"I don't care what you claim. I don't want you anywhere near my house from now onwards. So go back, pack your things and get out of my house. If you're not gone by the time I get back, I'll make sure you regret every moment you spend in this city."
Marianna's eyes went wide. "I'm not going anywhere!" she spat, clinging to the last shreds of her defiance. "You can't throw me out of my matrimonial home and my own son's life!"
Without bothering to waste any more time with her, Jace merely turned to Dr. Brooks. "I believe you still have her blood samples. Send me the test results as soon as you have them."
Dr. Brooks inclined his head, casting a wary glance at Marianna. "Understood, Mr. Brandon."
Without another glance at Marianna, Jace turned on his heel and strode toward the door.
Seeing this, Marianna's breathing came in ragged gasps. "Jace—" she called out but the response she got was the cold slamming of the door as Jace disappeared from sight.
