A new week had started and Lu Fan was busy typing away. He was already done with his first novel and had already sent it to Li Lin for publishing.
It couldn't be helped.
Ever since his writing tag had changed to a white [Writer] talent, he felt as if the story was writing itself. Just sitting in front of a computer made him get into the zone and he could dish out 20,000 words per hour.
And that was not even his fastest speed. His [Typing +76] tag was gaining attributes like crazy and each time he got faster and faster. If he did not pay attention to what he was writing, it would be upwards of 30,000.
He had already sent more than 100,000-word chapters and Li Lin had already prepared to send over the contract for the book. He was already making tons of cash for the publishing company but they had only given him 7600 yuan, and here they were trying to get him to sign an exclusive contract that even he could see had tons of problems. Lu Fan refused immediately.
The book had become so popular that every chapter publication would sell hundreds of thousands of copies. They should be happy that he did not have any unreasonable demands, but here they were trying to get him to sign over his book! Did they think he was stupid or were they stupid? They just might be.
He had already started on the Domineering CEO genre and this time he was going to make things more dramatic. He had grown more confident and he wanted to write something that could make a good drama adaptation.
The first book could indeed make a good softcore film, but that was it. It was bound to become less and less popular in the future. The new book instead was a masterpiece.
He had seen what worked well and he was going to combine all of that to create the second novel.
He had already settled most of the things and had formed a routine of sorts. Wake up early, write for an hour, then get ready for school, after school, he would just go help out at the hotpot joint till closing hours.
He had also managed to hit the correct proficiency to activate the [Accounting +35] and it made his work easier. He no longer had to use excess tables and ledgers and he could do most of the accounting on the top of his head.
This feat amazed Chen Lu and the rest but it was nothing much.
The thing that was important however were the changes that Chen Lu had decided to implement. The first thing that changed was the prizes and the number of soup bases on offer.
There was a lot of grumbling when the customers came to know of the changes but what could they do? Lu Fan was very headstrong about this even when Chen Lu almost gave in to the pressure.
The regulars were also in support of these new changes. All they needed to do was make a call to reserve any custom soup base. That was not so hard, was it?
The bases Chen Lu made were getting better every day and Lu Fan had already upgraded her cooking to a white talent.
It also made him confirm that the process was a little different. While he received Memories, Experiences, Potential, and even mutations from tags, others only received Potential and an uncanny intuition toward a skill.
Like his mother just got cooking. With Lu Fan explaining things by the side, she was catching up to him at lightning speed.
Heck, just watching some YouTube videos made her proficient in making hotpots from different places of the world. The menu had gotten more diverse.
As for the boxed lunches, she did something that Lu Fan had never expected.
Lu Fan only wanted to maximize this market opportunity and benefit himself, but who would have thought that Chen Lu looked at things differently? She went around the community and gathered other restaurant owners and made it a community initiative to create jobs for women.
Lu Fan did not know whether to laugh or cry. He was eying that money but now he had to account for every penny that came out of it.
The only thing that he could do now was make sure that the start-up did not collapse because of problems like management or politics.
He created a system that made Chen Lu the absolute authority and even drafted contracts with the help of a law firm for everyone who joined so that they could not pressure Chen Lu in any way.
It was a good thing that he was quick or things might get difficult in the future.
Chen Lu might have involved the community out of goodwill and created jobs for women, but her approach was much like doing charity or something like that. It was ok if everyone involved thought the same, but it was highly unlikely. Money was involved after all.
The only thing that he could say they got was that Chen Lu had become more popular and they did not have to worry about labor and other stuff.
Chen Lu was only responsible for providing the venue and the start-up capital for 40% shares. Lu Fan had fought hard for that 40% and the 60% was given to other restaurants all over the town.
This was not a joking matter. After the Food Safety Law is passed, the business was going to be a hit and he could see a myriad of problems cropping up. He had to look for ways to deal with them.
Something like transportation.
It was okay now since they had yet to get large and co-operate orders, but once they did, they had to start doing things more professionally.
At that time, how was Chen Lu supposed to handle all those complicated matters? Lu Fan had to start making preparations for this.
But before that, he needed to get himself to school.
