Late call (1)

Alana stretched her arms after she left the library. She had taken Scarlet's words seriously that she needed to study first before she could be given a job. "How long was I in there?" Alana wondered.

She couldn't think of the last day she had spent many hours with her face stuck in more than one book.

"A little over three hours."

Alana was startled by Dawson's voice. She turned around to find him leaning on a wall. "Have you turned to stalking?"

"That is beneath me. I was instructed to watch over you since I know your predicament. Now that you are done and ready for dinner, I can take my leave," Dawson replied.

Alana didn't know that he was out here or she would have left sooner so that he could have a break. "I didn't know about you guarding me. It wasn't my intention to make you stand out here. I would have brought a chair."

"How kind of you, princess. Standing for that time was nothing," said Dawson.
