Grace straightened up, looking momentarily torn. She glanced at the clock and realized how much time had passed. "Oh, I didn't realize it was this late."
Fredrick chuckled, stepping back. "That's what happens when you're in the zone. Don't worry, Grace. Go on. We'll pick up where we left off soon."
"Thank you," Grace said sincerely, still basking in the afterglow of her productive evening.
Her eyes softened further as she turned to Jace who seemed rather preoccupied, "And thank you too—for all of this."
Jace gave her a small smile, one that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Anything for you, babe."
Grace blushed and risked a peek at Fred from underneath her full lashes only to see a natural smile adorning his lips as if there was nothing wrong with Jace addressing her that way.
She wondered how close they were and if Jace had told him about the current situation with Marianna's return.
