Year 15

The X-Men were a funny team; they existed to show humanity that there were good mutants and that there was a chance for them to coexist.

It was a thankless job and one that only a few of them would see produce results.

They aimed for what had been for generations a truly noble cause, but these were people who had made up their minds long ago.

The best they could do was to make themselves heroes in hopes of changing the next generation and those after.

David had no ill thoughts towards this mission; in fact, he loved such a grand mission.

There were millions of timelines where this had been achieved and many more where they were close to achieving it.

Standing on the basketball court, David looked up into the sky as he watched the cloaked ship descend.

"You're clear for landing. Forge is waiting to perform any repairs," David commanded as he waved them down.

"I hear you," Hank replied before the Blackbird slowly began its descent.

The basketball court didn't open, but they continued their descent, and just before they touched the ground, David saw a wave of energy pass over the entire court.

Immediately, he suspended himself in the air by his own power. Seconds later, he watched the jet merge with the ground but wasn't panicked.

This was one of the benefits of getting one of the strongest and most powerful technopaths on your side.

There were two of them: one who could actually control technology and the other who could create anything technological just by wanting it.

With the jet gone, David himself began his descent too, soon appearing within the hangar below the basketball court.

"If there are any injuries, please report to the medbay. Submit your equipment by the door; Forge and Stanley will kill you if you misplace it," David said with a smile as he landed on the ground with them.

As he spoke, the jet door opened, and the X-Men began to step out. Among them were Charles, Hank, Jean, several new additions like the one with the red visor, Scott, and finally Raven.

"Is that a new addition? How does it work?" Hank asked as soon as he came out.

He ran straight down to meet with the two mechanical geniuses among them.

"How did it go?" David asked.

"It's Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil; it never goes well," Charles complained.

"I see, then I will be waiting for you all in the medbay," David replied.

He would never go on a mission with them, as that would be too unfair to practically anyone he faced.

However, there was nothing restricting him from taking care of them. He was free to modify the team as much as he wanted, at least until the Judge called upon him.

Until then, though, he was with them. He could neither be a hero nor a villain due to his power, but nothing stopped him from being their doctor and trainer.

"Did you manage to bring her?" Charles asked as soon as they were given some space.
