Chapter 79 - Apocryphal

"...She went because Janica was trapped. Her family thought we were going to traffic them. The Lady went to calm them and reassure in secret. I and a few others went. But when we got there, Janica was dead, an arrow through her heart, her family the same. The Lady told us all to scatter, but it was too late. I ran away and into a trash heap, where I hid until they left with her. They said they would meet again in Oshorough. The huge woman gave her away after that, and left."

Mayrel peeked up at her Lady's Boss, the man whom few of them had every seen until just recently.

He was young. She and the others had thought that he would be some sort of an old man, who was trying his hand at philanthropy in his old age, to get into the Goddess' good graces, but no.

He was young and sported dark black hair full of vitality, and eyes sharp enough to make her breathing grow shallow under it's stare.
