Cynthia's First Pokémon Egg

Many had already prepared. Drasna and Haaland immediately flew in from Kalos to help with the celebration.

As soon as Allen and Caitlin arrived, they saw that everything was set up and ready.

Allen nodded, signaling for everyone to be quiet with a finger to his lips, his expression serious as he subtly motioned for them to stay silent.

Caitlin, sensing the urgency, followed suit, trying to be as discreet as possible. The atmosphere was a mix of excitement and anticipation.

Back to Cynthia, she was feeling a little disappointed. "Grandma, I'm hungryyyy!" she yelled, but there was no answer. Her voice echoed in the quiet house, and she was taken aback by the silence.

"Grandma?" she called again, her voice softer this time, tinged with a little sadness. 'Did Grandma go to the lab again?' she wondered to herself.

With a sigh of disappointment, Cynthia took a few steps toward the kitchen, her stomach growling slightly. 'No one would play with me today,' she thought, her excitement from earlier fading as she grew bored.

As she walked past the living room, she was about to continue toward the kitchen when suddenly, the door to the living room creaked open, and several of her friends jumped out from behind the furniture, shouting, "Surprise!"

Cynthia was caught off guard for a moment, and she was dazzled. It took a while for her to catch the moment.

"Wow!" she exclaimed first.

No wonder all the lights were turned off. Even though it was still bright outside, the dim lighting created a soft ambiance. It turned out, they had been preparing everything for this moment!

Colorful lights were strung up in front of the bar, blinking brightly. When the incandescent lights were turned off later, it would feel like a sky full of twinkling stars!

The colorful lights were interspersed with strands of ribbons that dangled down, and small triangular flags were strung between them. On the ground, balloons in a variety of colors were tied together to form a border, with clusters of four balloons on one side and eight balloons on the other, creating a festive atmosphere.

Not only that, the bar was decorated with various Pokémon-themed stickers, and small white balloons were arranged to mimic the stars in the sky.

Inside the bar, a large white blackboard stood prominently at the center, adorned with colorful paper cut-outs spelling out, "Happy Sixth Birthday, Cynthia!"

The birthday party for Cynthia was lively, with the air filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses as friends and family gathered to celebrate the special occasion.

The scent of freshly baked cake and sweet treats wafted through the room, further enhancing the warm, celebratory vibe.

Cynthia was surrounded by smiling faces, and the moment she saw her grandmother, Professor Carolina, she rushed over to her.

The professor opened her arms wide, wrapping her granddaughter in a tight, loving hug. "Happy birthday, dear," she said with a smile that could light up the room.

"Thank you, Grandma!" Cynthia beamed, feeling a surge of happiness in her heart as she returned the hug.

As more people from Celestic Town began to filter in, familiar faces approached the young birthday girl to wish her well.

Some acquaintances from town, who had known Cynthia since she was a baby, stopped by for a brief moment to offer their congratulations, bringing gifts and kind words.

Each guest added their own warmth to the party, creating an atmosphere filled with love and joy.

Time passed quickly, and before long, it was already afternoon. Many of the guests had bid their farewells, leaving only the closest friends and family to continue celebrating.

As the afternoon sun streamed through the windows, the remaining guests gathered around Cynthia, especially Allen and Caitlin, who eagerly helped her open the gifts.

From miniature Poké Balls and a toy-crafted Dialga-Palkia to a replica of a shiny new badge case, Cynthia's eyes sparkled when she saw them.

When Professor Carolina walked over, she placed her hand on her forehead in a playful gesture of feigned helplessness. "Aiyah, why are you opening the gifts now? We still have to eat the cake."

"Mill~,"

Grandma Dracelia, along with her ever-present Miltank, walked over and saw the scene unfolding but didn't mind at all. In fact, she thought it was rather cute.

"Cake?" Cynthia immediately pushed the gifts aside from her mind. She grabbed Caitlin and Allen's hands and eagerly pulled them toward her grandmother, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Where? I want to eat cake!"

"Your uncle Haaland will get it right away!" Professor Carolina reassured the little girl, then turned to Drasna, who was already preparing. "Drasna, turn off the lights."

Soon, the room darkened, with only the flickering of candles breaking the stillness. In the dim, colorful light, Cynthia saw a large cake being rolled in by a cart. It was beautifully decorated with intricate details, the most impressive being a lifelike sculpture of Garchomp on top, made from icing and fondant.

Cynthia's eyes widened in amazement. "Wow, it's Garchomp!" she exclaimed.

The cake had been made by none other than Haaland, as he himself is a pastry chef and owns his own dessert shop in Galar.

