Narrow-Minded

After school the following day, Grace decided to check on Wendy's mother in the hospital.

Since the operation, she had only gone there twice, so after they got home and Charles was taking his nap, she went to obtain permission from Rose, who not only agreed but volunteered to watch over Charles while she was away.

She even went as far as asking the driver to drop her at the hospital since it would take a long walk for her to get to where she could hail a cab to the hospital.

Grace was speechless at the way the woman treated her and she couldn't help but remember what Mrs Bert had told her in the morning.

She thanked her profusely and hurried over to meet the driver.

It was true that it would be difficult for her to get a cab since all the homeowners living in Presidio Heights wouldn't need a cab.

About twenty-five minutes later, the characteristic smell of antiseptic greeted her as soon as she entered the hospital building.
