sighed, opening the door for her where the two were greeted by Jaina, who had cleaned up a bit in their absence. "The statue is just over here." The receptionist said with a delightful smile, motioning to the looming gold statue of one's own beauty.

"Just say hello, heya and a quick how do ya do before asking about... Getting us off this rock." He explained quickly, though Verum just waved her hand dismissively. "I get it, I get it. This is a conversation between gods, how bad could it go?" She laughed before doing a dramatic cartwheel over to the foot of the statue and loudly yelling;

"Yo, you gonna answer me?"

And yet, as much as I would refuse to answer to such a disrespectful greeting, I suppose I have to answer. What is it?

"Oh shit, she actually answered." The rodent said with two thumbs up before turning back to the statue with a cocky grin that could infuriate me more then you could ever know.

"So, can you uh... Open a portal or somethin' for everyone to leave?"

But why would I do that. I had no reason to answer, especially after my mortal sent them there or the fact he sold his soul to a lesser deity. The rodent continued her childish requests, that did little other than serve as nothing but noise.

Verum turned back to my Demonic mortal with a rather blank stare. "She's mocking me. What do I do?"

"Just... Tell her I'll get her a present." Belz said with an exaggerated grin as he leant against his cane. Admittedly, I would normally not be enticed by such easy tributes... Rodent, ask what he plans to get me.

Verum awkwardly shuffled back, whispering something to my mortal. surely they were plotting some devious scheme... Or were planning on getting me a new mini fridge. Is it a mini fridge?

"Is... Is she really that easy to buy off?" Verum asked with a light snicker. Both Belz and Jaina nodded before turning back to me. Amazing. The audacity to say such things to the one who could snuff them out with a flick of their wrist... Oh, who cares.

Just get me a mini fridge and I shall at least here you out.

"Alright then. Your boytoy promised me that you could get me a girl from another world, do you think you could do that?"

I wouldn't sell someone's life over such a trivial thing as a mini fridge... I also want a four pack of Pepsi.

"Done." Verum agreed. And so, I listened to the rodent babble on about the trivial matter of bringing back the other employees. I suppose I could do that now actually.

Belz wandered over to the window as most of the employees suddenly fell into holes that appeared under their feet, dragging them back to the office with little hassle. Yet their were still a few who were left behind.

"Ask her why some of us are left." He said as he looked over to Verum. But there was no need to ask, Rodent. Tell him that their are a few left because... They're working overtime.

"She says they're workin' overtime." The rodent said with a shrug as she turned to the two. She was a bit surprised at how horrified they looked, and asked flatly; "What? That's not too bad, right?"

"TELL HER THAT SHE'S A NO GOOD, ROTTTEN, GODS DAMNED COW IF SHE THINKS WE'RE WORKING OVERTIME!" Belz yelled, the sound of chains clanking together could be heard as flames surrounded him.

But he knew it was utterly pointless to argue with me. I shall leave your overtime assignment and bid you goodbye.

The three watched as the statue suddenly crumbled to pieces, only a hastily written note left on top of the rubble.

"I'd say we did pretty good." Verum shrugged, swiftly taking the note before making her way towards the ship.

"We have to... Find the 'Devoted' Verum made and eliminate them, Find Penumbra at the bottom of the sea and recover the anomalous Robotic hearts?" Lucy repeated the same thing written on the note. "And we have one week before, I assume, my Boreddess erases this world." Belz sighed, sitting on the sand beside Lucy.

"But all that seems trivial compared to the final task... We have to find Parfait in 'Nirvana'. Do you have any clue on what that is?" The demon sighed, staring out to the sea as she clutched the note tighter, lightly creasing it in her grip.

"Well, well, well... How good of a swimmer are you?" He smirked. "Yes, haha. But seriously. We will barely have enough time to do all the things on this list in such a small matter of time. Even with a certain thing mounted to my ship..."

"Then split your team up." He suggested, motioning to the odd balls and creeps around them.

With a light sigh, Lucy lifted her bangs to stare at Belz with all seven of her eyes back in place. "I suppose I have an idea of what we could do."

Lucy motioned for Belz to follow, and soon enough Lucy had led him into the medical wing of the ship where she looked over Mammy. "I've had an idea buzzing in my brain for awhile now... And I think now would be the perfect time to implement it." She grinned before pulling out a contract.

