DINNER WITH THE KINGS AND LORDS OF THE COURT

I couldn't believe my eyes! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Anya was King Aspen's betrothed? Princess of the blood court? My brain struggled to comprehend this new information. Do Corion and Reagan know about this? What am I even saying? Of course, they know that and you would think they will share such important information with me but nope, they hid it and allowed me to make a fool of myself instead.

As I stared at Anya who stood tall and regal in her stunning red off-the-shoulder ball gown, the rich fabric draping elegantly around her figure. The intricate white embroidery that adorned the bodice seemed to shimmer in the light, accentuating her curves and adding a touch of sophistication to the ensemble.

Her white hair, styled in an elaborate up do, was held in place with various pins, creating a sense of grandeur that made onlookers marvel at the intricate design. Despite the weight of the pins, Anya carried herself with grace and poise, exuding an air of confidence and elegance.

Around her neck, a dazzling diamond necklace sparkled, catching the light and adding a touch of luxury to her ensemble. Her white gloves added a touch of refinement, completing the look of a true aristocrat.

Her makeup was flawlessly applied, enhancing her features and highlighting her natural beauty. The soft hues of her eye shadow and lipstick complemented her complexion, giving her a radiant and youthful glow. Her warm and genuine smile lit up her face, transforming her usual air of mystery into one of warmth and kindness.

Despite her usual demeanor of an evil smirk, at that moment, she looked every bit the loving princess, radiating a sense of joy and happiness that was infectious to all who beheld her. The transformation was striking, showcasing a different side of her character that I had never seen before.

Anya's blue gaze suddenly met one and I was quick to avert my gaze and look down, just as I should have been doing before. I held my breath as King Aspen and Anya began to descend down the stairs. When she got to my side, I felt her steps become slower and she paused for a moment, only for a moment before she got down the stairs and it was only then did I felt like I could breathe again.

Blessed Oracle, just what is going on here? I thought to myself as I straightened with the other maids. Madam Katrina then clapped her hands and at once, we all walked towards a table and picked up a tray of drinks, It was time to party!

Music began to play as the party became lively, people dancing while others stood in dark corners for gossip and other things. I carried the tray of drinks, moving gracefully through the crowd, offering drinks with a smile plastered on my face just as I had been instructed. As I moved through the crowd, I couldn't stop my eyes from looking for a certain blond-haired stuck-up prince.

I haven't seen him since the party had started and he wasn't announced either. I couldn't find Reagan too, though knowing him he was probably lurking in the shadows like always.

As I gazed around the opulent ballroom filled with guests adorned in fancy suits and ball gowns, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment when I still didn't see Corion. I quickly pushed aside the fleeting feeling of longing that crept up in my chest. It's not like I missed him or anything, which would be crazy! I told myself firmly, after all. I weaved my way through the throng of guests, gracefully balancing a tray of drinks as I fulfilled my duties as a server at the grand event.

Just as I was about to make my way to the next group of guests, a sudden chime of a bell echoed in the ballroom, it was time for dinner, and the guests began to make their way toward the elegantly set table.

I followed the flow of the crowd, moving towards the dining area with practiced ease as I took my place behind each of the guests prepared to serve them. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and I couldn't help but steal a glance at Anya, who had taken a seat beside the king.

Our eyes met briefly, and I saw her give a small smirk before I quickly looked away, my heart pounding in my chest. King Aspen then stood up from his seat and a hush fell around the ballroom.

"I'd like to thank you all for coming and also to propose a toast, to this wonderful union." King Aspen began as she looked to Anya who grinned up at him, her gaze almost shooting hearts.

It took all I had in me not to barf as King Aspen continued his speech, "I imagine it must not have been easy for you which is why I have prepared a surprise, just to show vampires and werewolves can coexist together!"

King Aspen clapped his fingers and before I could comprehend what was happening, the maids stepped forward and plopped themselves on the laps of the guests with a flirtatious smile on their faces.

Something didn't feel right here! I could feel my stomach knot with unease as I watched what was happening when suddenly the guests opened their mouths and sank their fans into the maids who had exposed their necks.

A small scream of horror escaped my lips as I watched the sight before me. I expected the maids to be screaming but instead, their faces looked relaxed, pleasurable even. A staggered breath escaped me and I didn't know when I had taken a step backward until the guest I was supposed to serve reached out and grabbed my wrist.

"And where do you think you are going pretty little thing?" The man asked baring his fangs at me.
