Reunion

At around 1 am on May 31, 2018, Diljeet reunited with his son after two years apart. Overwhelmed with emotion, he uttered, "I am sorry, son," before tears streamed down his face. Arjun, his son, responded gently, "You don't have to apologize, father. I understand you were away for the family, working hard to provide for us. I'm just glad you're back." Diljeet hesitated, feeling the weight of his undisclosed business dealings. "You don't know what kind of business I'm involved in, son. I'm not a good person," he confessed. However, Arjun's unwavering support shone through as he replied, "I don't need to know, dad. Thanks to you, I'm studying at the best university in Canada, living in the finest hostel they offer. You're a good person to me, and that's all that matters." Tears welled in Diljeet's eyes as he mustered the courage to speak, "I am sorry, son." Arjun, with a reassuring tone, responded, "Don't be so dramatic, dad. It's not like you killed somebody, right?"

Diljeet swallowed hard, the weight of his past actions heavy on his conscience. "But son, you're unaware of the realities I had to face just to survive. However, I've left all that behind now. I'll be with you every step of the way," he vowed. Arjun, sensing his father's sincerity, replied, "I'm glad you're staying with me, dad."

With a mix of relief and gratitude, Diljeet continued, "Yeah, son, I will. And you won't have to stay in this tiny room anymore. I've bought a villa in the city of Saqumish. We'll live there, and I'll buy you a car so you can commute to college. You do know how to drive, right?" Arjun nodded confidently, "Yes, dad, I'm 18. Mom taught me. I just wish she was still alive to see you finally coming back."

Their conversation was interrupted by the reality of their circumstances, but Diljeet's determination remained unwavering. "Let's go, son. My car is parked outside the dorm," Diljeet urged. However, Arjun reminded his father of the rules, insisting they wait until morning to remove his name from the student dorm.

Reluctantly, Diljeet agreed and booked a hotel nearby. The next morning,Diljeet surprised everyone by arriving in a Lamborghini Huracan. The sleek, roaring machine turned heads, eliciting gasps and whispers from students and faculty alike. Some jaws dropped in disbelief as they watched Arjun, the usually unassuming student, step into such luxury.

Arjun, feeling self-conscious amidst the attention, couldn't help but remark, "You should have brought a normal car, dad. Everyone's staring at us." Diljeet chuckled, his eyes reflecting a mix of amusement and pride. "Come on, kid, don't worry about them. They're just shocked to see the car. Besides, I love sports cars, and this one's a beauty. Let's enjoy the ride," he reassured his son.

Their journey to Saqumish was a mix of excitement and apprehension for Arjun, especially as Diljeet shared his past experience driving trucks in India. Despite his initial unease, Arjun found solace in his father's confident driving.Arriving at their new home left Arjun speechless. The villa stood majestically overlooking the sea, with breathtaking views of the mountains and sunrise. The spacious interior boasted lavish amenities, including a sprawling kitchen, multiple lounges, a home theater, and a gaming room equipped with the latest technology. Diljeet's pride swelled as he watched Arjun's eyes widen in disbelief.

"Do you like it, kid?" Diljeet asked, his voice tinged with anticipation. Arjun, overwhelmed by the grandeur before him, simply hugged his father tightly, tears of gratitude streaming down his cheeks.
