Vlad and Chris noticed Emerlinda and Camilla approaching while also noticing an ever-growing mass of green goo spreading everywhere.

Their entire hunting session was interrupted as the growing sea of emerald slime began to devour everything, including the Dark Spirits they were fighting, which melted away into the slime's interior.

Naturally, they were immediately annoyed; this wasn't something they expected to happen at all.

After what happened with Chris, they thought things would finally end nicely, and yet…

"W-What the hell is that thing?!" Chris screamed loudly, shocked and horrified. "It's super yucky!"

He looked at the thing beneath; it rapidly noticed them, their countless eyes glancing at him and his group.

And he also noticed something weird, a person within the slime-like ethereal aura.

A small person.

"I-It's a green slime?" Vlad asked, noticing the thing approaching. "Wait, no, there's a person inside? This is… it's her Aura?!"

"Her Aura?! No way!" Chris muttered. "Ah! Emerlinda! Camilla!

"Uwaah! We're back somehow!" Emerlinda muttered. "You guys! This is really bad! I tried to help some goblin girl that looked cute, and I thought she was going to give me a quest, but she ended up being possessed by a giant slime ghost thing! Also, there's this group of weirdos that wore emerald armor, and they died now, but their power merged with the goblin girl that for some reason wore the armor and…!"

"W-Wait what?! Emerlinda, please just talk more clearly. I can barely understand what you're saying!" Chris said angrily that the half-elf had grown too hysterical to understand properly now. "What are you even saying?"

"I-I'm sorry. It's just that so much happened; I am having a hard time…" Emerlinda cried. "Is this always a thing in this Realm?"

"Kind of, sometimes," Vlad nodded, crossing his arms. "Camilla, what do you think? You fought them right?"

"Yeah, I took them down," Camilla said. "Hmm, they remind me of those bandit guys that worshiped the other Outer One, remember brother?"

"Wait, you mean these emerald knights were members of a cult?!" Vlad gasped. " Then…!"

As they finally managed to regroup, the two learned of what happened from Vlad's sister and Emerlinda. All while the tentacles crept towards them, the sky was no longer a safe place.

And Vlad realized that this wasn't a mere coincidence; something born from pure evil had arrived, interrupting what he imagined would be a peaceful hunting session.

"Can everyone else see this message?" He asked, as everyone nodded. "Just as I thought then, we first faced the Unending Crimson, then the Desecrated Shadow King, and now… the Maiden of the Emerald Sea!"

"W-Who are those?" Emerlinda asked. "Bosses?"

"Worse than bosses, they're like monstrosities from the stars! Pure Lovecraft shit, you get it?!" Chris asked hysterically. "We've faced two of them already—well, not them completely, but the things they bring!"

"Lovecraft?! You mean those eldritch horror god things?" Emerlinda gasped. "Oh my gosh! That's so cool! Fantasia doesn't even have such a thing! Obscuritas is cool in its own way!"

"This is not cool at all; they're stalkers and are obsessed with us… With Vlad in specific!" said Chris. "They appeared even when we went to change classes back then!"

"R-Really? That's scary…" said Emerlinda. "Well, what can we do now? Should we run away? But I feel bad about the goblin girl…"

"Haah…"

Vlad sighed, his eyes glaring at the ever-growing monstrosity.

"If this thing continues spreading and eating everything, it might ultimately evolve into something we can't handle. Worst case, it'll invade Elderbridge, and I don't want that…" Vlad said. "We'll take care of it."

"Can we?!" Chris asked. "It's pure acid thing! Is light even going to work?"

"Whatever they threw at us, it has never mattered, has it?" Vlad asked. "Think of it as another challenge. And we've grown stronger from each one of them. The Unending Crimson's rewards gave us a tremendous foundation, then the Desecrated Shadow King ended up giving us a lot of tools and skills, especially for me. Although they might be trying to kill us, to me, they're opportunities."

"Are you serious…" Chris sighed, facepalming. "I guess to an extent they help, but—ah, fucking hell! Damn it, fine! But if something happens to me, you're taking responsibility!"

"Don't worry, I won't let harm come to you," Vlad smiled as he noticed the tentacles approaching. "Stay behind me! We'll first have to cut down all these tentacles! Then, we might create a sealing formation to stop its spreading ability."

"O-Okay then, you're the boss here…!" Emerlinda nodded. "What do I do?"

"Attack from behind me, use all your elemental spells, and let's see what deals the most damage! I honestly have no idea what weakness the Acid Element even has, but something has to work!" Vlad said. "Ah, they're coming!"

As he spoke, dozens of tentacles rushed towards them, attacking the group with powerful swings that showed more speed than their large forms seemed to indicate.

"HAAAH!"

However, Vlad intercepted them with his blazing swords, easily cutting through the acid tentacles one by one, unleashing explosions of underworld flames.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

As this happened, the tentacles targeted him as they saw him as the most threatening…

And also because of something else too.

[The {Maiden of the Emerald Sea} is moaning in pleasure as you cut her body!]

["Please cut me moreeeee! Make me feel aliveeee!"]

"I knew this disgusting thing would do this, but it works for me…!"

As Vlad thought so, he quickly unleashed his Aura, as the power of his Armor activated too, two huge silver-colored guardians manifested behind him.

The moment he attacked, the two of them attacked as well with their gigantic silver swords; a single attack became three devastating attacks.

CRAASH! CRAASH! CRAASH!

RUMBLE!

Dozens of tentacles exploded into pieces and fell into the ground like a rain of acid. Vlad quickly looked down, noticing the acid that was separated simply melted and disappeared.

"Okay, that works to an extent, but… Dammit!"

He noticed his swords were losing a tremendous amount of Durability, the acid was deadly even against the hard metal of his weapons.

"I guess I'll have to bring the cavalry…"

He quickly pointed his hands into the sky, as a huge magic circle manifested, spinning around.

"Unit Summon!"

FLAAASH!

And from within the magic circle, the figure of an insectoid woman emerged, her eyes shining bright red as her aura of bloodthirst manifested fully.

"Yes! Finally master! You've finally called meeee! Hahahahaha!"

She didn't even bother herself to speak, jumping into the monster beneath and swinging her fist forward.

BOOOMMM!!!

As a massive shockwave of crimson energies impacted the slime, a tenth of it disappeared, leaving only steam everywhere.

"UUUGGHHH…!"

The monstrous slime groaned in agony, glaring at the "thing" that had arrived.

A menace from the era that Obscuritas was dangerous and wild.

A monster among monsters!

"Insecta, I'm counting on you! Please deal as much damage as possible!"

"Sure thing, master~! I'll gladly do so!"

Insecta couldn't be happier; finally she was having some battles.

Eldritch God or not, she didn't give a damn.
