In a post-apocalyptic Earth, devastated by an invasion of Elder Gods through Dimensional Rifts seventy years ago, humanity is on the brink of extinction. The invasion caused massive land shifts, destroying continents and contaminating the atmosphere with radiation and pestilence. Survivors now live in domed cities called Fortresses, protected from the horrors outside. 

To fight back, humans developed the Knight Program, harnessing a mysterious energy source that emerged during the First Invasion. This program produces super-powered soldiers, known as Knights, who are humanity's last hope against the Elder Gods.

RED: Swordsman in the Apocalypse

The application into Ward was a big thing for humanity behind the walls of Allan Fort, and for anyone willing to achieve greatness for themselves.

The exam was held at the main base of The Ward Itself which was situated northwest from the Middle Wall. It was this large region that was the size of a district or two.

It was isolated and well fortified.

It really felt like coming to a Military base in some manner.

The time was already ticking before the Exam, Lyra and I didn't have any much more freedom to waist.

And as painful as it was for her, we checked out of our exceedingly lavish and expensive hotel room, took a Speed Train across the Middle Wall before finally arriving at The Ward.

There, we made our intentions to apply known and registered after paying a certain amount.
