"Wtf, it literally analyzed my abilities in seconds," Crudele thought to himself.
Crudele looked at the holographic display in awe. "Thank you so much, Mom and Dad," he said, his voice full of emotion.
The system was Crudele's lifelong wish, something his parents had always wanted to provide for him. However, the high cost of the system had made it difficult for them to fulfill that desire.
"Brother, I'm going to miss you," little Mia said with a cute, pouty face that could melt anyone's heart.
"Aww, no need to be sad," Crudele reassured her with a warm smile. "I'll come home every month, so we'll see each other often. It won't be that long before we're together again."
"Crudele, be safe out there," his father said, his voice filled with concern. "If you ever feel lonely or need anything, you can always call us. We're just a phone call away."
"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind," Crudele replied, nodding appreciatively. "Thanks for everything. I'll make sure to stay in touch and let you know if I need anything."
"The train is coming fast," Alessia said, glancing at the approaching train. "We should wrap up the sweet talks and get ready to board." Her tone was practical, but there was a hint of warmth in her voice as she looked at Crudele and the family.
"And oh, we didn't forget about you, my daughter," Julius added, turning to Alessia with a smile. "Stay safe and best of luck with your exams. We're all rooting for you."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Alessia replied, a hint of nonchalance in her voice.
Crudele and Alessia boarded the train, finding their seats as the doors slid closed. Crudele waved his hand from the window, giving one last smile and gesture to his family as the train began to pull away. His parents and little Mia watched from the platform, waving back until the train was out of sight.
The train resembled a modern metro rather than a traditional train, with sleek, streamlined design and seats arranged on both sides. The interior was well-lit.
The train was designed for speed, capable of traveling from their hometown to Aether City in just three hours.
However, instead of returning home each time, Crudele and Alessia opted to stay at the school dorm to avoid the inefficiency and time wasted on the round trip. Alessia, though, made it a point to visit every two months to stay connected with family.
Crudele looked at himself in the mirror, taking in his appearance. He was dressed in a sharp white uniform with red accents, the colors complementing each other perfectly. His white hair, usually neatly styled, had a few strands falling over his eyes, giving him a slightly messy yet effortlessly cool look. Overall, he looked fantastic.
"Damn, with this look, I'll probably attract a lot of girls at school," Crudele thought to himself with a smirk.
The train was relatively empty, allowing Crudele and Alessia to choose their seats without any hassle. They found a comfortable spot and sat together, settling in for the journey ahead.
While Alessia closed her eyes and put on her earbuds to listen to music, Crudele turned to look out the window, captivated by the passing scenery. He watched with the wide-eyed wonder of a child seeing the world for the first time.
Crudele didn't travel much outside his hometown; they only left when they went on vacation. The ever-changing landscape outside the train was a relatively new and exciting experience for him.
Little by little, the train started to become crowded. More passengers boarded at each stop, filling the once-empty seats. Crudele continued to gaze out the window, trying to absorb as much of the outside world as he could. Meanwhile, Alessia remained in her own world, listening to music with her eyes closed.
Then, at the next stop, a young woman boarded the train, helping an elderly lady who seemed to be her grandmother. The young woman carefully guided the old lady onto the train.
The young woman started looking for seats, but they were all taken. She looked around, hoping to find a spot for her and her grandmother, but the crowded train made it difficult. Crudele saw their problem and felt sorry for them.
The young woman then approached a blonde boy wearing the same uniform as Crudele. She politely asked him, "Could you please let my grandmother have a seat?"
"What would I get by giving up my seat?" he replied arrogantly, looking at her with a smug expression.
The woman was left speechless by his response; she hadn't expected such an answer. His arrogant attitude confirmed to her the kind of person the blonde boy was.
Everyone around the boy began to look at him with disgust. He noticed their reactions and added, "What are you maggots looking at? You didn't give up your seat for her, so why should I?" Despite his arrogant tone, his reasoning had a point, as no one else had offered their seat either.
His words made a scene on the train, and everyone started talking about it. Crudele also heard the whole thing and felt uncomfortable with how the boy was acting.
Crudele got up from his seat and walked over to them. "Here, your grandmother can sit in my seat," he said. Then, looking around at the other passengers, he added,"You should know, hell must be empty today because all the devils are here on earth."
"Of course, after all this fuss, someone has to play the hero," the blonde boy said, looking at Crudele with a smirk.
Crudele clenched his fist, ready to strike the blonde boy's face, but suddenly a hand rested on his shoulder. He turned around to see who it was and, to his surprise, it was his sister. She shook her head, silently telling him not to fight.
