Safah's heart skipped a beat as the news of Lord Anwar's death reached her ears. The revelation struck her with genuine surprise, for she had deliberately kept her distance from him, aware of his suspicious nature. Lord Anwar had been fervently combating the Shers, holding something invaluable that could be wielded against them. His sudden demise hinted at a sinister plot, pointing towards either the Shers or, more ominously, someone within palace itself.

With a sense of urgency, she made her way towards Lord Khalji, who stood alongside his wife, Lady Sania at the far end of the hall, near the back door where Shima made her entrance. Fixing her gaze on Lord Khalji, she asked directly.
