Easing Your Burden, Sweetheart

Sir Washington turned to him with an unreadable expression. "To plant the seed, no doubt," he said simply. "What happens next is no longer in my hands."

Jace's jaw tightened. He didn't like the sound of that. Everything about this conversation felt like it was pushing Grace toward something unknown that might even take her away from him. And that was the one thing he could not allow.

"But you aren't sure yet if Grace is the person you think she is," he shot back. How dare he leave so happily as if he had accomplished his purpose on earth while leaving him in unknown turmoil. 

Sir Washington smirked as if it was so irrelevant to say that. "That's not a problem, son. You will get to know that soon." His tone was filled with an unnerving confidence that got both Jace and Grace in deep thoughts.