She then told the young woman to take their seats where they had been sitting. The young woman and her grandmother gratefully agreed, and Crudele and Alessia stood in the train, holding onto the handles above.
Crudele was still annoyed by the blonde boy's presence and glared at him from afar. The blonde boy, however, remained unfazed by Crudele's glares, acting as if nothing had happened.
"Judging by the stripes on his uniform, he's also a first-year like me," Crudele muttered to himself.
The high school he was about to attend in Aether City was Kamado University, one of the top three schools in the city. The school had a unique system where the stripes on the students' shoulders indicated their year. For example, Crudele's uniform had one stripe, marking him as a first-year, while Alessia's uniform had three stripes, indicating she was a third-year student.
"I guess I found my first victim," Crudele muttered under his breath.
There were still about 15 minutes left before the train would arrive at the station. From there, they would have to walk another 10 minutes to reach the school.
In the meantime, Crudele asked Alessia, "Hey sis, is everyone at school like him?"
She replied, "No, not always. He's a rare breed."
"If I remember correctly, you're in the medical field, right?" he asked.
"Yes, you have to remember that," she replied coldly.
"Ah, can you please explain the system to me?" he asked her.
She let out a sigh and said, "If you want to join the hero program like me, you first need to choose which divisions you want to join. There are four types: Combatant, Long Rangers, Support, and Healer. You can select any two divisions. After that, you'll take a test to see which category suits you best. Finally, the school authorities will make the final decision based on your abilities and skills."
"How much chance is there that I'd get the category I want?" he asked.
"If you know which category suits you best, then it's 100%," she responded. "But you're asking the wrong question. You should be asking how likely you are to pass the test. I've heard that the Combatant test is the hardest of the four, with a success rate of just 34% last year. Honestly, it depends on your skills and how well you perform."
"34%, huh? That's almost one in three," Crudele said with a determined smile. "I think I can handle it."
Suddenly, a screen popped up in Crudele's vision.

"Oh heck yeah, this is the kind of stuff I've been rooting for!" he said with excitement as the system prompt appeared in his vision.
Alessia, puzzled by his sudden excitement, asked, "What's happening?"
Then she remembered the system that their mom had given him and realized it must be related.
"You won't understand," he said, still focused on the system.
Suddenly, the train doors opened, and Alessia got out, followed by Crudele as they prepared to continue their journey.
"Alessia~"
A familiar voice called from behind. Suddenly, a person grabbed Alessia tightly from behind. Crudele immediately got alert, his instincts kicking in, ready to protect his sister. But Alessia didn't react with alarm; she remained calm and unfazed, as if this was a common occurrence.
"Calm down, young man. I'm not doing any harm to your girlfriend," said the voice. It came from a girl who was wearing the same uniform and was the same height as Alessia.
"And Alessia, you never told me you like em young, huh?" she added with a teasing, seductive smile.
"Stop it, Ellie. He's my brother," Alessia said with a slightly frustrated look.
"Huh, your brother is also attending the same school?" Ellie said with a confused look. Suddenly, her expression changed to a devious smile. "Ara~ Ara~ I think our Alessia can't live without her brother. You're such a brocon; you never told me."
Now the conversation was getting on her nerves. "Ellie, this is not funny anymore. You should stop," Alessia said firmly.
"Aww, you're no fun as always," Ellie pouted before turning to Crudele. "But what about you, little man? How's your day going?" she asked with a playful grin.
"I think we should head to school," Alessia said. "There's only half an hour left before it closes."
They left the station and walked to the school. As Crudele looked around, he was amazed by the city. He saw cars floating in the air, strange-shaped buildings, and streets with automated systems. Everything felt futuristic and exciting.
While he was looking at the scenery, a big aircraft flew above them. Crudele quickly took out his phone and snapped as many pictures as he could to remember the moment.
"I think you're new to the city," Ellie said. "Oh, and we didn't even exchange names. I'm Ellie, your sister's best friend."
Alessia added, "Not best, just a friend."
"You don't have to be so cold about it, Alessia," Ellie replied with a cute smile.
"My name is Crudele, Crudele Valerius. Nice to meet you," he said with a smile.
Ellie is a beautiful girl with a slender figure and dirty blonde hair. Her eyes are a striking pink, and she wears red lipstick. Her clothing style is inspired by gyaru fashion, which is trendy and bold.
"Oh, we're here," Ellie said, pointing at an area.
"Is this the school?" Crudele asked in amazement. "It looks like a whole town by itself, it's so massive!"
The school is truly massive, with numerous buildings. It has everything a student might need, including a gaming zone to help relieve stress and a dormitory for students who travel long distances.
"So, this is my new life,"
