In a post-apocalyptic Earth, devastated by an invasion of Elder Gods through Dimensional Rifts seventy years ago, humanity is on the brink of extinction. The invasion caused massive land shifts, destroying continents and contaminating the atmosphere with radiation and pestilence. Survivors now live in domed cities called Fortresses, protected from the horrors outside. 

To fight back, humans developed the Knight Program, harnessing a mysterious energy source that emerged during the First Invasion. This program produces super-powered soldiers, known as Knights, who are humanity's last hope against the Elder Gods.

.Enter Huey Blade, the last heir of a ruined sword family and a returnee swordsman in a post-apocalyptic Earth. Insensitive, narcissistic, and possibly sociopathic, Huey was transmigrated to a world of Red and Decay, struggling every second to survive.

After decades, Huey finally returns home, only to find Earth devastated and his family long gone. Now, as a not-so-human swordsman, he must navigate this fallen world, as a Swordsman in the apocalypse, and humanity's public enemy number two!

"Listen up, maggots! Today, all of you will die!!" The loud voice of the officer on the podium boomed like an explosion and a still silence descended on the surroundings.

Even Huey's expression twitched. He found the unnecessarily loud voice a nuisance for his sensitivity ears.

Meanwhile, the expression of others froze and turned pale. The appearance of the man alone had been enough to oppress them. His presence spread like a wave over the area and all of the previous nervous murmurs and chatter of the applicants who were nervously awaiting the start of the exam creased completely.

Those with weaker resistance and fortitude couldn't didn't even dare to breath and held their breaths short.

His sudden opening was enough time fill them with not only confusion, but dread.

Huey could see some of their faces crumpling, and Lyra was amongst the many.
