"Am I….dead?
James spoke to the gods.
The sun gleamed around them, shimmering in the grand palaces around them. In the blink of an eye, The clouds around them merged into a gleaming temple, food spoiled out of the bowls of grapes around them. 7 suns gleamed at them from across the sky, lighting everything. Around them, the clouds changed and merged into giant marble walls and paintings of gods and humans.
James looked at everything in awe, the world changing above him. He felt no emotions, watching this. All that he dedicated his life to, to serve the gods, was real.
"No"
"Then am i alive?" James asked.
"No"
The voices of both of the gods merged into one, single unilatiary voice. Into his head. He curled up into a ball, grabbing his head for help. Inside of his head, the voices resonated louder and louder.
"This is not your doom or your fate" The gods stood up from the table and gabbed his head.
"NOO. STOP!" James grabbed their hands, trying to rip them off. But as he grabbed their hands, he felt them. Their hands have been merged into his brain. The pain became unbearable, shaking his head to get rid of them. His body froze in place, digging his fingers into the table.
The two gods' bodies began to fade away and disappear.
"Your destiny will be explained," the voice said in unity, as they both disappeared into dust.
The gods disappeared, and The pain faded away from his head. His eyes opened up to something new. He got up from the table, running deeper into the temple. As he ran deeper into the darkness. He passed statues of the gods, holding the sun and moon. One above the other, and slowly as he got forward. The sun and moon started to get closer, and closer. Each statue depicts them closer.
Until they both collide with each other. After the statue depicting their collision was seen, he ran infront of the next one, but immediately stopped. He stopped infront of the statue, but as he watched and watched the statue crumbled down into rubble.
"What you just saw, was your fate" The voice in his head spoke to him. James' eyes turned red, looking around for people.
"WHO ARE YOU!" He screamed out into the darkness around him
"Your destiny" A voice spoke infront of him.
James looked back to the statue. But infront of him the statue had been rebuilt. But instead, there is The moon with rays of the sun stretching far out around it. And in the center was the head of a ram. The ram had seven eyes on his head yet without a mouth. The yes looked around independently of each other, staring infront of James.
"It has been a thousand years since your death, the world was overrun with monsters and demons terrorizing this land"
James looked back in shock at the ram's head. Its eyes peering into his soul.
"Yet humanity prevailed and has Changed the land you once knew, into an automated empire. Evil has spread to this world infecting it with death and hatred to itself. So you must be its death bringer, and conclude human history at once"
"N..no" James responded
"Your destiny has been decided" As the Rams head said those words James' felt his brain. He felt as if his brain grew and duplicated, making space for more And more.
In a mere second humanity's history spread into his mind. More than a thousand years worth of humanity's. He saw that humanity grew from a small group of people to billions. He saw his death, his son's birth, and His friends and families. He saw families grieve and cry. And how humanity grew bigger and bigger. But in the end, he saw a figure surrounded by armor and blood and flesh ripping out of him. Holding his hands together. One on top of the other. And infront of him, Tonatiuh.
The ultimate utopia of perfection. Where the rich live off of its architecture and by the gift of Lord Khaum. Yet behind the figure, grabbing him was Janet. And holding her talisman around his neck. Gripping her arms around it. Around them, The bodies of his friends lying around, scattered.
Guts, hanging out.
Eyes popped out.
Torso's severed.
And blood everywhere.
Swords came out of the back of the figure, piercing Janet.
In the sky the sun and moon collided together, stopping before each other. The sky, blood red rained above all of them. The sea turned red, and waves rose high into the sky, pouring down into the masses. Crowds of people have their skin ripped off by demons and devils. People fell into the ground as cracks split into the core. The world had been brought to its knees.
As he saw this in his brain a realization came to his mind. Tears came down his eyes as he saw this. He kneeled. As he realized. He was the one in armor, the one who had murdered the world. The one who had his soul consumed by the gods. He was their puppet, and the world was their stage.
His free will had flown away and disappeared, his destiny was true. The gods owned his soul and he will truly be the bringer of death.
He knows how the story ends, but he doesn't know what happens next.
"We….See….The….Future…" The voices resonated in his head.
"It….Is useless." he thought to himself.
He closed his eyes. And the world went silent. "Everything had cut off from him. As he opened them.
He was back with humanity.
He opened his eyes to a jail cell. He felt a cold key in his hand, and as he looked down on it he saw a key. Where his whole squad was there again. Janet, Montoya, Ricky, Marty, Mary, Beau. All together, sitting in the cell. Everyone stayed with their eyes closed as if they were sleeping. Vegetation had overtaken the fortress. Parts of trees and plants split the cells apart. As he looked across the cell to the outside he could see all the other cells, filled with their soldiers. The garrison had been revived. Soldiers got up from their slumber, making noise and helping each other up. Looking to see what had happened.
"It..was…all…real" The voice resonated in his head.
He knew it was all real. He was the one to set the world ablaze.
