Zain Ashraf was considered a bastard, one of his limitations being born to the late Nizar and a woman of common birth. It was common knowledge that, despite being the only son, he would never inherit his father's legacy. Nima, the legitimate child of both Ashraf parents and born from their cousin union, was referred to as pure blood.
He knew people spoke ill of him, even though no one outside the Ashraf house knew the circumstances surrounding his birth. The turbaning ceremony of his sister served as proof to everyone that he was a bastard.