Professor Carolina had asked him, along with Drasna, to help prepare Cynthia's sixth birthday celebration. Haaland's expertise in baking ensured that this cake wasn't just a dessert—it was a masterpiece.

"Happy birthday to you…" Everyone sang the birthday song again as they slowly pushed the cake over.

"Oh, it's coming!" Allen cheered, looking toward the cake. 'Hmm, I've never tasted a cake in the Pokémon world,' he thought, licking his lips.

Six candles, each representing Cynthia's sixth birthday, flickered on the cake. As for the Garchomp decoration, well, everyone knew what that symbolized.

"Do you like this cake? Your uncle spent a lot of time making it!" Haaland laughed and picked up the little girl so she could get a better view of the cake.

"I like it! I like Garchomp! It's strong and fierce!" Cynthia was so happy that she didn't even know what to say.

"Come on, make a wish first, then blow out the candles. After blowing them out, you can eat the cake!" Professor Carolina said.

The little girl knew exactly what to do. She quickly clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, and whispered her wish.

After that, it was time to open the presents!

"Cynthia, happy birthday," Allen said seriously as he handed over his gift.

But Cynthia shook her head and pushed the gift away. "I don't want it! Why do you always give me a book every time? You can use it yourself."

Allen, however, was overjoyed hearing this. The book was actually a special edition of The Lancet, a renowned medical journal known for publishing groundbreaking research in health and medicine, specifically focused on Pokémon health and medical studies.

This book had been specially requested from Galar since the headquarters were in Wyndon, so the new release naturally arrived in Galar first.

Then, one by one, people present presented their gifts. Each person had something special for Cynthia, and with each new present, her excitement grew.

When it was Professor Carolina's turn, she handed Cynthia a small, carefully wrapped package. Cynthia couldn't wait. She quickly took off the butterfly ribbon and opened the box.

As the wrapping paper fell away, she saw it—an egg! But not just any egg. It was a Pokémon egg!

Her eyes widened, and before anyone could say a word, she sprang to her feet with a loud squeal of excitement. "Aaaarrrhh! Pokémon egg!" she screamed, her voice filled with pure joy.

Everyone laughed, watching her bounce with energy. It was clear from her reaction that this was the perfect gift. Cynthia's hands trembled slightly as she carefully held the egg, her gaze full of wonder.

"Is this for me?" she asked, almost in disbelief.

Professor Carolina smiled warmly. "Yes, it is, dear. This Pokémon egg will hatch when it's ready."

She had already applied for an early pass for Cynthia, a special allowance for children to have their first Pokémon before entering primary school.

"What kind of Pokémon is it?" Cynthia asked curiously.

"Isn't it better not to know? That's part of the adventure, isn't it?" Professor Carolina replied with a wink.

Cynthia could hardly contain herself, clutching the egg to her chest. "I can't wait to see what Pokémon will come out!" she said, her voice filled with excitement and wonder.

Soon, the last person who never spoke much because she was too introverted, Caitlin, shyly gave Cynthia a headband. Without hesitation, Cynthia immediately put it on the spot, and before Caitlin could say anything, Cynthia wrapped her arms around her in a warm hug. Caitlin froze for a moment, surprised, but then she hesitantly returned the hug, her face turning even redder.

After all was done, now it was time for the cake!

Finally!

Allen got the biggest piece of cake. At first, he didn't think much about it, but soon the cream on his cake started to wobble, stunning him. Before he could react, the—

"Ma-mii~!"

"Oh, Milcery!"

It was Milcery, his Uncle Haaland's Pokémon.

Allen grinned, gently setting the cake down before scooping up the little Milcery. The white, cream-covered Pokémon looked as if it had been plucked straight from the top of a cake, its soft, sugary form adding to the sweetness of the moment.

The reunion unknowingly made him forget the rules that applied when you were with Milcery—rules that probably no one in the entire Pokémon world knew, except for him.

One...

Milcery was gently picked up and spun clockwise, its small form gracefully twirling in Allen's hand.

Two...

The crowd chuckled at this, some enjoying the cake and chatting, but no one suspected anything unusual yet.

Three...

The motion continued, and the midday sun seemed to brighten the room, casting a warm, golden light that made everything feel more vibrant.

Four...

A few onlookers exchanged curious glances as a soft shimmer began to form around Milcery, but they still couldn't quite figure out what was happening.

Five...

Exactly five seconds after Allen spun Milcery, its body suddenly erupted in a brilliant glow. Allen's eyes widened in surprise as the light grew more intense, though it was still faint at first.

'Oh, crap!'