"Why, why, why do you need a contract now?" He questioned, following the demon into the hallway as she slammed the piece of ethereal paper against the wall where Ave and Eva had died. "I hope you don't mind, but I'll be borrowing a few souls of the dead."

"Did you have to do it in such a ridiculous manner?" He said as Lucy slowly peeled the contract back, revealing two signatures now applied to the paper. She soon strolled back to Mammy's bedside and began chanting something under her breath.

A blinding crimson light filled the room as Mammy's body suddenly shot up from her bed, stretching and groaning like she had woken up from a long nap.

"What h-h-happened?" She asked with an electronic buzz behind her voice, yet Lucy hadn't finished yet. Using Nvr's new ability and the twin's camera, she began operating on creating a new pet perfect for tracking down the Devoted.

Arachne, who had been watching from the ceiling, slowly lowered herself down with a piece of webbing. "What are you doing?"

"Creating a new host." The Warden smirked.

Mammy slowly stood up, facing Arachne with a creepy yet calming grin as she stared at the Spider idol with her new second camera lens eye.

"W-Why would you do that? It just looks... Creepy." The spider grumbled, watching as the host slowly readjusted their new, flashy bright blue and pink suit before shaking their head in disappointment at the sight of their own reflection.

"Th-th-This simply won't do." They said with an electronic buzz behind their breath. before the light in the room dimmed.

Dramatically, a spotlight hung above her head as she did an overdramatic bow. "My twin Bosses, you are in the presence of the new, electronically charged two in one package. Brought to you by Virtu-Tek Entertainment, we are Technetronic Vincula, The New Host of this little show!"

"T.V.... Her initials are TV." Arachne laughed before getting zapped like... Again, the joke is obvious.

Lucy quickly pulled Tech over as she began to cuddle the bizarrely eccentric new Mammy. "Aww, who's a good little pet. You are."

The two were stuck watching Lucy treat her new creation like a pet. Arachne couldn't help but draw parallels to Cheshire, The Demon's favourite Domain Leader. It was bizarre seeing how fond she was over the bat themed hostess.

Belz felt like questioning how Lucy even did any of this, yet the only answer he got was;

"I create suffering. Why not make something that brings joy instead?"

"You're weird, bizarre and down right strange, Miss. I like it." Belz smirked.

After a bit of time, Lucy had gathered everyone to the main deck to explain her plan.

Lucy and Ami where going to search for Penumbra at the bottom of the sea while the rest would use Technetronic to find the 'Devoted' and recover the sub-minds at the same time. With that, The two teams were off as Lucy dove to the bottom of the sea in her leviathan form with Ami inside a bubble of air created with a nifty bit of ego magic.

Yet, on the complete other side of the country, a certain violet and rose red haired jackelope stumbled about the lush forest just outside the kingdom of Siren's Tears, where her eyes laid upon a familiar young purple haired rabbit Demi-human held in the hand of a giant woman with a lance on her back.

The Jackelope kept to bushes, using her long ears to try and listen in to the two's conversation.

"S-So, g-getting married this week. E-Excited?" The giant red haired woman asked as she held up the alternate version of Ven closer to her face. The rabbit gave a playful wink as he leant against one of her fingers. "Yeah! Who knew the girl of my dreams was a princess?"

"W-Well... Y-Y'know I'm a princess too, right?"

"Giants don't count, Tika. Plus, we're like best friends? How many times have I saved your life in the past year alone?" Ven said with an excitable laughter as he jumped through a few portals before landing on the alternate version of Tika's head.

"T-Too many to count..." The gigantic woman quietly laughed as they continued walking around the perimeter wall of the city, looking for any sign of trouble as heroes do.

The jackelope hidden in the bushes let out a melancholic sigh. She had been watching the two since she had arrived in this world a few years back. Never making her presence known to them, yet their was a distant longing to get to know the young heroes.

"Vex... Are you gonna watch them all day or what?" A rough bandit whispered as he poked her lightly in the back with a stick. The startled Jackelope nearly tumbled out of the bush she was hiding in before laughing, turning back to the bandit with a smirk. "Really, Wesker? Do you just HAVE to sneak up on a girl like that?"

"Spending every day of your life staring ain't gonna help, Chief. Come on, the guys are waitin'." The bandit smiled, casually walking off. Vex took one more look back before sighing, following behind Wesker.

"I'll prove myself to them..."
